A couple things:

Baines is clearly missing Pienaar on the left

I like Gosling; he’s messed up a couple times and been caught out of position but he always tracks back and never backs off

Jo!!! So frustrating he’s clearly not at his sharpest but I see potential. He’s linking up well with the midfield.

Great first half, only complaint that we’re not out of sight.

One to ponder maybe - Jo seems to have slotted in a whole lot easier than Screech when he first arrived, probably backs up the point people made in his defence at the time that it’s a whole lot easier to come into a team that’s playing well.

Excellent first half performance, sorry but no doubt about the penalty, a bit theatric maybe, but a penalty it was.

Jo played very well, bit rusty maybe but looking to be enjoying himself, when he gets his first for Everton, on this first half performance there will be more to come.

Jags been excellent, Gosling apart from one almost big error passing back is playing well again.

8 shots on target, 6 off target, it just a wonder that it only 1-0.

Arteta’s penalty separates us from the Trotters. If the second half follows the first though in terms of possession and chances for the Royal Blues, there will be more to come.

Great first half, COYB!

Osmans first touch, by his standards, has not been good and there have been 1 or 2 stray passes but lets not forget his pass to set Bains away in the first 2 minutes and the space he keeps working for himself, he is unlucky not to be on the score sheet and is working very hard. This is a great performance. Jo hardly played for 4 months but it does not look like it. The highlight for me is the first time passing, not seen it this much for a long time at goodison. coyb

Jo looks good, if he could have a bit more conviction and confidence in his shooting he could be another bargain acquisition from the Moyes.

Simon Dunne, lay off Osman mate. I think he’s played well. In fact, all 11 of our players are playing well. If I had to single out one player to take off it’d be Gosling. Sometimes he’s taking too long on the ball.

No matter though. My concern was whether we’d have anything left in the tank after Wednesday. On the showing so far I’d say we have buckets left. This has been such an impressive performance so far that if we keep it up, I can see it being 3 or 4-0, Bolton just cannot get in the game.

And I hope finally people are waking up to why Neville’s been put in midfield. With Mikky around him to dictate from the centre he can assume a Carsley-esque role breaking up and distributing to Mikky, Leon or Bainesy.

Robert Jones you truely are an idiot. We are winning 2-0 so Moyes is giving some of our key players a break. Why are you moaning at what moyes is doing? Cahill, Arteta and Baines have run thier bollocks off over the last couple of weeks so surley it is better to give them a rest. Whether Osman is playing bad or not makes no difference today! Just enjoy the fact we are wiining and stop looking for pointless things to moan about!!

I had a really good feeling about Jo, but I didn’t think he’d make his debut that quickly and that well!

Well that was a superb performance, especially in the first half. Really enjoyed that today boys i think we are looking quality at the moment. The back 4 is the most solid i can remember. Arteta was superb in the centre and Jo played excellant for someone who has hardly played, shame his cup-tied!!

Roll on next weekend i can not wait!!

Osman has done well today, I am made up for him considering the criticism he has received.

I agree, he hasnt been on form for a while. But today, he proved he is a valuable member of the team. He can play good football with the ball at his feet.

Excellent performance, the best of the season for me. We completely destroyed Bolton today, 14 shots on target!!!

The confidence is flowing, and the defence is completely solid. But with Villa still winning, I dont think we can catch them now. I think there is no dispute now, Everton Football Club are a very good side, with plenty of youth in order to maintain this for years to come. Truly great times to be a blue, I am so proud! David Moyes, I salute you for bringing us days like this.

Get in there you blue beauties!!!

Robert Jones, I don’tthink you’ve ever played the game to a decent level have you? Got to keep some players happy and 10 mins isn’t ’breaking up the partnership

It’s very premature but I’d say buy Jo depending on how much he’d cost. The bloke looked brilliant and you can tell that there’s more to come. He’s like a younger Saha that’s hungry. This could be a real bargain depending on the price.

BRILLIANT performance. Good work lads!!

Top 6, 3 goals, clean sheet, tonnes of chances and a class goal that reminds me of Bergkamp (V Newcastle)

The best game of the day so far, so where will MOTD have us billed..?

Well the high of beating Liverpool midweek surely kicked in today, great performance from the lads, especially 1st half! great debut from Jo today, those 2 goals will do him the world of good, maybe could of had his hat trick if Arteta would of give him the 1st pen but 2 goals from him, carnt complain, shame villa keep fucking winning, not next week though, we’ll just have to challenge Arsenal and Chelsea for fourth!! COYB!!

