Paddy Power has the power

Comments (21)

There's an article on the Official Website stating we have an opportunity to win two Wembley tickets, all we have to do is open an account with Paddy Power!

I'm one of the lucky ones who has a ticket but think it a disgrace that Everton are giving tickets to Paddy Power as a cash generator. I know some supporters are desperate for tickets and will have to do anything for them but I would urge them to think before they sign up for an account. You will have more chance of getting a ticket at face value on e-bay than winning these tickets and are just lining the pockets of an already very rich company.

Whilst I am not naive enough to presume clubs watch what we are all doing with our tickets, I'm pretty sure there are rulings on their disposal? Once we get to the final, will they have another set of tickets to encourage yet more desperate fans to open accounts?

Fucking immoral, me thinks!!!

Ralph, here is an even better story concerning Everton's semi-final tickets. If you know how the Joe Mercer lounge at Godison Park works then you will understand the chaos that has been caused by those who run our club.

When the ticket allocation was announced, EFC then announced that a lounge at Wembley was being made available to lounge members at Everton. The cost of a ticket was £198. A perk of being a lounge member at EFC is that you get first crack at away tickets and get a guarantee of a ticket if we get involved in big games, ie FA Cup semi-finals.

Lounge members were told to pick up their tickets for Wembley by 8:00pm Wednesday night. Guess what happened next?

Supporters who have been paying around £2,500 a season for the privelage of these lounge memberships were told there were no tickets left for them, even though they were ordered weeks ago. Good pals of mine are amongst these who have been ripped off.

The word coming from within the walls of Goodison Park from a source who wishes to remain anonymous is that our very own Chairman has taken the lion's share of these tickets to dish out to his lackies and bumchums thus leaving god knows how many with fuck all.

Since Thursday, the Joe Mercer members who have been stung have been offered the £50 tickets that the club are telling other supporters won't be released until the 6th April. It's an absolute fucking disgrace that Kenwright should trample all over fans who are the lifeblood of the club becauset of his own needs.

Typical of Everton under this regime that the one time supporters get to use the perks that they are told come with being in the JM lounge, it gets snatched away.

Billy Bigtime has basically kicked them all in the balls and then said, "Take one of these other lesser tickets or go fuck yourself" I have got got mates to sort out. Of course the chairman is entitled to take whatever tickets he wants ? as long as they were not promised to others that is ? but this is shameful.

God only knows what disgraceful scenes will ensue if we reach the final with a smaller allocation. Yet again, a ticketing fiasco is about to engulf our once proud club.... Nice one Billy.

Did you ever think that Paddy Power may have there own tickets rather than have to get them of Everton? Ie from the remaining 30,000 that go to all sorts of companies, organisations etc..

If what Tony Marsh is saying is true then that is despicable. Bill Kenwright claims to love Everton but he has just exposed himself as a liar. That kind of behaviour gives me the impression that he really doesn’t care about fans of this football club. He should be bloody ashamed of himself as it appears to be him that is snidy behind the scenes and Moyes gets him out of trouble everytime.

Tony Marsh, You putting the boot in to this club is getting really tiresome.

Your inexhaustible supply of "anonymous sources" obviously share a hatred of this club with you.

I would guess that you were against the agent johnson era as any evertonian would naturally be, so that means that you?ve been against the people who run our club for 15 plus years!

On here, you?ve sniped at the chairmen, the board, the marketing department, the manager, the coach and virtually ALL the players!

I understand that people have opinions but, mate, you seemingly have an agenda. Why don?t you tell the people on this site what it is?
As for your "sources", I?d urge people who read your nonsense to treat unattributable comments made by an anonymous 3rd person with the contept it deserves.

Tony, you should thank your lucky stars that BK is in charge of Everton, because if we had Ken Bates you would have been selling you ass to pay the court costs.

My God I’m dreading next week. The date I can get a ticket is the final Sunday as I’ve not been to a cup match, but do have a season ticket. Now obviously its my own fault for not going, but the club have promised all ST holders will get a ticket. Just wondering what odds Paddy Power will give for us running out about Thursday / Friday next week.

Also I wonder what the true ticket application was ? Maybe Tony’s anonymous mate can find out

It is quite easy to believe that Paddy Power was able to obtain two tickets without the need of Everton FC’s help, there are tens of thousands of tickets after ours and ManUre’s allocation so to use this as a way to have another dig at Everton is pitiful, almost as good as Marshy’s anonymous sources.

I heard that Bill Kenwright had cured a kid of leprosy, it must be true as I have just made it up.

Get a life for god’s sake. You have a ticket. I’m pretty sure Paddy Power can get a ticket without EFC. The club has dealt with the ticketing really well I think. Stop taking any opportunity to moan and fill your life with happier things!

And as for Marsh’s claims, nothing new there, spouting unfounded, frankly slanderous, nonsense about BK.

Strange how Mister Marsh can at times write quite elequently about his own football club, then given the opportunity he spoils it all and reverts to type.

The bitterness that he bottles up towards any of the management team at Everton is obviously ?simmering? away and the latest diatribe which once again is based on ?unknown? sources at the club in a News Of The World type expose is quite frankly, laughable.

His disciples on this website simply lap it up as further evidence of the ?devil incarnate? that is BK.

Grow up Tony.

