4 Place = UEFA Cup?

An horrendous thought was returned to my conscience yesterday having watched Inter's feeble attempt to ?achieve? a draw rather than a decisive away win.
The dreaded "what if?" scenario, the unthinkable: what if the red lot were to somehow win the Champions League this year ? and lets face it, the hugely improbable has happened before. AND if Liverpool finished outside the top 4 in the PL with the big 3 on sat on EFC?s shoulders?
Based on the fact that only 4 Premier League teams are permitted entry to the CL including the last CL winner, then the holder of the PL fourth place straight away becomes UEFA cup fodder. We would have achieved 4th only to get a slap in the face.
Yet again the Blues could be faced with being shifted sideways ? well more like shafted by our red neighbours. It could happen and whilst it's not life and death the possibility is an extremely irritating thought.
In the meantime were doing great, we want more and us fans will continue to support the boys to help ensure continued success. But let's just hope that sooner rather than later, they do get the proper seeing to on the big stage they deserve, otherwise they could get ideas of grandeur ? and OUR TIME IS NOW.

I don?t no what it is with them in europe, whenever they play top teams thye always seem to get huge slices of luck.
Now to be fair against inter they played very well in defece but it is more than that, the big teams seem to shit themselves against the RS and suddenly become half the team they are, it is so weird, like is said, credit to them for upping their game and rising to the occassion but there is something else that I cannot put my finger on that makes the RS like world beaters which they clearly are def not!

Why is the glass always half-empty with some of you guys?
Let’s just focus on what Everton are doing please. And at the moment that means doing as well as we have in 20 years with every prospect of things getting even better.

How the hell Materazzi deserved sending off is a Mark Clatterbug question and up to that point it was 0 - 0.

You have given the impression that Liverpool will play Schalke or Porto in the quarters if they get through. I take it you are just worried about the possibility because it is not drawn until 14th March, the same day when, hopefully, we find out our quarter final opponents.

Lets hope they don’t win it again coz behind certain funerals, when they did against Milan it was the worst day of my life....

After what happened in 2005 UEFA changed the ruling that if it happened again the winner of the Champions League would take the final spot for the following year from their country's allocation.
That would mean if the situation arose again this year, as it is at present, Everton would find themselves finishing 4th and only gaining a UEFA cup slot. As much as I would love to see Inter claw thier way back into the tie I can't see it happening. And, the winner of Inter v Red shite plays the winner of Shalke v Porto, hence, they could be getting an easy ride to the semi's.
Surely... they can't deny us a run at the European Cup again, I don't think I could take that!
