Killer Stat

Comments (12)

Now this is what I call a killer stat from today's Times.........

"Moyes would have hoped to avoid Sir Alex Ferguson?s team, who are on course for an unprecedented quadruple, but he may be comforted by the knowledge that on the five previous occasions Everton have won the FA Cup - in 1906, 1933, 1966, 1984 and 1995 - the West Indies cricket team have toured England. West Indies are due to play two Test matches in May".

What!!!!!!!!!!!

Some killer stat.

The Windies toured England in 2007. Why didn?t we win it then?

I'm sure they have probably toured England every 4 years on average, so I don't think the strike rate is particularly good for success...

Let us not forget also that if we don?t win the cup this year the decade 2000-09 would become only the third full decade in which Everton have competed in that they haven?t won a major trophy. The 40?s were ruined by the war and our title winning side of ?38 - ?39 would surely have gone on to win more honours but for it. The ?50?s...well lets not mention the ?50?s! Added incentive for Moyes and the Boys to make 2009 a glory year!

Look, you make your own luck, but if you look a killer stat in the mouth, the only luck you will have is bad luck. So don’t look back, look you.

I think Mystic Meg said that.

My killer stat: A different Everton player has scored each of the blue?s goals in the cup this season

My killer stat is that Man Utd did us a favour by winning the League Cup, but can now go fuck themselves.

I reckon this isn?t a stat, but fuck Manure anyway. COYB!

As someone said the WI have toured England when we’ve not won the FA Cup so maybe it’s not the tour by the WI that’s related to OUR winning the FA Cup, maybe it’s all about our winning the Cup and how WI / England fared in their test series?
Post back with the results so we can see.

Hmmmmmm.........I saw that stat too. But perhaps a more relevant (and less encouraging) one is that Alex Ferguson has never lost a domestic cup semi final.

History is made to be broken though lads.......

Everton have never lost a cup final or semi-final where they?ve scored more than the opposition.

Phil
How about 1977 when we scored one more than the other lot but, for reasons none of us need reminding of, we didn?t get to the final.

We also beat the Mancs when we won in '66, they also went on to win the league that year and the European Cup in '67.

I still remember the ball stuck in the stantion in the back of the net and Crerand's ugly mug. We were the underdogs then... as we are now.
