Transfer Rumours

Comments (13)

I am never usually one to pay attention to silly transfer stories in the papers, although if it is in the Liverpool Echo then I usually start to show some interest, but after reading yesterdays 'rumours', I was rather concerned. In the People, we are linked with Sylvan Ebanks-Blake of Wolves. It says that Everton rate him at 4 million, but Wolves want 2 million plus either James Vaughan or Victor Anichebe. Are they mad?

But even more worryingly, The Daily Star says that Everton along with Portsmouth and Athletico Madrid are monitoring El Hadji Diouf. Like I said I don't listen to these rumours, but this one really is a worry if it turns out to be true.

Has the Silly Season started early this year or what? Transfer rumours are just so much a waste of oxygen. No-one really knows who Moyes and Everton are looking at ? and how many times were we linked with our last signing? A big fat zero. So what is the use of speulating? It really is video-game stuff, but unfortunately the media and especially the web has become a big focus for this rubbish. The Rumour Mill stories get the greatest number of internet hits. So it's what the people want. A bit like The Sun having the highest readership...

I haven’t read it lately but due to the fact that Bolton are almost certainly going down we really should sign Kevin Nolan.

Iain, behave yourself. He’s vastly overrated. We need to be shopping in a different store to that now to go where we’re looking to. And i wish people would stop mentioning Bullard too as he falls into that category. They are both the sort of players we needed 4 or 5 years ago. They will not improve our first team. We need to sign players who are as good if not better than the likes of Cahill to progress.

Thank you Mark,

We need players that can play in the top four teams. nuff said.

On my count we already have: Yak, Arteta, Cahill, Lescott, (maybe Baines and maybe Fernandes could get a sniff). We need to be shopping more in the £8-10 million region now. No more Kmart, we?re in Harrods now!

We should be looking for players that will push our better players onto the bench, that is how you progress.

Chris - I dread to imagine what you must think when we’re associated with "Target" Men. Ahem.

Am not so keen on Sylvan Ewbanks-Blake. It’s such a crap name.

We need a couple of midfielders most thats for sure. If were buying British then I guess Bentley, Downing and Barry are 3 good targets. If were buying abroad then Arsharvin and Appiah?

What midfielders would you like to see at the club (that could somewhat realistically be purchased)?
