Should they stay or should they go?

Comments (6)

David Moyes has admitted that he would like to keep Steven Pienaar on a permanent basis at the end of the season. Have we seen the best of the South African midfielder? There is believed to be an agreed price of £2.5million for the permanent transfer of the Borussia Dortmund playmaker, does this represent good value for money and yet another sound signing by David Moyes?

Moyes will also have to decide on the futures of Pienaar, as well as Manuel Fernandes and Tommy Gravesen. With the strange goings on regarding third party ownership of Portuguese midfielder Fernandes, should we get involved? Is he good enough to command a big transfer fee like the £12million being banded about?

Tommy Gravesen is enjoying his second spell at Goodison, but do we really need to keep him at the club after his loan spell expires? He was a fantastic servant to the club in his first spell and it was devastating to see him leave for Real Madrid, but does the Danish midfielder still hold the same influence over the midfield battle as he used to?

It remains to be seen what Moyesey will do but, if his track record in the transfer market is anything to go by, it is almost certain he will make the right choice in the best interests of the club.

Pienaar and Fernandes ? yes; Gardner and Gravesen ? no. Pienaar is already a deal done in my opinion. £2.5 million is an absolute steal.

Fernandes will cost around 8 million if that and the third party ownership is supposedly gone. Compare his loan deal this season to last. The last one took the whole month to get sorted out because of his ownership whereas this Loan took about a week at most.

Tommy is finished. Doesn?t have the legs to play at this level and needs to sort his fitness out. To injury prone and not the direction we want to be going in.

I doubt we?ll see Gardner much this season and he will probably be gone next season. I also expect Jack Rodwell to be our fourth choice centre half next season.

Spot on, Connor; I did not want Grav back and feel Gardner will be lucky to get a game.

Gravesen is enjoying his time at Goodison... bloody right he is, doing sweet bugger all for 40k per week... and that's not a Nigerian 40k either.

I think you’re right on the money Connor. What do you guys think of Ajax Cape Town and South Afrcan youngster, Bryce Moo? I’ve watced this player and his by far one of the best defenders in SA. I think is could be better than Mark Fish and Aaron Mokoena, and at around 400,000 pound this could be a steal from Pienaar’s former club. Even Pienaar mentioned in an interview how highly he rates Moon. What do you guys think.

PIenaar has to stay as he is the extra player we neeed to take the creative pressure off Arteta. But we still need a midfield general for those middle of the park battles. On that subject, have you seen this Lorik Cana that we are being linked with. Never been linked withsuch a dirty, angry player since Robbie Savage: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EL_bZAdOKhk
