Tough second season

Comments (2)

There is a lot of posts suggesting that we don't need to buy someone of the likes of Smith or Nugent because of the quality of the young forwards we already have at our disposal.

Whilst I agree that the two youngsters, in particular Vaughan, are exciting prospects I would remind my fellow blue noses that both lads are entering their 'tough second season' and perhaps an experienced player like Smith would be good to have around while they continue to develop and play more of a bit part - I say experienced knowing that he's not played for Man Utd too regularly but he was star player for Leeds week in week out for a good few years, performing well in Europe and gaining international experience along the way.

Going back to the youngsters ... there's a lot of people calling for a left winger / midfielder which I agree is a bit of a problem position for us at the minute, particularly if terms of cover. I'm surprised, though, that more people haven't mentioned the lad John Paul Kissock on here, I saw him play for the reserves and he looked class. Maybe a few afternoons warming the bench/ carling cup sub appearances for him this season or next?

I’m surprised Kissock hasn’t been featured as well. Excellent young player, maybe he just needs a season in and around the first team to bring him on to the next step.

Yes, Kissock reminds me of a mop-haired Juninho. Bright, lively and always looking for a cheeky one-two. Too small for Moyes though I reckon, should send him out on loan first.
