Man U Reserves

Comments (20)

Has anyone seen Sky Sports Transfer news this morning? According to that, David Moyes is spending £17 million on Koumas, and Keiran Richardson and Alan Smith. What is it with EFC that they are always buying Man U cast offs? Have we a special contract with them or something or does Davey's admiration for Sir Alex go that deep?

`Moyes sets up £17M swoop` screams the Daily Mail headline. According to Kewright`s mate, John Edwards, Jagielka, Smith, Richardson and Koumas are all on their way to Goodison. Like most Evertonians, I`ll believe it only when the ink`s dry as the story has Billy Bullshit spin written all over it. What a shame it will be when we just miss out on Smith (again), Richardson decides to stay at Old Trafford and Koumas ends up.... well anywhere! But the good news is that Tim and Arty have pledged their futures and... I nearly forgot, we`ve secured Jagielka... at last. What a summer it`s been!

If Smith remains fit I think he’s still a class act. And Richardson does have some talent, although I don’t think he’s really the type of player we need at the moment. Left-mid ok, but I’d like to see someone with a little more flair.

Smith = good signing in anyones book, works hard, strong, good ball winner, can finish too.

Richardson = can play either side of midfield, has flair, pace, young, English, can also finish.

Koumas = Jason who?!?

Jagielka = plays in lots of positions, strong, committed, good brain, great player to have in your squad.

The first 2 also have a fair bit of European experience between them, something that could certainly help us next season. ALl in all I reckon these are good choices, plus the Baines deal may or may not happen and we need a left back.

Brian, where does it say we have ’secured’ Mr Jagielka?? Unless it’s via the OSC then i don’t believe we have actually bought anyone....????

Please can we restrict the term "cast offs" to players whose club allows their contract to expire such as Pistone, Wright, etc. Smith and Richardson played significant roles in Man U’s champions league campaign, they will not be leaving unless someone coughs up a few million for them. We can debate whether they’re worthy of wearing the royal blue shirt, but there’s no reason to denigrate them as cast-offs.

Would be happy with Smith. The others decent additions to squad. Besides Jagielka who can probably play along the backline, still need a dedicated centre back though.

If it is true and we do end up going in for Alan Smith what a joke that would be.The lad is only half decent at best but the type of injury he has had makes him a very risky buy.

No player is ever the same after
having his leg shattered in a million places .I say dont touch him Nuggents a far better prospect.

Who on earth said that Smith was half decent and a good finisher? He played 18 games for Manyoo last season and socred how many.... 1. Good finisher - just like Beattie you mean?

Seriously, who the hell are all these Man U cast offs that we have been signing. I keep hearing people say this but can’t seem to find anybody to give a list. We have Howard and Neville, that’s it!!!!!!!!!!! What the hell was so bad about signing Howard from them??!!! Didn’t we sign Kanchelskis from them years ago? Was he a terrible player. And Marsh, if we sign Nugent you know damn well you’d be on here in a second saying we shouldn’t have spent on an unproven quantity like him. Smith came back from his injury last year and figured in many of United’s games as Saha was injured for the end of the season. Smith’s leg is fine, otherwise he wouldn’t pass a medical in the first place.

Davey Boy Barks ask any one who has ever played a contact sport proffesionally and they will tell you that players returning from serious injuries like the one suffered by Smith are never the same. How can they be?

As for Nuggent I am all for signing him.I have seen enough of him in the last 2 years to know
that he is class. When was the last time a player from the lower leagues got an England cap?

Scores great goals, can run past players and has great ability on the ball dribbling.Very rare in a modern footballer to posses these qualities. A good manager will get the best out of him and turn him into a superstar...

Then again best not let Moyes get hold of him flair and footballing skills are low down on Moyes,s list of requirements from a player. Stick with a utility carthorse like Smith shall we.

No you’re right, Moyes definitely hasn’t got the best out of Arteta has he Tony?

Right Tony, Arteta has really fallen apart since signing for us, as has Cahill been terrible, and young Vaughan is really struggling to develop under Moyes. And Johnson has turned into a terrible player in his one season under Moyes too, right? Read what you write before you click the submit button and ask yourself, am I making sense with this?

....oh and by the way I really do fucking hate every single former and current ManU player, manager and fan. They are scum the lot of them, and I hope none of them ever come to Everton except to get beat.
Dissect that will ya?

Where did that come from Marc? I disagree with Marsh and that’s the response I get from you. WOW!!! Is there no free speech on this site? Ofcourse there is, that’s why all of us like it so much. Different opinions for all of us to see. And I’ll dissect that last comment since you asked me to. Do you want to get rid of Howard and have Wright back? Get over your hatred man, it’s just not healthy. But I did notice that you couldn’t dispute any of my comments, just called for me to be banned.

Why are they cast offs? Because they cant get into the best team in england. The way I look at it is they will improve our squad.

Phil Jagielka: He in my opinion will be our most important signing of the summer. He is strong and a very hard worker and he will also add height to our midfield when needed.

Alan Smith: Strong, commited and a real winner. Nugent may be an evertonian but that does not mean he will try anyharder than the likes of Smith.

Kieran Richardson: It is obvious one of the most important things we are lacking from midfield is pace and a left foot. Richardson offers both in abundance. He may have his head in the clouds now but he will be taken down a level and hopefully fullfil his potential.

Jason Koumas: He may suprise many people. He may be 27 and a boyhood liverpool fan but I think he is ready to step up into the prem. He is a flair player. He has pace, skills and a good passing range. I think if the money is right then we should take a gamble on him.

If you look at all four players they are all Moyes type players. Versatile, Hardworking with talent in certain areas.

Tony’s comments on Nugent where funny. A little over exaggerated comment. Yes Nugent is a good player but a flair player he is not. A few skills does not mean the boy is technically gifted. If you actually look at him he is not that quick. Vaughan and Johnson would leave him for dead.

LOL. How’s your search for a new team going there Alesandro? We won’t call you a cast off, just, umm, erm, how about giving you a new lease on life.

What happened to the £10Mil we were meant to be spending on Downing?
