Blues down under

Comments (9)

It was reported in the local media (West Australian) that Everton will be coming to Perth for a pre-season tour and will play the local A-league team Perth Glory. The paper said it all depends on them getting another game in Oz which you would've thought wouldn't be a problem, so if this comes off I will be the over the moon.

I remember when Timmy was here for a friendly with indonesia and the reception he got from Everton fans who had turned out in force to see him and show their support which proved to him and me (although I never thought anything else) that Everton fans are like no other. The best in the world.

To all blues fans everywhere be safe, be lucky, and keep preaching the good news about the best club in the world. COME ON YOU BLUES!!!!

If this is true and the squad comes out I?ll be shocked. If Everton are playing anywhere in Australia I?ll be there but I would hope they would play on the East coast to. Match against Queensland or Sydney FC would suit.

Could bring them across the ditch and play the Wellington Pheonix in New Zealand? Might even get 5,000 in to watch lol.

Luke, reckon there?s any chance of them playing Napier City Rovers too?! I think the last time the lads were in New Zealand was a pre-season tour in 1985, just after winning the League and Cup Winners Cup.

I hope it comes off for all you fans over there that haven?t seen them play live on the grass yet still support the lads, week-in, week-out.

I?d have thought a pre-season trip down under would be great for the lads, team bonding etc. and great for the blue expats and aussie fans with taste to see the Pride of Merseyside up close and personal.

I think Howie took the side down there in the mid 1980s... didn?t do them too much harm! COYB !

Hey Dick, by all means have your 1st dibs. You may notice I said East Coast to, suggesting that Everton could have more than one match. Plus it couldn’t hurt the boys pre season to play against some of the better clubs in the A league.

Well if they are to play some of the best clubs you cannot miss Adelaide. AFC final this season. Second on ladder this season. Otherwise play Sydney FC the divas of the league who now that the chairman of the league has had to sell them will find it even harder!!
