Number 1?

Is there a reason why Tim has not been given the Number 1 shirt? Is it because of Southall and what about the number 10 shirt? Could someone please clarify this.

Could be any number of things, Lee. Maybe Howard prefers to keep his number for superstitious reasons. Maybe Moyes has a world-beating midfielder lined up to take the no. 10 jersey... Nurse!

Am I right in thinking a certain Argentine playmaker likes to wear the number 10 jersey

You sure are :) I can’t help thinkin that we may actually sign Riquelme as I believe that the ’error’ is a bit suspicious. How do we know that the error isnt that it was put on too early. After all he is still at the Copa America. Let’s just wait and see...

He?s supposed to be signing for Atletico Madrid lads. I wouldn?t get too hopeful. Don?t get me wrong, it?d be immense but, don?t get too excited.

If we sign Jaun...fuck me...

The grins...just imagine the size of the grins.

Come on Dave, surprise us!

Maybe DM’s saving it for Flamini? More likely though it’ll be Smith and will be another wasted number like 9...

What’s the point in not getting excited, isn’t that what speculation is all about? Besides it’s in our blue blood to built up and then knocked back down.

with regards to OS ’error’. Why would you print a THAT fabricated story as test data, why not go the whole hog and say that we had signed Ronadlinho. It just seems strange after all the rumours flying around about that particular player.

I’m a bit disappointed to see Kissock hasn’t been given a number. I’d have thought this might be the season when he would start turning up on the bench for the odd Carling Cup match or some such. He seems to have all the skills to succeed, but maybe not the strength. Let’s hope he finds some, he could in time give us the extra flair we need and apparently aren’t going to get from Fernandes.

Have to agree with Dave Park about getting excited. Indeed why is it called the close season if not because we come so close to signing these star players?

Just watched a video (http://www.morefoot.com/actualite-5288.html) of a particular Argentine N° 10 who is probably not signing for us and I?m still wiping the dribble off my desk.

Back to terra firma...

I for one do not believe the "error" explanation either. Why wouldn?t they use a name like "Snigatellee" or some such psudenym instead of such a known internationals name? Smells on the fishy side (maybe being too optimistic??), and, as pointed out above, he wears the Number 10.

LoL I for one would love to believe this and like the rest of you I find it a little suspicous that it was this data that was ?fabricated? for a test. However...

This is Everton and if I?ve learnt one thing over the years it?s don?t get too carried away or at all excited. You?ll be left feeling very disappointed. After all it could make perfect sense to elaborate on all the rumours for test data depending on how you look at it :-(

It was probably used as test data by an LFC fan who works for the web company as a joke because of the crappy rumour which was started in the first place just to see who’d follow it up. It is obviously not random chance, but I doubt it means anything.

Riquelme has said I think on a number of occassions how he liked english football but he considers his young family to be the mist important factor and he wouldn't want to move to a country that doesnt speak spanish.

Would be mint like wouldn't it though?!

If we sign Riquelme i’ll crawl from my house in Cambridge to Goodison and whistle "if you know your history" all the way.

Unfortnately I think i’ll be staying put for the time being.

"Riquelme has said I think on a number of occassions how he liked english football but he considers his young family to be the mist important factor and he wouldn't want to move to a country that doesn't speak Spanish."

Well, not the whole country not even the whole city, but...:)

If anyone wants to hazzard a guess at our next few signings and a departure read the BBC article by Philip Mcnulty dated 30th June- may be more accurate than it seems shortly.

Ian,

if we sign Riquelme, I’ll ride you all the way from cambridge to goodison. And I dont mean with a saddle...

Look fella’s, there is nothing surprising about the "error". Is it so shocking that EFC might actually have - Shock, Horror! An everton fan as a web page editor/webmaster? Should that not same everton fan actually dream, have a laugh, have a play, occasionally?

I seem to think there are more than enough dreaming evertonians around here, for example...

I think it was just a prank regards Riquelme. He is too much of a high profile player for his signing to be kept quiet. But,on the other hand isn’t it the everton way....?

Seems that the vacant N0 10 Shirt is really kicking up a storm and with the Riquelme rumour still gathering pace, wishful thinking or not I would guess that this is the player that is interesting most. It goes without saying that Riquelme is quality, almost beyong our wildest dreams, but hey what’s the reality Koumas, Smith or Richardson donning the shirt and thats the reason why this rumour has gathered pace.

Doesnt David Nugent also wear No. 10 for Preston.
