The Mail Bag

Squad Numbers.

Annoyed to see Beattie keeping the No 9. Can we have an opinion poll on who is the worst Everton player ever to wear the great No 9? Beattie gets my vote. AVDM keeps the no 7, but I'm not so down about this, I still dream that we will see his potential.

The only reason that Howard is still No.24 is that he personally preferred to keep that number. I have no doubts he was offered the No.1. The same reason that Cahill is still No.17 and Osman is No.21.

For all us slightly older blues..can anyone think of a worse number nine than Rod Belfitt?-I think he was part- exchanged for David Johnson when he was transferred to Ipswich circa 1971.
