Can David Moyes be great?

I read a report in the paper today suggesting that David Moyes could manage Manchester United. It stated that he had never proved himself with money to spend.
I think it is a fair comment. At the moment, I wouldn't swop him for any manager in the league. He is magnificent at patching up; when backs are against the wall, he is the man for the job.
But what if we had money? Can he produce flair football? Right now he has a ready made excuse. No money and appalling injuries. If we were to get huge investment who thinks that Moyes is the man for the job? I don't know.

We've discussed this plenty of times before, but as it's been such a good weekend for us, and I'm back from a fantastic week in Cabo San Lucas (Mexico, Dave Roberts, the southern-most top of that long peninsula called Baja California that sticks into the Pacific Ocean), let's see what we get this time around...
Honest answer... YES!
In 83 you could have asked the same about Kendall!
since last year I have believed that Mourinho would be the one to follow Ferguson.
Anyone following the great mans footprints will have to have instant respect and experience at the highest level.
Moyes is going nowhere!
Michael is that the place with stunning golf courses, or am i thinking of somewhere else? On the subject of Moyes, I think he should be banned from spending any more than £5m on a single player, his record below that figure is fantastic, above it is dubious to say the least.
Moyes is the right man for us at this moment in time. If we won the FA Cup followed by Uefa Cup next season and another top 4 finish then Manure might be interested but then we might be more attractive so he stays? All conjecture... he?s well thought of, but as yet, he?s not a winner.
Moyes would need rocks in his head to follow SAF, I have said this before, who would want the rest of his career judged against SAF. Just like all Man United managers between Busby and SAF were including Ferguson for a while.
The only person with an ego big enough to say I can do better is Jose Mourihno and maybe he can.
I would SAF will want to a least match Liverpool’s European cup tally before going.
Hey Michael, glad you enjoyed the Baja. I try myself to go down there every couple of years to visit my grandparents. It’s a beautiful place, especially when compared to the winter in Canada.
Hej Michael. Did you get to the "blow hole" at Ensanarda? How was it?
Brian, Ensenada is about 1,000 miles north of where we were, at the other end of Baja. So no blow hole, at least not that sort. There were some whales though...
Moyes can't produce flair football because he?s not on the pitch. As a manager he can buy the players we need to play the expansive attacking football we have played for periods of this and last season.
Look at the players we are consistently linked to and try to sign. We no longer go in for the industrious limited players (Neville), we are looking at genuine top drawer players (Moutinho). This alone tells me the style of play Moyes is working towards. There are only so many lower league bargains you can pull off.
