Newcastle line up

Comments (10)

Just pondering the selection headache that Moyes has ahead of him for the game against Newcastle. With Hibbert suspended will he move Neville to right back? Hopefully not because Capn Pip has been doing a great job in midfield. Will he hand Lars Jacobsen his league debut? A risk considering he has no match fitness. Or perhaps Dan Gosling will be given a start in his preferred position???

I would like to see Neville at right back, if only because I would prefer our central midfield without him when the squad is fully fit. My central 3 would be Areta, Cahill Fellaini. With Fellaini and Cahill unavailable this weekend they would need to be replaced by Rodwell and Osman (assuming Osman is fit again). Assuming Pienaar is still injured this will mean leaving Anichebe on the right and Gosling on the left of midfield in a reprise of Sunday?s roles.

Jo will replace Cahill as lone striker. However, I am pretty sure that Moyes will want to keep Neville in the middle. This means Jacobsen or Yobo at right back and Osman replacing Gosling at left midfield ? possibly Gosling replacing Anichebe at right midfield. It would be great to see Saha on the bench. Finally some more attacking options if things go pear-shaped.

Anyone who?s taken an interest in Moyes's selections down the years, knows Yobo will get the nod.

Personally I would give Jacobsen the nod for the suspended Hibbert and leave Neville in midfiled due to the current injuries and suspensions?

Anyone got any links for the match?

I think that he means everyone makes "mistakes" which in itself is ironic as the word "mistake" has mistakenly not been include, now is this a mistake or a mistaken mistake at irony about the erm.....mistake.

Comedy genius or a mistaken belief that to mistake putting in mistake when the mistake was a mistake.

Of course I could be mistaken? eh?

It was intended to be ironic but obviously things can be lost in translation....apologies to all concerned.

Looks like we?ll be without Fellaini, Pienaar and Osman, along with the suspended Hibbo and Tiny.

Normally this kind of thing could be damaging, but I think confidence is so high throughout the squad that it simply means other players will be chomping at the bit to get involved, and hope to hold down a regular starting place. For my 2 cents:

Howard
Jacobsen
Jags
Lescott
Baines
Gosling
Arteta
Neville
Rodwell
Anichebe
Jo

Bench from:
Nash
Yobo
Baxter
Saha
Shandy VdM
Moyes
Royle........

I think you're spot on Conor... the team pretty much picks itself. I hope we don?t try to fit Yobo back into the team as he?ll have to play out of position. He hasn?t played right-back for a long time, so guess Jacobsen will get his debut.

Anichebe will likely play a mixture of positions. I guess he?ll have to start on the left or right (Gosling on the other flank), but if Jo gets isolated, he?s the only one to support up front.

Rodwell, Arteta and Neville will all be central and fairly deep. I hope the confidence will be enough to keep the run going, but it doesn?t look great on paper / LCD!
