Rodwell - maturity or hastiness?

Comments (5)

Local newspapers in Malaysia published an article about young Jack Rodwell breaking up with his girlfriend because she was pictured in ?racy? clothes as part of her modelling work. The article seemed to present Rodwell as being determined to do well in his football career; hence his decision to end the relationship with his girlfriend because he didn't want any distractions.

If the article was true, Rodwell's determination to focus on his football is commendable... yet, I don't know if he might have been ill-advised on breaking up with the girl. Newspaper link

Prefer Everton to break up with him for the time being, he is simply not good enough to play in midfield, worst player on the pitch against Blackburn and worst player in the first half against Middlesboro.

concentrate long term for the centre of defence to which he is fully capable.

Paul

Either you?re a wind-up, or you have issues mate. Rodwell is 18 for crying out loud. You cannot simply expect a person that young to be the finished article.

Rooney is the exception, but even then it was abnormal that a kid who?d barely left school was such a Premier League force. With time I expect Rodwell to be an assured Premier League midfielder. But he needs time, and people like you are already getting on his back. Give it a rest.

Paul, don?t agree with you at all.

In most of the games I?ve seen Rodwell play in, he?s been assured and comfortable on the ball. He?s not been a match-winner, but he?s been good and for someone who just turned 18 and is in his first real Premier League season, that?s a pretty positive start.

Give him match time and he can be our new defensive midfielder for sure.
