The Mail Bag

In expectation of the new shop..

Comments (17)

Just been having a mooch on EvertonDirect.com and I have to say, if this is a reflection of the range and quality of gear we can expect from the new shop then we should all be pretty pleased! Couple of really nice items on there ? I've already dropped Father's Day hints to my wife about the Dixie statue and the framed Bob Latchford shirt!

Suffice to say, the club will certainly see my merchandise spending go up as a result of this. We're often accused of being quick to criticise when the club get stuff wrong, but on this showing the merchandising (admittedly shocking for at least the last ten years) looks to be heading in the right direction. Nice one!

Looks a lot better range than before. I think I’ll be spending a few bob there.

Looks good, as does the new store, sandwiched between the tired-looking offie Benitez Wines and the long-established Gerrard Diving School.

This is great, I think I might put an order in after payday:

Great range of merch and a Liverpool One location? At last. Well done to the club, this has been needed for a while. I’ll certainly be spending a bit on the new online megastore!

As a professional web designer, the site certainly looks the part (if a bit busy for my tastes) and the products seem more varied.

Good start

I had a look last night and agree I’ll be spending money there! For many years me and my dad have had conversations bemoaning the lack of presence in the city centre and the lack of online merchandise, it’s certainly a step in the right direction and hopefully a sign that the board are becoming more commercially aware.

Material looks good, but I had problems with page views ? reading on Mac/Safari ? text appearing all over picture of product lines... Anyone else having bother with this?

Just had a look on the website, clicked on homewares, saw the heading "bedroom accessories", thought "yes, now were talking". But what do I see? Two coathangers and a piggybank.

Yeah, I saw the sight today and was pretty happy at the variety. And the international shipping costs are MUCH more reasonable. I will have a dollar or to heading to the club from here in the US.

Much better than the previous brand. I think having the French in may have to do with the improved designs too (Le Coq)

Couldn’t have done much worse than JJB and Umbro!

Just checked it out and I agree. Good place to start and hopefully it will keep improving.

What’s with the blue tops to the home kit’s socks? They should be all white!!! FFS!

Oh well, I never buy the socks anyway, but I think the lads would look better with plain white socks.

Overall, I’m not that keen on the training range. What’s with all the wavy lines, and why do the t-shirts appear to have massive sleeves? Is it an optical illusion? I guess some people will love the range, but if we all liked the same styles the world would be a boring place.

I moaned about the Umbro kit because it was straight out of a mould and loads of other teams had very slight variations of it, but I actually quite liked the training stuff. I bought a few of the Umbro training tops when the OS had the fire sale and everything was going at 50%. Not feeling the new stuff at all, but love it or hate it, I will definitely be getting a home shirt. It’s mandatory.

Much better on the effort though from the club.

COYB!!

I don’t know about the financial set-up in the club, but it does look like Elstone’s appointment has introduced some welcome change in this area.

Transfer market money? Let’s hope so.

Alan Wilson : I am reading it on Mac/Safari too and it works perfectly fine.

Can’t believe I now have a choice of 4 different ties that I can wear to work ! Wonder why my Chelski-supporting boss will think about that....

Just had a browse around the online shop; its such a vast improvement on the last few years.

Although its totally ridiculous I quite like this (good for your desk at work):

The canvases are good too, the Alan Ball one looks really classy (shame about the ’new’ Everton crest on them though).

I bet most of you are already aware of this, but for those that aren’t...
I read an interview with Robert Elstone in the Daily Post recently and he was commenting on the new Everton shop to be situated in the Liverpool One development. He said that as it is the second shop it was to be called Everton Two. This means that the postal address would be: Everton Two, Liverpool One. Pure class...

I’m loving the new training shirts, will certainly be getting one of those.
I hope whoever thought of the Everton Two name got a massive pat on the back too. Simple, but pure genius.

Paul,

The training stuff is gorgeous. I prefer it to the strip.

I must be one of the view that actually likes the home kit. I think it?s really nice and striking.

The away kit however, jeeeeeesus, I hope the drawings of that are blag! Who ever buys that, shame.

The new site is spot on, the merchandise is varied and looks really good quality. I think Kitbag and Le Coq have been a good move. I would prefer Nike but that's just vanity.
