Well Go Then...

Comments (10)

As all of you who read this are, I am an Evertonian, born & bred. Since I knew football, I have been Everton. I love the various websites (especially this one) where I hear other Evertonians' opinions, gripes, stories, etc, but something has got my goat. There is a growing number of people who write in or comment on these sites with a gripe, which could be about anything, then seem to end thier statement with, "you may lose this fan," or, "I've been a supporter since x but no more," or the worst one, "You have succeeded in driving away this particular supporter..."

This has to stop! If you're serious then fuck off, we don't want you anyway you lightweight gobshite, go and support that shower or the Mancs. If you're saying it for effect then stop it, because it makes you look like a tit and whatever argument your making loses merit because of such a statement.

Anyway, rant over, I love it when the Blues are on here making their feelings opinions know, getting into debates etc. but PLEASE refrain from them daft statements or I'm getting Andy Van der Meyde to come to your work's night out, get pissed, get off with your boss and drink your free ale!! Come on you Blues!

Criticism and debate is good, but the types of remarks that you pointed out are ridiculous. Well said.

Don’t remember reading any of these comments recently. In fact I would think posting those sentiments are cathartic and probably ensure the continued support of the club through hard times. Besides which I don’t imagine there to be many plastic Evertonians , I mean really why would they bother, it’s difficult enough being a fully fledged blue by birth.

Born and bred a blue too, there is and will only ever be one club I support, now and always - wherever we end up !

Why does saying you are not going make you a plastic fan? I'll bet I've seen a lot more Everton games over the last 50 years than these dickheads. So if you're a blue, you can't have principles? I feel moving to Kirkby is wrong and don?t want to play a part in it. I will still go to away games and I don?t think this will make those in charge change their mind. I feel as I've been going since 1958 I am entitled to do what I want without these stupid comments. Do you really think after 50 years I have thought oh shit that?s 4 miles more to travel... yet Pompey away is fine? Have a word with yourselves. I don?t judge those voting for it so do not judge me.

John Lloyd, I agree with so much of what you say. I was born in Everton, (Havelock St) in 1957. The thought of being anything other than an Evertonian has never crossed my mind. I have paid a lot of money to watch some great teams and I have paid a lot of money to watch some not so great teams in my time. However I think I speak for a lot of fellow Blues when I say: "If I don’t like what I see, then I will let anyone and everyone know, whether they like to hear it or not". The main point of your argument I agree with 100%. And I would like to add my own little bit: "If anyone is not 100% behind Everton FC then Fuck Off". Moan and complain, as is your right, but, don’t threaten or imply that you will no longer be an Evertonian. To do so is to undermine what we are and to prove what we know is wrong with other "Fans" who follow the team they perceive to be the best at the time. It?s really simple; You are with us, or, You are not with us. Nil Satis Nisi Optimum.

Roy, I don’t think he was talking about people not going to games at Kirkby. I don’t think he mentioned the proposed stadium move at all. I believe he is talking about some people who say they are no longer going to support this club because of lack of ambition, or lack of signings or whatever it is they complain about that day. That said, I can’t believe that after supporting Everton for 50 years you would never step foot inside a new stadium in Kirkby after our Blues have finally got a good team going playing in Europe. Vote against it if that’s how you feel, I am undecided myself, but join the rest of your fellow Evertonians wherever the team plays. We need all the supporters we can get singing and cheering on the boys in Blue. When your political party loses an election you don’t leave the country and renounce your citizenship and we don’t want you too. But perhaps the two of you have argued in a post before and I am unaware of it.

First, Dave, I have never said I would stop supporting Everton as I have stated I will still be going to the away games and as you say when the time comes I might not be as sure asI am about not going indeed my wife is willing to bet me I will end up with a season ticket there if we go But I have a horrible feeling it will be the beginning of the demise of us and would rather not witness it but as I'm reminded when I was a lot younger I would come home and wonder why I go as over the 49 full seasons I've watched, for every great player theres been a Bernie Wright. I can remember my first tantrum when we were selling Dave Hickson to Liverpool a guy ran on with a banner "if Dave goes we all do" and I thought hes right but my dad said the club comes first which it has if I could just believe what Kenwright says Id feel better as any one of us can make mistakes but its his blatant lies that leave me doubtful if the move happens and Im proved to be a old fart no one would be happier than me.

Well said Roy. I just hope I make it long enough to be able to watch Everton for 50 years. I can’t say I have a great feeling about a move either, but I hope that enough information is released to give us an accurate idea about what it will be. Who knows, Kenwright just might surprise us and be playing hardball with the Liverpool Council to finally get them to give us another option. I know about the Kings Dock fall through, but hopefully the Council can work with us and get something done.
