Richardson & Nolan?

Comments (31)

Apparently Kieran Richardson arrived at Bellefield this morning for his medical and Kevin Nolan has also reportedly been spotted arriving for a meeting.

Richardson is one of Man Utd's most average players but he is young and at £2.5 million should give Moyes squad options. I think Richardson has too often been used as a spare part at Old Trafford and hopefully he will relish being more involved at Everton. If Moyes gets the best out of him he could prove useful.

Nolan has gone off the boil recently but the prospect of a fresh challenge should relaunch his form and England aspirations. If Nolan can recapture his form of a couple of season ago then his signature will prove a major coup for Moyes.

I'm a big Moyes fan as you know but I have to admit the prospect of Richardson and Nolan signing is a feeling a little bit underwhelming. Still, in David Moyes I Continue To Trust.

According to NSNO we are signing both Richardson & Nolan today. I think they are both decent signings; however, I hope we havent spent more than £6m all in.

Though I stand to be corrected this is just another rumour started on nsno.co.uk, the guy who started it claims to know someone who was hanging outside Bellfield and got Richardsons autograph and apparently saw Nolan follow him in

Hmmmm...

Must be true then.

Just read that Kieran Richardson is now top of Moyes's wanted list... Kieran Richadson.... If it's true.. is he havin' a fuckin' laugh !!! If that's the best he can get, looks like it's 2 yrs ago all over again... I despair, I really do!!

I’m a little bit in doubt over Richardson. On one side, I really would like a left-winger with more creativity. On the other hand, he’s not as expensive as the average championship-player linked with us, and he’s got some potential.

Like you say, Nolan has to regain his form of some years back. Nolan from last seasons is not really a necessary addition to our squad. I hope he comes in cheap.

Both would be useful squad players. Hope there’s one or two real quality-singings coming as well!

You are all fools! Haven’t we heard this shite before about signings on Monday!? Richardson is average but he is an extra body with the potential to get better. Nolan would be fantastic but the point is..... we are stint! And the idiots who bleat continually about trust in Moyes are diluted. We will finish bottom half this season, a pathetic result as the board save money rather than caring for the club.

Angry Blue are you sure Everton will finish in the bottom half next season or are you just wishing they will?

I hate defeatist fans. Everton haven’t kicked a ball yet and already some so-called fans are predicting doom and gloom.

Please try and have some optimism, your suppose to support your club not run it down.

The Everton dressing room is famed for its enthusiasm and team spirit. Moyes has built a squad who respect each other and nearly every player speaks of the great atmosphere, even disgruntled players like AVDM have tipped their hats to the confidence and spirit of the club.

I really wish some of the fans would try and contribute to that instead of continually looking for ways to knock the club/team down.

Let’s hope the rumours are true.
Richardson has got some baggage but for £3m ish he could be useful and will add balance and a good left foot to the squad.
Nolan would be an excellent signing and would prove to be the catalyst we need in midfield. Fingers crossed for another good season.

I dont rate Nolan at all. People seem to think because he is a scouser he will be a good signing. Just ask Bolton fans last season he is useless. In my opinion, a shitter version of Joey Barton. Richardson is a player that I would rather see at the club. He has a lot of pace and a brilliant left foot. 11 goals in 81 games is not a bad record especially for a winger. The only problem I have with him is his ability to go past someone. I seen it a lot at west brom and his early man utd days but last season nothing. Maybe this was down to lack of confidence. GET FERNANDES BACK!!!!

£2.5m? Moyes better hope no other manager reads this or he's going to feel a bit of deja-vu a la Koumas/Nugent/Smith etc Another player who'll go for more than Moyes will be prepared to pay for (read instead that Everton have no money). With the Arthur Daley like approach of getting players on the cheap and then paying on the drip, Evertonians will be happy to lower their sights and secure a bargain basement (hopefully) player. It won't be long before United play their reserve matches at Goodison Park!

Someone heard from someone at the club that Defoe was about to sign ...

Someone thought they saw Nolan at Bellefield ...

Are we really so desperate that we believe dodgy rumours of this sort ? There’s no way that multimillion pound players like Defoe and Nolan would be sold by their clubs without first hawking them in the media to encourage other clubs to join in the auction.

"..... we are stint! And the idiots who bleat continually about trust in Moyes are diluted".

LOL, Brian I also was going to ask what that meant. Your diluted if you trust in Moyes? And the club is stint??? What’s stint?

I guess he was so angry that he simply couldn’t check his spelling. I can understand that, finishing 6th and then being linked with a young exciting England International (Richardson) is enough to make anyone go all Hulk.

Hard times we are currently enduring, I long for the old days when we fought relegation and signed players like Gazza, Ginola and Mark Hughes.

