Easing the move

Comments (10)

The `nationals`are awash this morning of stories about the difficulties Captain Pip is experiencing in selling his tasteful little pile near Burnley. Apparently, he bought the pad whilst a key player at Man Utd but found its location inconvenient once he moved to Everton. Like anybody would, faced with such difficulty, he re-located to...... the centre of Manchester!

It seems to me that it behoves all Evertonians to help ease Pip`s financial strain in maintaining two, albeit modest, homes and I write to suggest that Toffeeweb sets up a supporters` fund to get him a club nearer to his residences. Bury, Stockport or Accrington Stanley would seem most appropriate.

Actually.... I may have missed this, but when Ossie assumed the armband on Sunday I couldn?t remember who is actually the official EFC vice-captian? Does anyone know?

Yeah- well at least he has millions, I haven’t lived at my house for 2 years, my ex wife still lives there, i’m paying half the mortgage and after 2 years thats’ not sold either.

I live near his house, you should see the Gold Initials on the gate- PATHETIC. The house at christmas is lit up like a Tarts Boudoir.

I don?t think I have ever seen anything more tacky than the pictures of the inside of that house! Had to smile that when he moved to Manchester, he bought no less than THREE apartments for him, his wife and two kids. After all......
Just shows what riches you can accumulate with a modicum of talent but perhaps we?ve all overlooked something!

Scoff away but I work in conservation and getting anyone to buy a house like that these days is pretty tough going. Yeah, the carpets, curtains are the rest are the typical FWAG indulgencies but what else have they got to spend our dosh on? All the doors and panelling is your original Victoriana and each of those large sandstone mullion windows would cost £12-15k to reinsate, so there?s £100 grand gone and not a local authority grant anywhere in sight I suspect. Phil looks to be a sound and principled conservationist to me - so all power to his elbow.

Pity about all that driving to work everyday - must be tough on them all. Come to think of it, I have a three-hour round trip to work everyday. Em... wonder what the monthly mortgage repayments on £4m would be.....

You’ve got to admit Neville is pretty efficient, squeezing a huge fortune from a small drop of talent!

Maybe he should rent it out, the DSS always pay ha ha, get an Asbo family in there. Seriously though how hard is it to drive to "work" when work is dicking about a few hours a week kicking a football? I’m currently driving between 40 and 60 thousand miles a year with my bleeding job.

I asked all 10 of my Evertonian Workmates why so many of us disparage Captain Pip. Was it because he?s an ex-Manc? Was it because he?s arrogant? Do you know what they ALL said? "It?s because he?s fucking useless!"

Now I don?t buy into that. He?s a reasonable full-back who has always preferred to play in midfield and has been accomodated by our manager who thinks the sun shines out of his arse. I certainly don?t see him as a great leader but the guy just has to have something apart from a monstrous big house and three penthouse flats!

I just wonder how this ’news’ ever got out - it’s not even very interesting to anybody other than Phil or his neighbours. Surely, he can’t be that arrogant to think we actually want to know abut all these houses he owns or have any real sympathy?

I wonder what he paid for that £4m house? £2m probably if he bought it a few years ago. Ever thought of chipping a million off it, Phil? You’ll still have cleared a million - tax free!!

All this nonsense from a man who can’t pass accurately to save his life. He’s obviously got some good points, but when watching us this season his passing has been shocking and he should never ever play in midfield. He gets my nod at right back over Tony Hibbert only because he can get a bit more elevation on a cross - it’s that close. And if we had swapped McFadden for Alan Hutton in January like we should have done we would not really need him at all.

Sorry, Phil - nothing personal you seem like a nice bloke even if a little deluded! Now go out and prove me wrong on the pitch - I dare you!!
