More Riquelme stuff

Back to the Riquelme rumours, sorry folks but according to
this link (in Spanish), Atletico Madrid are favourites to sign him for ?10 million, but that might change if Real Madrid can?t tempt Fabregas from Arsenal. No mention of any interest from us or any other British clubs.

Spoilsport - I am not going to watch the Copa America final now. I was looking forward to a fantasy fest as well. Still we have the possibility of Keiran Richardson to look forward to.

He will never come to Goodison that I can assure you-would you if you were him ? Clubs with more ambition paying better money with better squads will come in for him. I don t understand why we can t compete with other premiership clubs finanically-I mean where is all this tv money gone that everybody else is p ssing up the wall. If a lot of it is being saved towards a new stadium then we should be told this not kept in the dark. I really don t understand why we are always skint

I guess it was always pie in the sky we’d get Riquelme. Plus Atletico have that munny from Torres burning a hole in their pockets.
Richardson is gone to Sunderland so forget about him. I disagreed with Moyes’ thrift policy re: Nugent but with Richardson for ?5.5??? They can have him. Even at 2.5 million it was a ho-hum buy but for 3 million more its a joke. Moyes should really be lookin abroad more; English players always have been overinflated in value and are even moreso this year.
Still, 7 weeks or so left so chin up...

I think we still have a shot with that ?I have got the ability to make one good signing..." bit. I think Everton has one 10mil+ deal in them.

Considering next season we’re going to be (rightfully) competing with the likes of Munich, Fiorentina and our old buddies from Estadio La Madrigal, I find it deeply concerning and insulting that we’re after players like Quadrue and Richardson. I hope to God these rumours are nonsense otherwise it may speak volumes about the immediate future of our great club. The little cup team that is Spurs are spending well as are our neighbors while our boys continue to interrail on the continent. Having said all that, I have total faith in David Moyes and even if he does stoop to buy the likes Richardson, I will maintain my faith in this, our finest manager in nearly two decades.

It’s still a possibility and I hope he does sign for us, but I think teaming up with Forlan again at Atletico might influence him.Pity if it does though, his passing is probably just what AJ needs.

Sorry guys but if Riquelme signs for us I will walk round the pitch of Goodison starkers!
It was never gonna happen, and is just showing how the heat is getting to us in this long close season...
