Investment?

I often see from scouring these pages that a lot of people are not happpy with BK because of his 'alleged' holding back of the club. With money being poured into Premier League football from all over the world, people are wondering why a seemingly attractive purchase like Everton have not been snapped up.

I personally have always been a bit dubious of all these foreign takeovers, as I think it can all get a bit silly. Man City offering £30 million for Torres? Scott Parker on £90k a week! Ninety grand!! Unbelievable!!!

If BK decided to jump ship and sold us to the Sultan of Brunei or the PM of Thailand, I would be very worried about the money being spent at the club. What will happen at West Ham if Egghead decides he's had enough? For a start, he's not a West Ham fan is he? Not really. If he decides to do one in the next 5 years or so who would want to pay mega bucks for the Hammers? West Ham are not a massive club whatever they think and certainly not a worldwide brand. They are going to have all kinds on their books like Bellend, sorry Bellamy, Upson and Parker all raking in upwards of £60-70k a week. Can you really see anyone prepared to take the club off his hands? If Egghead does decide to leave what will happen to all these players and more importantly, the club? I can seriously see a Leeds Utd situation happening again sometime in the near future. Are Leeds United still paying Robbie Fowler wages whilst they are in the First Division and he watches Homes Under the Hammer?

Also, this may sound a bit xenophobic, but all these foreign investors seem a bit dodgy to me. Russian billionaires and that Thai PM who seems to be in more shit every time I pick up a paper. I may be being a bit naive, who knows, but I for one am not too worried about BK being in charge at Goodison and the lack of investment. Ask yourself this: Do you really want Everton to be owned by an Arab Investment Group or by a man who supports and loves the club. I know who I'd plumb for.

I see where you are coming from and I do agree I don?t really want our club to be owned by a man who is being investigated for corruption in his home country or to be offering average players like Zamora and Parker a ridiculous weekly wage but I would love us to be one of these clubs who supposedly have £30m to spend - I guess its a balancing act

I see what you saying francis. We dont want some dodgy russian bloke or somebody like egghead or even that thai bloke at man city running our club. What would be ideal is if some billionare who happens to be an evertonian bought the club but cant see that happening.

Could you lend the club some money francis??

Just heard off Talksport the reporter for the Times discussing Everton transfer policy. He basically said if a player is worth £4 million, Everton will bid two! Then will make a who har about wanting to sign a player, then ultimately will miss out on the target. The reporter said 'typical' Everton ever since Kendall left.

Says it all, even though the reporter is a Kopite. We will never get the best if we shop at Happy Shopper!

Cahill 2 mil, Arteta 2mil, Lescott2mil (risingto5), Yobo 5mil, Howard 3mil, all of these players are now worth far more than we payed. From that 17mil we could probably recieve 30+. I don’t think Moyes transfer policy is rubbish, its just sensible. It maybe a bit boring during the summer not to sign someone every week, but thats the summer, its not just about buying but improving what you have. This is what Moyes is doing, Say we signed Jagielka, in a week or so we will get a midfielder and maybe another defender and striker, but why spend money on rubbish. If a player is worth 4 mil we will pay 4mil (Jagielka) but if a player is worth 4 mil and the club wants 6mi we will offer 4mil (Nugent), that is the correct strategy. If you want a pint of lager, go to the pub and ther barman says £6, do you say ok i’ll pay it or say I can get just as good a pint for £2 somewhere else? Look at all the expensive flops in the past, what if we blow our budget on that, then were knackered. We a developing, I remeber people calling for Moyes head when we pulled out of deals for Forssell(3mil) and Davis(5mil), saying we will regret mot paying money due to slight injuries. Look at them now! who made the correct decision? MOYES, I believe he will do right again. also don’t listen to a kopite on talksport, he just talks crap.

Well doesn?t everybody have lovely rose tinted glasses when it comes to Kenwright & Moyes.
Yes he made 3 great signings last summer no doubt about it.But what about summer 05 which shoudl?ve been a glorious summer with people actually falling over themselves to get to Everton because of european football & what do we get Simon Davies,Per "who" Kroldrup & Andy "I wasn?t injured honest" Van Der Meyde all thses were basically deadline day signings because of Blue Bill and Dithering Dave?s ineptitude in the transfer market.
Here we are summer 07 back in europe and who do we have so far Phil Jagielka who Walter Smith thought wasn?t up to the mark.
We also have players like Nugent, Koumas, Alan Smith & Richardson, banging the door off it?s hinges to play for Everton and what do we get Sweet FA that?s what.
Oh they?ll come out with the usual crap like signing Tiny Tim & Mikel on long term deals is like signing two new players, well it isn?t!
Moyes only has a plan A and this year it was Jagielka so don?t be expecting any more.
I hope I?m wrong and that we go on a long run in the Uefa cup but anybody want to put money on it ?
Oh and Billy Boy WHERE?S THE MONEY GONE?

It would be totally wrong to blame Moyes and accuse him of only having Jagielka in his transfer plans. The truth of the matter is there are several players just waiting for the green light to sign but unfortunately yet again Everton are being let down by an inept Board, that cannot raise the funds at present for the player Moyes wants. So blame BK, Bully and their cronies, but leave Moyes out of it for once as he?s no doubt thinking "Why the heck am I compelled to stay at a club that won?t back me?" Maybe speaking too soon but money talks so let's have some from anywhere.
