Done deal for Peanuts?

Comments (18)

Call me paranoid indeed, but are there not a couple of strange things about Moyes's statement regarding this deal?

1) Agent's fees. I guess there are no rules in football, but would you not expect that the Agent's fee wouldf come out of the money Dortmund receive? I guess there's a seperate finders fee (?) that Everton have to pay directly to the agent over and above what they have already agreed to pay Dortmund.

2) Why would the player himself claim to have zero knowledge of any deal if things were already done? Somebody is telling porkies here...

3) "As far as I know..." times 2!! We know he is clearly NOT involved in the minutiae of these contract negotiations, but would you not think that at least Moyes would be kept more clearly informed of matters by the Board?

It ain't over 'til he's actually signed on the dotted line............

Totally agree with you.
There are too many "I think" and "As far as I?m aware".

Rings exactly the same bells as Manny last August.
"As far as I?m aware he will be signing in the next couple of days".

I just hope its true this time and not just a line to take some pressure off the team for this weekend.

I suspect Pienaar knows a lot more than he was suggesting. As I said previously it seems pretty obvious that Pienaar was looking to add a little bit of pressure on all parties to get the deal done. and what better way to add pressure than to go to the media.

Agents’ fees... you know when you now buy tickets from Ticketmaster and they add a booking fee per ticket, and an order fee for the whole transaction, and now charge not only for postage but also if you want to pick up from the box office also, oh and charge if you want to be ’exclusive’ allowing you to buy earlier than the public sale date... that’s what agents are doing, giving something a title and charging for it, even if its a nonsence.
They used to just take a percentage from the wages of said footballer.
Oh and Ticketmaster US, they’re even worse. They have 3 kinds of fees and then once they understand your credit card is foreign they charge an international fulfillment charge.
Sorry, just my work life getting to me!

I wouldn’t worry about this Pienaar deal, guys.
If Moyes wants him he’ll get him, if we don’t get him, Moyes will have somebody else, hopefully better, in mind.

AAAAH... Agents! Don?t you just love the fat, balding, slimy, greasy smelly liitle turds.

You see if Moyesey was Harry "brown paper bag" Redknapp he would have paid the unscroupulous little twat his shed full of cash. And if he thinks any other club will bung him with the fraud squad sniffing round every transfer he?s a bigger prick than I thought!!
Stevie, just sign on the dotted line and tell the scumbucket he can either be happy with his 20% of he can fuck off!!

Option B is to let Big Dunc go round to his after an anonymous tip that he was a burglar!! It?s time that agents etc were booted out of the game and the international PFA acted as agents to bring some sanity back into the game. Just look at whats happening now with Brum City and any transfer EVER done by Redknapp.

Don?t play ball with them cos if we get caught the repercussions don?t bare thinking about.

It’s all a bunch of bullshit...........
The Media = bullshit
Agents = bullshit
Theory’s = bullshit
Simply not knowing the truth = bullshit

One would think(?!) that all the details, the fee’s involved (including the agent) were all known upfront when the loan deal was would think(?!) that EFC wouldn’t allow any last minute surprises.

Bottom line..........we have no way of knowing and never will know what goes on behind the scenes ............... as long as Peanuts signs for "peanuts" (which is what he would do if he signs for the reported fee) then that’s all we need to know, all we need to worry about.....assuming he does then it’ll be another fantastic and CHEAP signing by our man Moyes!!

11pm tomorrow night I’ll be watching you (tape delayed thanks to FOX SOCCER).

Pienaar wants more money than Everton are prepared to offer him. Greedy like everyone else.

I am sure since the actual transfer value is for "peanuts", Pienaar / agent are looking for a large bit of wedge in bonus money / increased wages to compensate.

I don?t know if it works the same way in the prem as it does in our sports over here (US) but maybe the transfer was agreed with Dortmund, but before we officially pull the trigger on that deal, we want to make sure he agrees to a longer contract with Everton as well (details of which were not agreed, and that is how an agent would get paid).

I could be way off-base here, but that kind of stuff happens over here like that all the time (NFL, MLB, NBA, etc).

If we can sign him at a reasonable price fair enough but if it means screwing us I say NO!
Just like Tony Marsh, I am tired of seeing our good dribbling little fellows being bullied of the ball. Unspent Pienaar cash could go toward buying a fully grown man.

Richard Murray, you're a star, at last someone who has better things to do than worry about what the Manager is paid to do. Makes an interesting postings but guys chill out and relax, were 5th at present in the best league on the planet. Come September we will all be drooling over the new signings, put the tablets away. Let Davey sort things, he hasn't done so badly so far has he?

Slyvain Distain?s agent got £2M from Portsmouth when he left on a free - fact.

Tim Cahill didn't join Palace three months before us because Simon Jordan wouldn't pay the £400k agent fee that was requested - fact.

I totally believe it. Anyone who has ever known any players and spoken to them at length would believe it without any doubt.

Maybe Pienaar's agent is on drugs.. maybe not, I mean he has done a pretty good job if it was him who got us the £2.2M option. Maybe he deserves his £500k or whatever? I mean how much money has that option saved us? £2-3M?

Moyes isn?t going to come out and totally contradict all previous reports now, is he? Because:

1. It would seem like he was just silencing the media
2. If Pienaar did actually say anything as reported, then Moyes wouldn?t want to totally contradict and belittle the player he is chasing
3. When has Moyes ever been openly honest about transfers? He has always prefered to play it quiet.

So it appears that the delay with the signing of Pienaar is to do with agreeing the agents fee. According to Moyes the two clubs have agreed terms, EFC have agreed terms with the player, its just the money grabbing, leach of an agent that is jeprodising the whole deal!Fucking agents!!!
