Whilst I?m enjoying the over-exuberant ethusiasm from some people who want to draw top 4 opposition - surely we all really want to draw ball 1 or ball 6, don?t we?

Drawing ball 1 or 6 at home will do just fine indeed. If we get drawn against anybody in the Top 4, the person responsible shall get their hand cut off!

Ok, seriously, great all-round effort. Villa, similar to us, are a very, very tough team with a lot of discipline. Everton made this epic 3-1 win look easy. A Grand Old Team...

After Liverpool and Villa, we deserved a home tie avoiding the other big clubs. But it’s a shame Manyoo, Arse and Chelski avoided each other!

For a second there I thought we had been drawn away to Arsenal, because it looked like our ball had been drawn. Fucking hell, there are no easy draws I reckon, but this is I think the best draw we could have gotten!

Great draw. If Moyes had a chance of winning a cup, this could be the season. Good luck, lads.

Only slight annoyance is that the Sky Three didn’t get drawn together in any way. Although Arsenal have two ties to fit in, against sides that can cause upsets.

But West Ham or Boro at home will do me just fine.

Good work with tidying up my post Toffee web, and thanks.

Second week of March for this tie, right?

Does this give Saha long enough to get fit?

You want to draw Arsenal? Crazy... but here’s to Wembley.
Is it right that we’ve won silverware in every decade bar this one?
Well, last chance in the cup!

Oh, and how do teams get alloted numbers for the draws?
And why do people feel the need to share this info. ITV used to have the numbers up on screen, even though they’d say which teams they are 3 seconds after coming out the hat...

Yes, it was Arsenal that I wanted, Nick, but now it is Chelsea. We play them in the league around the same time so could be another double-header and I would fancy us getting something out of it.

Fulham in the final anyone, for an end of season double header?

I’ve thought for the last few seasons we’ve had back luck in cup draws ie Leige this season etc etc Liverpool away , Villa [ when there on their best away run EVER ] so the Hammers or Middleshite at HOME is fucking great , maybe just maybe our luck is changing, great draw still will not be easy but at least it’snot Manure away.

Great result today, they all done well. Did anyone see the little lad on the crutches on the pitch just before kick off? Propa gave me a tear in my eye, don't know who he is, but there is more to life than the game we love, and that young boy is a credit to his family.

I?ve always had a sneaking suspicion that the draw is rigged, or someone knows ahead of time who is going to be drawn, or who they want to see play.

Maybe i?m just a bit paranoid, but in any event, more than satisfied with a home tie against Middlesbrough. (or West Ham). Avoided a trip to Old Trafford or Stamford Bridge, and for that I am thankful.

I still remember like yesterday the semi-final replay in 1980 at Elland Road, so if we face West Ham in the 6th round, I want revenge for that and will expect to beat them (no Bellamy, no Ashton), at the Old Lady and hey-presto, our first semi-final appearance in fourteen long years.

We can actually win it this year, that?s what?s so exciting. But one round at a time.

Agreed Roger! I want revenge for 1991 when they dumped us straight out after our epic win over the rs. I was only 11, gutted.

Karl Gilboy: Yes, we noticed the young lad that you mentioned. Probably the proudest day of his & his parents? life. Very humbling. Thank you EFC for letting him have his 5 minutes on the pitch.

Also Tim?s celebration, pointing to the black armband for his fellow Aussies tragically killed in the bush fires. Yes, there is more to life than football.

If you had said to me when the draw was made in December, and we faced a trip to Macclesfield that we would go on to draw at Anfield and then beat Liverpool in the replay and Aston Villa next up I would have demanded a psychological evaluation.

Add to that, a draw from the jaws of victory over Arsenal, another draw at Anfield, a narrow defeat by a set piece at Old Trafford, and a marked improvement from earlier in the season. It’s hard not to get a wee bit animated with what’s left of the season. I , no , we-have waited 14 years for another F.A cup final, and that long stretch is painstakingly within reach. We can do it this year, with all due respect to Boro and West Ham.

Everton are back!

I don’t usually like to buy into this notion that draws for the cup are often fixed in some way (people usually say this after their team get a tough one). But - I have allowed myself to consider the possibility this time around.

Is it possible that the FA were so desperate to avoid such a non-event of a cup final as was Pompey Cardiff last season, that they decided to keep the four teams left in the competition from the top 6 of the Premiership apart? Just perhaps eh?!

Not that I mind getting Boro or West Ham at home. I’m not calling for a re-draw or anything! Wembley really seems within touching distance now! It’s been too long, and I for one can’t wait!

Excellent draw! I don’t think any of the teams would want to play us at Goodison.

It is me, or am I seeing adverts for WEST HAM memorabilia to the right of this thread as we post????
