Bad decisions?

Comments (5)

Well another pathetic case of men against boys. I am tired of watching the crap we have served up since Fiorentina. What has happened to the team that only lost 2 games in 20 odd games?

No Baines in the starting XI when he has been one of the highlights of the last couple of weeks, he could have made a difference down the left flank where I thought Ferreira was particularly weak.

Then there were the subs, what is Moyes thinking? Gravesen who we know can't do anything at this level anymore and Anichebe who hasn't done anything since the Brann away leg for our one attacking midfielder and Johnson. I recognise that Johnson has also done next to nothing for a while but surely he would have still been a bit more threatening on one of the flanks than Neville. It really frustrates me. Maybe there are some things that we just dont know as fans that are going on behind the scenes but there seemed no logical explanation for these subs.

One bright note from tonight is that Fernandes showed glimpses of the class we all know he has. He may be the difference between Uefa Cup football and nothing come May. These performances are following a worrying trend.

Ok - so we?ve not been playing well of late, but it?s been a long hard season and tonight showed a few shortcomings. The squad isn?t big enough, we know that, and Chelsea are a good team at absorbing pressure, but it highlighted how much we miss the outlet of Arteta to hold the ball up and perhaps more imprtantly the drive of Cahill.

I thought Carvallho (an excellent player, mind) was there to be got at - especially after a booking, and I?m sure Tim (or a fit Vaughny) wouldn?t have allowed him to have as easy a night.

Its not all doom and gloom though, we just need to build on the assets we have - again Lescott was immense going forward and in defence, but it is clear that we need a squad - yes a squad - capable of playing out a whole season including European competitions.

Lets keep fifth, build on that, and look forward to an exciting summer and an even better season...

We should now be trying to blood some of our youngsters, At least it might get Moyes to try somthing new and against the grain. While we continue to play Cars and Nev in the middle we damaging Yaks and Aj confidence just like he did with beattie last year, and no he is not playing at his level, he scored pleanty before joining us and also got his England caps. Anichebe is awful strong on the ball and thats all he is good for,he is always giving free kicks away. Why oh why Moyes dont you play Baines LB or LW great on the ball has a good cross and takes players on. I think Moyes needs to get his number 2 in place asap to help him with his tactics as tonight we could have got a goal if he went 433 we have nothing to lose, and a point tonight will give us a fighting chance of staying in 5th. If we dont change our way of playing we will finnish the season without scoring another goal. It is some of the worst football in the league and is getting right on my nerves. Peace

Was stunned when Moyes took off Pienaar and AJ for Gravesen and Anichebe. Was he trying to limit the damage to only one goal or was he having a crack at the win??? Still had one interchange left which wasn’t used. Inexcusable.

Cannot understand the logic of taking off Pienaar. Yes he lost the ball quite often but he was at least trying to make the play and pass forward!!! Neville has a dip but just doesn’t cut it for me. His cross in the last few minutes on the left side typifies his limitations.

Even the bloody commentators were mentioning his turnovers and lack of control and awareness when ball was in his area. How the fuck don’t the selectors see this shit!!!

Game was live at 3 in the morning in West Aussie. The game fucked up a good sleep as I was dreaming that we had a world class midfield with the likes of Arshavin and Requelme, instead I wake up to the nightmare of Carsley, Neville and Hibbert running around in our strip. The horror..............

Those statisticians amongst you, look at our record this season of games played with Tim Cahill in the team compared to the games he?s not. When you?ve done that, please explain to me why there are so-called experts who post here that think its a good idea to sell TC and why you are mystified as to why our performances have been less than first rate for the last few games.

But of course if you aren?t the eternal pessimist then you are shouted down immediately in here .... We got beat, anyone really surprised with TC and Mikel out? Can we improve? Of course we can with the right additions in the close season.

Another season where we?ve progressed, 3 games to go and 61 points gained, could be better but then we can?t afford to have a £30m player on the bench. Chelsea can!

"Chelsea are a good team at absorbing pressure", Sorry Andy did I miss something last night - what pressure was that - Hibbert hoofing that ball into touch, Neville or Gravesen passing to a Chelsea player!!

We were very poor - no ideas, and lacked any type of real quality - with one exception Manny who I thought did really well.
