The Big 3!
Comments (16)
I was just having a look around at the odds for us finishing 4th and found it really funny that a couple of the bookies (namely Skybet, William Hill & Paddy Power) now have odds to win the league "WITHOUT THE BIG 3" ! Does this mean that people are now beginning to realise that the red shite really are shite? I was a bit pissed off at first that our odds were around 3/1 whereas the shite's where 1/2 but it just means I'll win more money come May!

Ha Ha! I’m just glad I ’laid’ Liverpool to finish in the top 4 through Betfair a few months ago. Those odds are getting longer and longer by the day!!!!!

Keep getting on Paul as i think it may come down to just a couple of key games. Our next game against Man City will be huge as it will increase our buffer on them and our next game against the RS will also be crucial.
It is now in our hands and i think 3/1 is big overs.

I think Pool fans are just everywhere (e.g. media, bookies, etc)....getting used to it...I am just hoping that the same nonsense (of the Toffees finishing 4th and Pool finishing 5th or worse....in short missing out on Champions League & the $$$ to feed its players) doesn’t re-surface this time round. It’s good that Moyes doesn’t care a damm about how the Reds are faring; as long as the boys here do their very best, efforts will show. Now for the important match at SK Brann...COYB!!!

Two main concerns.
Aston Villa - a good team sneaking up without anyone noticing.
LFC being gifted the Champions League trophy would mean fourth spot does not enter the competition.

Call me mad , but I realy believe we will finish third, above the pretentious Chelsea!

Kev, You’re totally SANE mate, so long as we don’t suffer with injuries to key players. After the CC semi (and considering that they battered us when we, through Cahill’s great overhead kick, snatched a draw in the league match at Stamford Bridge) I think Chelski will underestimate us at GP on 19th April. Given they have to play ManU and Arsenal (we only have Arse), as long as we beat them at GP, we CAN finish 3rd. We also require justice in the Analfield derby of course. Bring it on. COYB.

I think you all need to do an about face, eyes on chelsea, forget who?s behind us.
If we put a good run in now, next five I believe are winnable, and chelsea stutter, we could be on them quicker than Gazza on a open bar.
Odds on Everton to finish third anyone?

Kevi if your mad, then your obviously not alone, I too think we should be looking to catch Chelski
anyone know what sort of price you’d get for that ?

Think talk about Chelsea is bit optimistic at this stage. Good to have ambition but would like to see us try to secure that 4th spot before worrying about Chelsea who I don’t think will slip up that much.

Next two games are crucial we could effectively take City and Pompey out of the picture with two wins.
If we are still in there at the end of the season fighting for third our run in is a bitch - Villa, Chelsea, Arsenal and Newcastle, who will probably have to beat us to stay up!

I believe we can beat Liverpool away, Michael. All other things being equal, however, that game will be decided by the referee. We will have to beat them with something to spare, because there IS no justice in derby games.

I have a couple of questions. First, on Sunday Sky showed a picture of the league table with the top 4 shaded differently to the rest of the table, that is apart from Liverpool who had a different shade of their own. Can anyone enlighten me? Does it represent wrongly placed big 4 team?
Second, can anyone enlighten me as to why the media and Premiership and indeed UEFA wish to protect these clubs? Call me naive but I dont get it even though I believe it to be the case. Surely the more succesful clubs there are the better for football?

BBC Football website:-
Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard says they must forget about the title and focus on finishing fourth in the Premier League.
<
The best bit:- He added: "It's important that we don't let our standards drop."
So Stevie, supposed Premiership title contenders to 4th place battle isn't letting your standards drop?
Once again, Lawrenson, Hansen and all those RS gobshites got it SO wrong. The dark side are still light years away from the title.
I'm sorry, I know that we shouldn't care about what happens on the red side of Merseyside but I can't help but enjoy it! 4th place is now ours to lose, if the boys keep going we're in there.

I've just read in a couple of the national rags. that Mr Carragher belives that the challenge for the league title this year is finally over "yet again" all say are., but he states that they the shite are heavily involved in a fight with Aston Villa, and Man Citeh for the forth spot no mention of Everton, we must give respect to the teams around us, stating the mentioned two, well maybe he is concentrating on a eufa spot, as the 4th placed team at the moment must have consolidated that spot. Or has he not looked at the league table properly recently???

Without reading what you’ve all said about this, I was just pondering the state of the first four places in the PL myself. Its not quite ’in our own hands’ of course, but if we do as well as we can, Chelski can fall. The hounds of hell at the back of us?
In that sense, it is in our own hands.
