He wouldn`t .... would he?

With Gordon Strachan looking to take another of his sabaticals from management (what must it be like to work when you want?) the Scottish Sundays have the choice for his successor as between David O`Leary and our own David Moyes. I know David has said he would like to manage in Scotland ONE DAY but I cannot believe that the pull of his `mother club` would drag him away from Everton at this time.
I suspect that it will need only confirmation of our European qualification to get Davey and the Board to thrash out both his revised contract and the budget for next season. That`s what makes the outcome of today`s game against Newcatle so vital.

Of course we could have done better in games against Reading, Fulham etc.. but every team in the league can say the same.
The teams above us are already better than us.. and they will all be given more funds than us to further consolidate their position. And much as I think that a decent amount of money, spent wisely, could bring us closer, we still need to be realistic and know that consolidating our place as "Best of The Rest" may be the best we can achieve.
Saying that, the ultimate football theory of anybody can beat anybody else on their day may well see us in a cup final and ultimately with some silverware.
But by any standards ? bar those of over 20 years ago ? this has been a great season: a great run in Europe, a cup semi final, and our higest points total. Most wins and most goals scored in the Premier league.
Well done David Moyes and all the players.

I believe this will turn out to be our best season of the entire decade. Moyes has reached the top of the mountain. He is the King of the Also-Rans! If he decides he is ready to go to a big club, he seems very unlikely to be asked to manage an English Premier Top 4 club so, IF (and I am not convinced that Celtic - still in with a great chance of taking their third championship in a row - will sack Gordon Strachan) the Celtic job is offered, he would probably be daft to turn that down.
At best the future prospect for Moyes at Goodsion is no better than ?another of the same? with no sign of cups as we still ?don?t do cup ties?..........ask Oldham!
Interesting times at Goodison for sure !

I?m having a tenner on Sam Allardyce being our manager for next season.

I dread the thought of Allardyce "the killer of the beautiful game" but he would fit in well with the other two shysters and has experience playing in the Reebok crematorium.

Moysie obviously sees an opportunity to really push on next season and wants some decent funds to try and improve the squad and maybe give the top four a bigger and better push next year. Moyes knows we?ll miss a trick next year if we don't spend big this summer because the teams below us like Spurs, Newcastle, Villa, Blackburn, Portsmouth and even West Ham will definitely spend for next season.
We've seriously got to spend next season to try and stay ahead of the rest and give it ago against the top four. If the board don't give him what he wants then these last two good seasons we've had will be of a waste of time. If the Board are not prepared to improve on it and give Moyes the money to do just that, then I wouldn't blame Moyes for wanting to fuck off!!!