No matter what anyone says, EFC are in the best position player wise in twenty years. Yes we do need players and quality players. This does not mean we should get into a bidding war over overpriced and over rated players. David Moyes has made progress most seasons to the point that people are unhappy of a sixth plce finish. Turn your minds back ten years and 17th was a good result. We will never make it to constant top four within the next three years as we have a club owner who, while a pain in the arse is ensuring our club remains within the reach of people who care about the long term future and not the instant success that certain clubs have or are chasing. ( Leeds Chelsea Newcastle every yr with twenty signings, The Shite now a yankee owns them and of course West egg Ham)

Im not overly excited about Richardson but we need to ask, is he better than what we currently have for left midfield? And the answer is a resounding YES. (shows how bad our left side is)Didnt people have a go about Kilbane and he turned out ok. Alright I know that we should be setting our sights higher but rather 2.5m for him than 6m for someone yet to prove his worth. I’ll believe Nolan when I see him along with Smith, Defoe etc etc. I hope Moyes has some aces up his sleave I really do

I wish people would stop knocking Kieran Richardson, I really am looking forward to the signing of a young, english, pacey, skillful LW.

He was great at W.B.A, and u cannot blame him for going off the boil a bit, with Man U either playing him LB or not at all.

Give him a chance!

Would you rather see Meyde or Osman on the Left Flank?

Nolan for £3m? A proven premiership goalscoring midfielder when Kounmas has just gone for £5.3m!!! Are you taking the piss or are you just that gullible?
If so then send me a cheque for £500 and ill show you how to become a millionaire.

Just read about us being linked to Riquelme again!

The Copa America is reaching the end and it has been a great tournement with some fantastic games. A lot of the players in the tournement have either signed on for new clubs or are targets for a move.

Everton was yesterday linked with Argentinian midfielder Juan Roma Riquelme. The 29 year old midfielder spent last part of the season on loan at River Plate. There are also other clubs mentioned as possible new destinations for Riquelme, but yesterday Everton was the club rumoured to be first in line for his signature.

This is getting as bad as when Houllier tried to sign that French bloke who played for Harchester Utd

It doesnt matter about rumours at the moment the main worry I have is the slow and painfull pre season we are having to suffer.

Yet again a Moyes led Everton are doing fuck all in the transfer market regardles of being skint or not.If we are skint then at least get some cheap squad players in to make up the numbers.

I predicted months ago this would happen and it has.If Kenwright is holding back funds then why doesnt Dopey Dave come out and let the fans know? Its all to cosy for my liking and it stinks.

Why on earth Atress thinks the sun shines out of Moyes,s arse I will never know.Oh I forgot he is a better manager than Walter Smith.

I can’t remember the last time I spent a few million quid - my mind must be slipping. Houlliers and Raffles promise the world when spending someone else’s money, and usually get the sack (filled with someone else’s gold unfortunately).

But I do trust Moyes to spend our limited funds as wisely as anyone might. If Richardson and Nolan did come in, within budget and within the wage structure, what would we have done? Added, strengthened, given depth - all crying needs. We did get to 6th playing as we do, and suffered predictable injuries and suspensions.

Give me two or three Lee Carsleys - at bargain basement prices - to sure up our talented squad and I would look forward to the marathon (hopefully) with a bit more peace of mind.

If you want your club to spend multimillions buying players you’ve never heard of from places you’ve never heard of, who walk off with the cash before you ever knew what their name was, go and find one . You’re in the wrong place.

It is a real disappointment to see us missing out on signing Nugent, Koumas and Fernadas.

I think main pirority that EFC need is a prolific striker to partner AJ and a creative playmaker at center of midfield.

Sadly, neither Richardson nor Nolan fit the above.

I think Nolan is too similar in style to Cahill.

Why didn’t EFC consider getting Gravesen back? He was superb in his last 2 seasons at EFC.

I have not met anyone who rates Richardson, even my mate in work who is a man u fan says he is shite.

Top of our wanted list, Moyes must be having a laugh.

Sky sports say three premiership clubs have made contact, 2million the quoted price, would seem a quality buy at that, a proven international winger, pure speculation on my part but it would figure as winger appear to be our most needed position. Would like to think we would be preferable to Boro also.

Watching Moyes on evertonTV, the implication is that there will not be any new players coming in soon, "It is more difficult than we had hoped" to bring new people in. This does not sound good, and makes the Nolan / Richardson rumour seem unlikely.

My other half and her dad are both Man U fans and they both said the problem with richardson is that he can’t beat a man,and is a lazy bastard when things don’t go his way,and is so frustrating to watch. That’s all we need another Kilbane at the club. Also, those people who say he is a young talented player with quality, then, why is he only being priced at £2-3m.

Could somebody please confirm that Keiran Richardson WAS seen at Bellefield and did indeed undergo a medical, or was this simply another figment of someone's over-active imagination? Also, if he did have a medical, this would surely mean that the deal was just about done. What was it that made him (or us, for that matter) change his mind?
