Is it just me or does Biffa look like he's lost about 2 stone?
Let's hope he gets some more pies down him before the season starts or we won't have anything to moan about.... apart from moving house, only pretending to sign Argentinians, and Blue Bill's new "Tragedy in 38 Parts" that is. Rah to all things Blue

He actually lost a lot of weight last season but no one seemed to notice because of his poor form. To be honest with you I think he needs to be bulky. If you take weight off him then there is nothing to his game. It's never going to improve his pace and his workrate is good anyway. I would have liked to have seen him leave last season but it looks like he is going to stay. May as well give him a forth chance. I also seen Van der Meyde. He is also looking a lot trimmer. No Fernandes and probably wont see him again. Jagielka probably next week depending on West ham and Sheff Utd.

I noticed the same thing. Beattie definitely looks like he has been putting in his work during the offseason. Maybe his motivation to prove himself is going to be back this season. Ya never know, he could actually be valuable to us after seeing himself fall so far down the pecking order. I have the same hope for Van Der Meyde, if he’s been working hard to get himself in top shape after being left out of the team, he could also surprise us. The good thing is that we are not putting all our eggs in that basket, but it would be a very valuable surprise.

If you look behind Moyes as well, Bjarni is right there with them. Perhaps he’s going to figure this term in the way Vaughan/Anichebe did last season?

I noticed that Connor, he did have a particularly bad season but I would give him a chance especially given that he appears to have put alot of work in in his own time.
We have alot of games this season so I would hang on to him at least until January and see what happens - He could set the world on fire again!
We could then use him (assuming he hasn’t proved himself!) in a deal to bring Mr Nugent in at a far more realistic price!!

I think to quote players doing things on their own time is a bit naive, Biffa has been on a good screw since he signed, has barely played or impressed when he has, looks to have spent plenty of time "indulging" and buying a nice motor all on the "club’s time" that’s the time supporters pay for. The game has changed from even 10-15 years ago, don’t think most players would give mere mortals the time of day, it’s all cash and most people in the same position would be daft to turn it down.