We were different class without the Useless Hairmop. Hope to Christ Moyes sees the error of his ways and keeps the fouler out. Our midfield was awesome today and Osman worked his bollocks off!

It shows you just how fickle some of our fans are, last week before Jo has kicked even a ball for us he was branded waster - this time its Fellaini’s turn...

It was only 3 weeks ago that Moyes was called all the names under the sun because Fellaini got a booking against Hull. Apparently we couldn?t get a result without him... now, he?s a "Useless Hairmop"!!! I just can?t believe it, we have to have someone to slag off, Fellaini didn?t even play and he?s got it in the neck from one of the muppets... cue Stephen Stuart claiming we?ve never been this bad,..we should be ashamed...kill Kenwright...hang draw and quarter Moyes...etc etc

It was a fantastic performance... I?m over the moon and I have no players to critisise.... would you believe it.

You know who I really hate?? Carlo Nash.

I mean, what the fuck has he done since he got here? Sit on the bench. And have you seen the way he sits? It’s pathetic! What a waste of space. Get rid. Nash / Moyes out.

Portsmouth v Liverpool
West Brom v Newcastle
Blackburn v Aston Villa
Everton v Bolton
Chelsea v Hull
Sunderland v Stoke
Man City v Middlesbrough
Wigan v Fulham

MotD running order if anyone interested.

Apparently the Portsmouth v RS game is going to have an unbelievable second half and the pundits want to play guess the formation.

To all those slagging off Moyes. Can I point out how much of a great decision he made to take off two of our most experienced seniors players, Neville and Fellaini, for Jack Rodwell, a 17-year-old and Danny Gosling for a 19-year-old. Even Sir Alex who, let's be honest, is a great manager, has complimented him on decisions.

I?ll hold my hand up and apologize for saying I didn?t think Jo would set Goodison alight but today I was happily proven wrong, great touches both first and second. His first half nerves and missed chances were soon put behind him with some great moves, including the pens and his excellent goal in open play where he turned his defender good and proper and finished really well. If City have any more like him, let?s go for them too, he looked really up for it and also keen to play with and for his team mates. Early days I know but looks like a good one so far

Upson in the England team AHEAD of Lescott? WHAT?! G Johnson ahead of Bains?! Fuck off Capello... and no Arteta for Spain? Is this a fucking joke? And let?s all be honest, Osman [even though he isn?t the best] is playing miles better than Downing and based on form should be picked ahead of him ? But I guess I don?t get paid £10million per hour and get knocked out of qualifying rounds to make those type of decisions!

With the way he?s been playing over the last few weeks Frank I?d put Hibbert ahead of Luke Young and Glen Johnson as well. Still can?t believe that Lescott, Baines and Arteta haven?t been called up to their respective squads either. Can?t say I agree as far as Osman's form being better than Downing's form is concerned, as much as I like the lad he has been pretty poor recently.

Do we have an option to buy Jo like we did with all the loan signings that we have signed over the last few years? Because I would snap him up right now because he has played better in one match for us than in 6 months for City.

Doug and Ste: Moyes said in interview on EvertonTV (just after we signed Jo ?on loan?) when questioned if we had option to sign him permanently:

"I believe there is something there, buit I?m not too concerned about that now".

Well, I imagine he is now checking the small print already!

(Jo also said that ?If Everton want me I?d be delighted to stay beyond the end of next season?)

Obviously if Jo continues to perform for us there should be no doubt that we will allow him to join the wonderful Everton family on a more permanent basis... swap for Big Vic no problem!

Frank, Johnson ahead of Baines? Johnson plays right back, Baines is a left back.

On another note: no manager would pick 1 club's entire back 4, that would just be plain daft, so it was inevitable that people from our squad would miss out. I doubt that Hibbert will ever be picked for England (Carragher anyone!?) and Baines is unlikely too with Ashley Cole & Wayne Bridge ahead of him in the pecking order.

You can?t ignore Jags so he?s defo in, Lescott has been good in the last few games but not in every game ? he?s been prone to the odd error which has been covered up by Jags in a number of cases. Capello can only pick so many centre halves.

Arteta will probably never get into the Spain squad, and that has nothing to do with being an Everton player and everything to do with Spain having one of the best midfields in the World, and some of the best players in the central roles certainly. Arteta is good, but is he better than Xavi, Iniesta or dare I say it, Xavi Alonso? Probably not, at least in the eyes of the Spanish coaches.
