Everton in Edmonton

Comments (7)

News reports from the Alberta Soccer Association say that Everton will play in Edmonton on July 25. This event will celebrate the ASA 100th year. The other club said to be involved are River Plate. The ASA tried to get AC Milan, but there were scheduling conflicts. The game will be played at Commenwealth Stadium, all grass field, seating capacity is about 58,000.

Oh happy day, I hope that it will give "soccer" a great boost over here, and raise the mighty blues profile on this side of the pond.

Excellent, if we got 37,000 for the LA Galaxy and the USL-1 Vancouver Whitecaps, we should sellout for Everton and River Plate.
The record soccer crowd in Edmonton is 55,000 for a Brazil-Canada friendly prior to WC 94.
Seating capacity is actually 62,000 if all seating areas are used.

Great news for all us Blues over here in Edmonton - should be a sell out at Commonwealth Stadium.

I am going over to the pool on Sunday for a couple of weeks to visit me Ma she lives right by Goodison, so I will pop in and see if I can get an itinery for the team while they are here.

Anyone over here in sunny Alberta know if there is such a thing as an EFC supporters club..??

We will be making the trip up from Calgary, with my dad who will be flying over from Liverpool around that time, he is hoping he will be on the players flight.
Anyone know where you would buy tickets from, is it directly fromt the stadium?

You should be able to get tickets through the Alberta Soccer Association, and possibly through Ticketmaster. We’ll know more once the official announcement. If the match hasn’t sold out, they’ll sell tickets at the gates on matchday.

Even though I support the lads from the other side of Stanley Park, I’m really looking forward to seeing Everton play here!

The match has been confirmed; the opponents will be River Plate, and tickets should be fairly easy to come by. Try the ASA, Ticketmaster, or Commonwealth Stadium! See you in the stands!
