Pienaar: 48 hours to deal?

Comments (3)

Official statement - Pienaar should sign within 48 hours. This comes out of the club on Monday. 120 hours ago!

Deja vu, anyone? We cocked up Fernandes last summer (a player I still think we should buy if the price is right). But Pienaar is more important - this opportunity cannot and must not be missed; but it would seem the club are doing their best to throw a spanner in the works. Unbelievable.

Ah but come on now... they didn't really mean it. It was just to calm people's nerves ahead of the (not so) big game! See below for more instructions on how to interpret deliberate misinformation provided to the the faitthful fans...

I am really starting to believe we really haven't got a pot to piss in. What happened to the Fernandes money from last August? What happened to the £5 million plus for Faddy? What about the Sky money for this year? Supposedly around 50 million...

I am wondering if Faddy had to be sold and also why our private benefactor, Phillip Green, is apparently uprooting to put his money in Spurs.

Why have the club gone totally silent on Kirkby? If it has got through to the players that there is no money for transfers and no money for Kirkby, maybe that's why they?re all lacking the will to win.

I may be totally wrong but a wheel well and truly fell off following our exit from the Uefa Cup.

Jay Harris, have you not heard of "its the Everton Way"? I don't know about the wheel falling off the wagon... it's more like the back axle!

Could someone point me towards an internet link for the "official statement" that he would sign in 48 hours? I don’t recall reading anything on the website. The Toffeeweb diary link for the 48 hours was this article on the Daily Mail website-

Which doesn’t say anything abut official, club spokesman, etc.

Now, I see why people are getting pissed off about the delay with regard to Pienaar, but blaming the board for not abiding by the Daily Mail’s timescale is a bit strange.
