FA Warns Moyes

Comments (18)

Anybody remember the derby match? The FA seem to hope not. So a mere 6 months after the Clottenberg fiasco, and after the on-off saga that Moyes was going to be charged ? then he wasnt ? then he was again, the FA have finally decided he's a naughty boy but no fine and no touchline ban.

Is this the same as saying he was right all along? Clottenberg hasnt been given an Everton game since (or Liverpool?). Why can't they come clean and say he had a nightmare game. Even the RS will admit that he got more than a few decisions wrong ? all in their favour.

As to whether he is a died-in-the-wool koppite or merely a Stevie G suckup still hasnt been addressed. Equally there is an issue about Premier League refs having a nice jolly for exhibition games in the far east. Couldn't they send a local ref who isnt allowed to ref competitive games?

How long before we have to endure another game where he's ref? Should be safe again next year when we have all forgotten about it (yeah right).

How can the FA bleat on about respect for referees when they behave so shabbily themselves? No grovelling letter of apology from Hackett within 48 hours for us. Just an unexplained 6 month delay and a warning not to moan next year when we get shafted again.

I'm fed up. I just read in the paper today about Moyes? disciplinary hearing with the FA. What pissed me off the most was the statement by them claiming, ?Having considered all of the evidence and submissions, the commission concluded that the comments would reasonably be interpreted as calling into question the referee's integrity and implying that he was motivated by bias?

AND WHAT? Of course he was fucking biased, did they see the same game? This is an absolute joke. Rather than warn Moyes, surely an investigation should have been carried out regarding Clattenberg?s performance on the day. If you look clearly at replays of the last penalty claim when Carragher blatantly pulls down Lescott, the referee is looking directly at them, obviously aware what had happened before then.

The Professional Game and Match Officials also decided not to release any more assessor reports. This sends a clear message to the rest of the league, the ?Sky 4? can do whatever they like, the referee will turn a blind eye and we?ll all make money together at the expense to the rest of you. Look at the Liverpool game when Stiles incorrectly gave Chelsea a penalty and he went as far as apologizing! The whole incident has just made me reflect on the state of modern day football.

It really makes me despair. Perhaps what goes on in England is not as transparent as what went on in Italy and nothing can never be proven but the repercussions are the same. Only two or three teams compete for championships and European cups thereby bringing in much more revenue than anyone else. They can buy better players and have bigger squads. Basically the ?Sky 4? have cemented their places in the champions league and I just don?t see anyone wrestling it from them. T

To be fair we did finish fourth three years ago but then what happened? UEFA ruled that those shower of bastards would still be able to enter. Again other clubs are screwed over with this shitty seeding system. We draw Villarreal who go all the way to the semi-finals while they get a string of teams no one has ever heard of.

How do you win? The odds are stacked completely against you. Even if by some chance you do qualify for Europe, the seeding system ensures that you won?t make it into the main competition. The reason for all of this comes back to one thing ? money. UEFA decide that not enough money will be brought in if a team like Everton play in the Champion?s League and so make sure we won?t make it that far.

Sorry for the rant like nature of this post but it just pisses me off year after year that the league isn?t competitive and the same four teams make more and more money.

I share the fustration which is why I only place bets during World Cups and European Championships. That way I’m safe in the knowledge that I didn’t lose to corruption (or hardly?)

Why don’t the sky4 teams each select different dedicated colours so consumers have more choices. 3 reds and 1 blue is surely bad marketing. Red, Green, Yellow and Blue say. Or how about pre and post-match trashtalk between the ’stars’, akin WWF, and where ’officials’ blatantly turn a blind eye and display utter favourism to the flavour of the month ’teams’.

The Premier League is a product. Maybe they could consider exporting some games overseas.. wait..

Ian, Clattenburg has taken charge of a match at Anfield this season.

Under the freedom of information act couldn’t a request be made to see the assessors’ reports and force them into release of information that should be in the public domain?

