Play Up Pompey!

Comments (12)

Please join me in prayer this evening that magnificent Pompey, most soulful and deserving of our love, beat the jammiest bastards on the block, Aston of Villa.

Long overdue (8 weeks & counting). If this shower get ANOTHER spawny own goal, or ANOTHER penalty then it's all over for 4th.

Alltogether now, Play Up Pompey, Pompey Play Up!

Im not sure they will need luck tonight. Pompey look complete shite at the moment and have sold 2 of their best players. Im not sure if Villa have Ashley Young suspended though which might help.

No, Liverpool are the jammist team on the block. Even their kit is covered in the stuff!

You can’t expect us to punch above our weight every round. We are taking a rest and letting the cut man do his job.

Play Up Pompey.

Villa?s luck will run out soon. It's about time too ? their fans are already acting like they have a god-given right to CL football.

Spare a thought for me: I live and work in Birmingham and have to put up with the smug gits day after day. We will have our day and when we dump them out of the FA Cup they?ll all be calling for O?Neill's head!!

We need Villa to start dropping points and quickly (and us to beat Arsenal tomorrow night).

Unfortunately it ain’t going to happen tonight as Villa leading and Portsmouth are generally shite with a shite manager and will be lucky not to get relegated.

Spawny ot spawniness... a Heskey debut goal! .... we just have to catch Arsenal??? Saying that, if Man Utd win the League Cuo does that mean 6th gets Euro place??? (Assuming Man Utd don?t drop out of top 4, which is highly unlikely!)

It?s now 23:35 and the teletext pages of both BBC and ITV are ignoring United?s victory at West Brom and highlighting Villa?s triumph at Portsmouth.
ITV: NEW BOY HESKEY HANDS VILLA AWAY WIN!
BBC: HESKEY FIRES VILLA TO THIRD PLACE.
In fact the BBC Ceefax has not yet confirmed United?s as a final score.
Can you imagine our neighbours winning 5-0 away from home and going 3 clear at the top, that Villa going into third place would be the headline news! I know United kicked off late but surely both channels would have updated by now!

Oh for fuck sake. This is now getting fucking ridiculous.

These fuckers have been played off the pitch in EVERY ONE of their last 6 away games and WON THEM ALL. The only surprising thing is that they didn’t get a penalty or an own goal.

Martin O’Neill has a fucking angel watching over him. You couldn’t invent this shit.

So Villa stride on to another lucky 3 points at Pompey. Why was the Portsmouth player sent off when the linesman clearly signalled a handball by the Villa player? Talk about a level playing field.