Have a day off, Ralph. You are trying to criticise Everton football Club for giving tickets away to Paddy Power and... You have just signed up with Paddy's to try and get a ticket. Two-faced or what??? COYB

If Tony Marsh?s allegations are true then it would speak volumes for the contempt that the Club and especially the leadership has for its supporters.

Perhaps Tony Marsh can back these allegations up with hard evidence, if he can he should flag it up in the local media.

If on the other hand the allegations are incorrect, then Tony Marsh had better get himself a very good lawyer and PDQ.

Have to say I’m grinning like a cheshire cat at the army of St Bill jumping to his defence. Black Bill has a litany of documented lies including those spoken face to face with fathers and sons at the pre season friendly at Goodison about incoming players.

Don’t worry Tony, Black Bill might find a Taiwanese confectioners who sell sweets in spiders web shapes to try to sue or you might just have to "watch this space" and know the knock will never come.

I can't believe anyone would make up what I have said above just for the sake of it ? can you? Believe me, this has happened and no one at the club will tell fans where the tickets they are entitled to have gone.

We now know where they went but like so many times before some of us just won't accept what a slippery twat and a conman BK really is.

He has pocketed the tickets and if he wants to get his lawyers in I am sure all those wronged fans will be quite prepared to tell thier stories. If even one of these tickets did get traced to BK then that would be that.

Some real easily fooled Evertonians about these days...

Tony, I think somebody has misinformed you on the availability of those packages.

The OS quotes: ?The corporate and travel packages above are on sale exclusively to Executive members until 8pm on Wednesday, March 25, 2009. Places are limited and will be issued on a first come, first served basis?

It goes on to say that tickets at various prices will be issued to those who are too late to buy the packages.

So on this occasion your insider at the club has led you astray. You must now in all honesty retract your allegation as it would appear to have no substance.

Anthony Dyer, spot on. I was about to say the same thing.

Tony, you shoule be more careful about spreading stories like this when you don’t know them to be true. As we can see from this post, many people have taken what you said at face value. Just because you don’t like BK, that doesn’t mean it’s ok to spread lies about the man.

Anthony and Brian

Tony actually states he knows some of the disappointed people personally and that the tickets "were ordered weeks ago". These guys may have been told they will be entitled to these tickets long before any OS announcement.
Brian you have no right to say he?s lying. If the suite at Wembley is smaller than the JM suite, then of course it should come down to first come first served, but if it isn?t, then we need to know why these lounge tickets are being rationed and where the rest have gone.

These guys who pay 5 times more for their tickets than you and I do are the very people the club claim we need to attract to survive. Kicking them down the pecking order at the first glimmer of success offers them no reward for their extra outlay. Don?t you get it? these people will now take £50 tickets meaning the people who were entitled to £50 tickets will have to go mid range, which again pushes mid range people into the cheap seats... then some poor twat misses out.

If Tony Marsh discovers he is mistaken then I would expect him to come back and be big enough to say so. But if tickets are making their way to BK?s or anyone else?s friends' grubby little mitts, then Marshy is to be applauded for alerting us to it.

There are people at the top table at Everton who can afford the best seats in the house for their "buddies" if they feel they want to play big time Charlie. The 32,000 tickets the FA allocated to us, are ours.

I agree with Tony. I have been following this club for 57 years, the last 40 years as a season ticket holder. I currently hold 2 adult and 1 junior ticket.

As the game is on a Sunday, junior cannot go. I went to get my tickets on Monday and requested can I get an adult ticket instead of a junior. You would think I had commited a murder by the reaction of the people in charge, they informed me that they are following criteria. I reluctantly bought a junior ticket hoping I could swap it.

I then phoned the FA and asked them can I swap the junior ticket for an adult ticket. They told me that there is no problem with this simple request. I then went back to the club and told them what the FA had said but they wouldn?t listen.

I also know a friend of mine who has 3 children; himself and 2 of his children qualified to receive their tickets on Friday, the other child qualifies next week. He asked could the third child get his now, as he didn?t want his children seperated? This simple request was refused as they were following strict guidelines. Common sense went out of the window.

This club of ours is being run by morons. The way I feel now I just feel like packing it all in. In answer to all those people doubting Tony Marsh ? how can he name the source at the club who gave him this information, surely they would be sacked?

Forget what the offical site says, Anthony, it's a load of bollocks anyway. I personally know 6 lads who have been robbed of thier tickets after ordering them. It has happened to a lot more as well. It wasn't a source of mine within the club who I know personally who spilt the beans but the guys in question have know this person for years.

After all the shenanigans of the Sports Fortress Fund, whatever that is,and the £30 million being ring-fenced for the Kings Dock, the Free Stadium in Kirkby that was free but now isn't free, or for that maatter world class and seating 50.000 ? do you reaaly think BK isn't capable of pocketing tickets for himself??

I may be many things but I am no LIAR and niether are my pals. I hope some of the ones who are doubting my credibilty are the same ones who miss out when the numbers don't add up next month. I mean let's face it, this won't be the first time tickets have gone awol at this club will it??

This is really fucken bothering me.

There's a young lad who I work with who, due to other financial obligations couldn?t raise the necessary to buy a season ticket, but he hasn't missed a game since Franny Jeffers was his hero. Unless one of us can get our hands on a spare, he probably won't get a ticket. You all know someone like this.

I?ll accept it's tough luck on these guys if the tickets are distributed reasonably fairly. But if someone is abusing their position by dipping into the pile, I want them outed.

Just you wait untill the end of next week and watch the shit hit the fan with the ticketing arrangements.