"The Professional Game and Match Officials also decided not to release any more assessor reports"

I don’t subscribe to the conspiracy theories idea but that one sentence screams of a cover up. It shows to me that te independent assessor must have slated Clottenberk to death and therefore would have proven old Davie’s comments..........but wait, they are now after 12 years not releasing any more report, why is that? Hmmmmm makes you think doesn’t it?

I’m sorry for posting a comment that has nothing to do with this article, however I believe I must alert everyone that Phil "Captain Fantastic" Neville has - yet again - came out and said that we must "bounce back" against Chelsea... oh dear.

How many times has he come out with that saying over the past 3 years? He needs to shut the fuck up and concentrate on his own game, which I might add is pretty fucking awful!

Up the blues.

Fuck FA, fuck Clattenberg. We lost and talking about it is not going to change the result. We need to focus on games there are still to come.

The FOI act only applies to the public sector I think...good idea otherwise though, I’d love to see that report!

Re: Jason...

Yeah, three teams in red.
Surprise surprise what the colour of Wembley’s seating is...

Has anybody noticed that Liverpool get way more dodgy decisions than Man U, Arsenal & Chelsea? Is this because the FA believe that the others are good enough to be up there off their own bat, but no so much our charming neighbours.

I could be wrong but I think, as Norman Merrill points out above, Clattenburg has indeed officiated at Anfield this season.

However, I think it was before the Goodison derby (Wigan, maybe?) and like Ian says it does make you wonder why he hasn?t been assigned to either of us since then (even as the fourth official).

Actually, it doesn?t make you wonder:it speaks volumes.

All this ’woe is me’ bullshit is tiring - for your own sanity let it go gents. Clattenburg made lots of mistakes in favour of the RS that day - everyone can see that, including non Evertonians (even my RS mates say the same!) DM made some comments that were bound to get him in deep water and he’s been told off for them the same as any other manager would. Spilt milk & all that....

I’m not going to go over the same ground as others, but I wanted to post to say to James and others who say "move on".

If the establishment is allowed to just get away with covering things like this up, do you think things will ever change? Look at the Iraq war and the way the Labour government were allowed to get away with lying to us about it.

Agree with John Nelson - these rallying cries are getting a bit thin aren?t they? Whose benefit are they for? Is it an effort to keep the players? morale up or is to sell tickets. Let?s be realistic - we haven?t got a snowball?s chance in hell of winning on Thursday night with the players we have at our disposal at the moment.

Our Davie was at the game presumably after his jolly at FA Headquarters but doubt he learnt very much if Chelsea?s "best team" were not playing deliberately.
I watched the Chelsea v Wigan game last night and it was mediocre to say the least. The statement was made that players such as Drogba, Ashley Cole, Carvallho etc. had not been played as Avram Grant felt Everton would be harder to break down than Wigan. Ends up a 1 - 1 result which serves him right.

Fellows blues

The fa are biased simple as that. Anyone with half a brian could see that calltenburg was influenced by gerrard. and yet the FA do not do any thing.

Sky Sports, BBC, ITV, Sentanta simply hate us. Why do you think forwared our match agiast Chelsea to Thursday. It is because they see EFC are tried out with of our extra match in Europe and they think forwarding mathc will make Everton drop more points this way.

PS

Mark Clattenburg has already took charge of a game with the RS it was their 2-2 draw with Villa, which Clattenburg gave the RS a dodgy free kick which gave them their second goal.

Exactly!

some top points raised Ian, obvious but worth the rant we have all been forced to inflict upon various colleagues and friends who "support" the RS

In response to those who claim we should role over and die yet again when being shafted by biased, kopite loving officials, I have to question how genuine they are as evertonians

true whatever we say we will undoubtedly face further bias, and the RS will recieve increasing amounts of assistance from referees. But the whole point of these message boards is to air your views so i refuse to let go of this injustice just yet. who knows one day we might get given a penalty in the league!
