Does he know something?

So our revered chairman has fallen out of love with the Government. Mr Kenwright, who has given £255,000 to the Labour Party over the last year, is reported to have said yesterday, "I think the Government has lost all touch with the people. The leadership has to look at itself very deeply. There appears to have been a bit of an energy bypass recently."

Now that`s a very strange thing to be coming out with as our club awaits a vital decision from Government Office. Unless,of course, he already knows the outcome and said it in a fit of pique. And after `investing` all that money, too! (Although that was probably for the knighthood!)

I have just read that Kenwright is a donor to the Labour Government. Shall be interesting to see if his close ties with the Government can swing the move to Kirby... Have a read - http://news.uk.msn.com/Article.aspx?cp-documentid=8741779.

Surely you’re not suggesting that our cherished government can be bought !?

If they can be bought, then i guess it costs more than £255,000.

Gordon Brown and BK are boths symptoms of the same problem. They have plenty of desire to do a job but just arent cut out for it.

Brown was a really good chancellor but is a poor PM.

BK was a really good impersario but is a poor chariman for all his want to do a good job he is failing the club.

When brown loses his job I think we should seriously hire him to conduct our finances.

Where are we going to find a can do figurehead like Tony Blair rather than a cant do like BK.

Lets hope this sham gets called in before we end up naked, everyone laughing at us while we believe were part of the new trend. Has BK not read the ’emperors new cloths’ by Hans Anderson?

KW and Tesco are the two swindlers hired to build a new stadium, they trick him, everyone laughs, oh how he has been tricked, but to save looking stupid he goes along with despite the ridicule.

What a fool!

Well, here are the options.

1) BK has heard, it?s gone against him and this his him lashing out.

2) BK has heard, it?s gone HIS way and this is what he sees as a rather good double-bluff. (eg: Three weeks from now: Hazel Blears says..?Of COURSE it was above-board, in fact only three weeks ago the Government was criticised by Mr Kenwright. However we didn’t hold it against him and judged the case purely on it’s merits...blah")

3) BK hasn’t heard and has just made (ANOTHER) stupid call.

4) BK hasn’t heard, but isn’t worried as he knows what £200 Grand in the right palm can buy (has bought?)

(4 I reckon)

I think it is scurrilous to suggest that Mr Kenwright’s investment in the Labour Party was in any way related to the application to build at Kirkby. It is very well known that he has been a lifetime supporter of the party and has made similar donations throughout his business life.
But what if ( and I know it wasn’t)it were to be an inducement, would that be so bad? I just wonder how many Evertonians would be prepared to put up such an amount for the cause with absolutely no guarantee of getting the right result?
Hats off to Bill,I say!

Richard Dodd,
Your blind faith in the board obviously carries over to the present government. Thank God you are in a minority on both counts.

Richard, says..

"Hats off to Bill, I say!"

Disagree of course, but how can one get angry at someone who uses ’hats off’ in the 21st century.

I find it rather....charming.

Er...TED!

If Kenwright does get a Knighthood, it certainly won't be for services to Everton.OK he touched lucky with choosing Moyes but in every other respect he?s a fucking disaster!
Richard Dodd

Sorry Stan, but is Bill Kenwright any less worthy of a knighthood than his illustrious predecessors, Sir John Moores and Sir Philip Carter? All have served our club and our city well and should command our utmost respect.

As a bald man, I have no forelock to tug when in the presence of my superiors, so, Richard, I leave that to you.

Unlike some on this board, I don?t reserve opprobrium for Bill Kenwright; I feel it o only fair to share it out, so here goes.

John Moores gained kudos from his tenure at Everton and while the club prospered for seven years and gained a new main stand, when he left, the club were buggered because of his lack of foresight or forward planning. We were a duck, not exactly dead, but seriously wounded. Carter, whom he bequeathed to us, struck me as a charming man, but again with no vision.

The complexities of our current situation can be traced to lack of vision over a number of years; dwindling support because of lack of CONSISTENT success and the failure of the ostriches in the boardroom over a number of years to find anyone with serious dosh.

Why they have failed in this crucial search for investment is a matter for them to ponder and us to rue.

Your asertion that any of these people deserve a round of applause is breathtaking in its blind refusal to see what?s happened to the club over the years, the lousy facilities, the deceit and the patronisation of overly patient fans.

Tell Golden Brown to sack badger eye brows and make KW his replacement, never known anyone able to bullshit more about money in my life, oh then suppose fuel really would go to a fiver a litre and everything else while he opens a company that specialises in selling fuel and if we didn’t buy from his company our cars would fall to pieces but it would be a deal of the century.

"When Brown loses his job we should hire hime to conduct our finaces" !!!!!! Paul - so you reckon he would do a good job in conducting our finances ???? I am not sure many would agree with you there!!

As regards BK - does the name Peter Johnson ring any bells ?

I am not saying that BK never makes mistakes - but at least the guy wants the best for Everton.I doubt very much that was the case with Johnson.

Is it really so bad that the rule of law can be undermined by a few sheckles...In short, yes!

Makes me laugh when i read the words [ARE BOARD] we havent got a board, weve got BK going home every night crying himself to sleep, knowing that he has been tricked by Windness and, Leah to go to Kirby, when deep down he knows we should be doing Goodison Park up and staying in are Peoples Club home, By the way love to have a fair vote to stay or move now ,[not in August ],when i and four other members of my family were away on hoiliday like thousands of other seson ticket holders were also away, i bet it would be over ninety percent to stay. i would rather go accross the Mersey and watch Tranmere , than go to Kirby .WHAT HAVE YOU DOING BILL.

Oh and to Micheal O’Brien - Brown is well regarded as having been a very good Chancellor......though his leadership qualities are clearly suspect and he’s dragging the party down by all accounts.

Sadly its going to be a Tory government very soon.

I think there is a lot of fair and honest comments, but let's stop the moaning and let's do something about it. BK has taken us much further than he would have dreamed. How he can look at us in the eyes and tell us no investors have tried....100% rubbish! South African consortium tried to meet with him 6 months ago and he slammed the door in their faces... FACT!!!!. We are the People's Club but being treated like animals. We are a laughing stock and BK needs to be honest about it. COYB.

James, Gordon Brown was a good chancellor in a economic spring....

He had to do very little..and that is widely acknowledged.

As for the question of what governments have to do with knighthoods...er...they provide the list.
