There has been a great deal of credit attibuted to Bill Kenwright for having faith in David Moyes. Without Moyes the club was in dire trouble and his shrewd Scottish approach has drawn the best out of many within the squad. Indeed many have said that he has them punching over their weight.
I think it was more a case of Moyes delivering solid performances than faith from BK. I remember how much BK would praise Walter Smith. I guess you're only as good as your last game. It's a shame that doesn't apply to the board. Can you imagine if it was the board that was sacked for poor performances instead of the manager? Now that would bring accountability back into the game!

Did?nt you know Bill talks to David every day (the same as he did with Walter).
It?s only a pity that Moyes?s contract didn?t come up in those daily conversations.
We still wait patiently as ever.
Maybe if we had the impatience of the RS we would have forced "Black Bill" out by now.

There?s pointing out that Kirkby is a bloody big mistake and that our Marketing and Comercial Depts are fucking shite, but this is just mindless Board bashing.
I have always been pro-Moyes, but on occasions we have been bloody awful (Spring 04 and Autumn 05 spring to mind) and at some Clubs he?d have got the bullet. But BK did back him and it came good both times.
There?s been good and bad management at EFC in the last 8 years, but in any business people who own the business don?t sack themselves, they just carry on.
That?s the reality of it really. Hoping they?ll leave or something is pointless. All we can do is try and make them listen.

The focal point is the manager because he is repsonsible for how the team plays, but even he can only do so much.
At a board level the CEO is responsible for how the operations of the club are run. I suppose you want to tell me EFC is run brilliantly?
The Cjairman and board are responsible for strategy and major club decisions like investment, location and fundinhg. You want to tell me that is brilliant too?
If the club is to improve one has to embrace some change, but that change has to be judged as successful or not at some point. That is the responsibility of the board. No less. Make a bad call and they should be held accountable.
The comment I made was a light hearted take on a general situation in football with both praise and critisism leveled at managers, not so to the board which operates (silently) in the background.

But, money, deals, transfers etc are often made without much consultation to the manager. The manager has to make do with what the board feel they can justify.
Should not they be held accountable too?

As for mindless board bashing, perhaps a competent board that didn?t condescend to it?s own supporters or play propaganda games with them may be open to level discussion. The board at EFC however seem hellbent on annoying everyone one of us, it just hasn?t got around to you yet.

Lately it has become noticeable that a growing number of mailbaggers are sick and tired of it. I most certainly am and will continue to demand fairness in debate.
There is of course the possibility that my view may not coincide with TW's editor in which case he may excercise his right of ownership by declaring me to be persona non gratis.

No Evertonian should be Persona Non Gratis which is why you shouldnt knock Evertonians who dont see it your way.
For me, I have followed Everton for 50 years and am sick to the teeth of Kenwright’s constant stream of lies and charades.
I dont hate the man but Chairman of EFC he certainly aint.
John Moores would turn in his grave at what this man has done.
Now I have completely the opposite view of DM who I see as a principled dignified man who has generated a real "esprit de corps" at the club and but for that I feel even people like yourself who are obviously loyal to the club would see it differently.
I wonder how you will feel if the "Nudes of the World" is correct and that Moyes has been told to sell players before he can buy and therefore does not sign a new contract.

I?ve noticed over time that you do seem to be increasingly intent on falling foul of the TW Blue Pencil. It seems more frequent of late; your increasing intolerance for those with a differing viewpoint, such as the anti-Kirkbyites, and anyone who dares question the goings on inside Goodison...
Just a reminder: this is an Independent Everton Website. We encourage open discussion about any topic as long as it is Everton-related. But we have little to no patience for anyone who seeks to stiffle that discussion ? especially if it reflects a deviation from their personal agenda.
Please desist from condemning others for voicing their opinions. I don?t mind you disagreeing with them or trying to explain how they may be misguided, but please drop the name-calling, the "Everton-bashing" labels, and other such negative put-downs. It won?t stop people from writing what they feel and it certainly won?t stop us from publishing such items.
