Stevie G ? Protected species?

Comments (32)

Has anyone else seen today's Sunday Mirror?

It is absurd that the police have been give orders to crack down on any Everton supporter targeting Steven Gerrard for abuse! What about the abuse Phil Neville will get for being from Manchester? What about the abuse Joleon will get for his boyish good looks? What about the abuse Tim Howard will get for his Tourettes?

It's this type of favouritism that helps the Sky 4! Come on blues. Let's fight with dignity and not our mouths!

Totally agree with you Chris, the favoritism is shocking!

I can guarantee the police etc wont budge when the Everton players receive abuse from the Liverpool fans!

Neville was spat at and punched in the last trip to analfield. Yet all the press went to a few chants from the blue end suggesting Gerrard’s offspring may not be his own. Its important to note that we were just voicing that suggestion not starting it, as it had already been spread across the tabloids. The chants to Neville re his daughter from the gobshytes however displays their mentality perfectly. There should be no surprise that the police force places its support firmly on the dark side.

This article infuriated me,as it embarrasses us on a national scale. It paints a picture of Everton fans as thugs, versus the golden boy who is, let’s not forget, currently facing an assault charge.

I say we just jeer him at every opportunity, and leave it at that, rather than allow the police the satisfaction of arresting anyone for words deemed inappropriate. That way,our hostility gets noted, yet we haven’t made a transgression against admittedly selective policing.

Finally,in terms of reputation and perception, and in front of a national audience,we haven’t shown an evil twin side, which the mirror’s article seems to suggest we possess....

Fucking Bring It On !!!!!

Unfortunately not going to be there, but I absolutely beg all blues to give him (them) as much shit as is humanly possible. Whether that means giving the PC Police something to do or not. Remember, we do live in a democracy and have our right to free speech. What are they going to do? Arrest the whole away end.

This is the same paper that labelled Tim Cahill a thug, so it's no surprise to me. In defence of the Liverpool Echo (who are also owned by Trinity Mirror Group), they did say it was a stupid idea from the Merseyside Police, given that it is virtually impossible to discriminate against any particular group, football fans, and it would seem Evertonians are seen as fair game.

Also, having suffered the European ban due to the bad behaviour of other clubs, it seems strange that we have become the villains of the peace.

Also, why are LFC making a big deal of the Hillsborough Disaster when the 20th anniversary of that sad event is not until 15th April 2009? It being only January, what is the justification?

I always want Everton to beat Liverpool but this time we need to do it twice in a dignified and respectable manner, without bad tackles, without chanting, without the pitch invasion of celebration. To say the players and supporters are being hamstrung before they even get into the ground is an understatement.

In this day and age perception is far more important than reality. Our friends and their media allies are indeed the masters of spin.

I remember a certain Carling Cup semi-final against Chelsea where Neville was subject to a chant that was scandalous. Nothing done about it ? not even a mention. Ridiculous... oh well, let's fuck the red shite over. Nothing would make me happier than to beat them in the league and dismantle their "title challenge". haha COYB!!

All for One and One for All...... I can see the police making this a very messy Derby and it will be all there own fault.

I'm singing anti-Gerrard songs cos he deserves it, the feckin' criminal!!!!

If we all sing, then what can the police do apart from be prejudiced and discriminating against certain fans which in its own right is not allowed.

Anyway, let's all sing and support the blue boys and also sing and knock Stevie G off his high chair!

This country is fucked, the lard heads that think this is not right or that is not appropriate are taking their level of righteousness to new depths. KEEP THESE PRICKS OUT OF FOOTBALL.

I can understand there being a line that shouldn't be crossed, we have laws to abide by... but what is wrong with expressing opinion in a country that is meant to promote freedom of speech? Maybe we need to suggest that the referee tugs his privates when upset by his pathetic decisions to keep legalities onside?

What a load of bollocks, where will this end? ? silent and then empty grounds because the atmosphere will be killed... no way! A bit of spice is required in life as in passion at a football match. We are Everton and we are passionate. Remember, Redshite will never be listened too because we don't care what they say but they obviously don't like what we say ? we are one up already.

I like Irony and Sarcasm... did you hear the Utd fans singing "He's cracking up, he?s cracking up, Rafa?s cracking up" followed by "He's just a Fat Spanish Waiter"? Maybe slightly slanderous but good ribbing made me smile! I think - "You will win fuck all again" might hit the shite's nerve and "We're gonna win the cup!"

There are tonnes of chants that we need to let the Lads know that we are loud and proud EVERTONIANS and right behing them. Just give it large from start to finish - Bring it On!!! COYB

A fan gets arrested for singing Stevie GBH and gets fined and banned from football for the season. Gerrard fucks up a DJ and he’ll get a suspended community service order I’m sure... Hmm go figure.

An attempt at satirical, non abusive, factual, socially accurate lyrics as I can?t concentrate on much else today.

"Yer going inter Liquid... liquid... liquidation like the rest of the Nation"

"If ye wanna be the best, get the cheque book out like the rest .....liquidation is what I mean"

"And when the Yanks go down the toilet and their shares are worth sod all.... let the liquid, liquid, liquidation make your Club worth nothing at all"

There?s got to be someone in a band who could make this sound good whilst not offending anyone.

What has singing about Gerrard and his paternity got to do with supporting Everton?? Anyone who does so is a disgrace to our club, the city and to football. So too are their brainless idiots with their chants about Lescott & Phil Neville.

The police can?t control it and the stewards don?t want to but the only people who can control it are the fans themselves who can return to humour and singing for our team. Grow up lads and sing for Everton and don?t show yourselves up.

Re;Gavin Ramejkis’ comments - first this sort of poison should be deleted by the moderstors anyway. I’ve agreed with Gavin in the past about Kenwrights chairmanship but referring to the police as ’filth’ and describing Gerrard in the way he does is despicable and crosses the line. Ramekis does a huge disservice to DECENT Evertonians with such remarks, and confirms himself as a horrible, poisonous little man. If I ever see any other comment from him I will just skip to the nexy one.
