About the worst kit I have ever seen

Comments (57)

I know that it's the players who play in it and it does not matter what kit you wear, etc, but I have to say this new kit is quite simply embarrassing.

I for one won't be buying it and I know that there will be a lot more with my opinion on it as well.

It’s the fact that the area across the breasts, looks like a bra! I know for some of our more larger fans this could be a blessing in disguis-e but for the rest of us it is embarrassing.

Pretty poor effort IMO.

Its different from the pic we saw a few weeks back..

First impressions arent great, Umbro’s efforts havent been great in the past few years..

Sure it will grow on you once we start winning in it.

I can forgive the stiching across the chest but that V is way too long. They should of made it smaller or got rid of it completely. I guess it’s in recognition for when they manufactured our kit in the 80s but looks shite

Has to be the girliest kit we’ve ever had. I think the fans should boycott it to send a message... We Deserve Better!

That really is awful looking and it does look like a dress. Even posing for a photo Saha can’t muster up a smile wearing it. He doens’t look happy. The stitching across the front is ridiculous looking.

I can deal with the style, but the stitching across the chest looks like crap.

Its one thing to decide to pay homeage to our heritage, but we could have done it with a bit more style.

This is even worse than the one that got leaked a few weeks back and I thought that was bad. Someone raised a good point that we haven’t seen the away kit yet which is apparently even worse.

What annoys me though is in one way I am glad that we are celebrating the success we had with a similar kit in the 1980’s(the players names on the inside of the shirt been the best bit about the kit IMHO) but at the same time we are highlighting the lack of success since then(even more so after failing to win the other day) and we are setting ourselves up to be a laughing stock with this one.

I want to see this team breathe success and they need a new image for themselves. In the coming season they are going to have enough pressure on themselves just to try and repeat what they did this year nevermind trying to better it, I dont think they needed the weight of ’the greats’ of their shoulders aswell.

This kit is definitely not the one leaked a few weeks back.

However, I do like the away kit. It?s Kanye meets Goodison. Very cool. I?m just hoping they don?t fuck that one up like they did the home kit.

We really will be the laughing stock of the league with this kit.

Just looked at it, not as bad as I was expecting seen worse. The "V" could be smaller and the stitching is a good idea just in the wrong place. At least there is no collar then it would look like it will be worn at Wimbledon, by Serena Williams.

Also, the white V should taper to a point and it doesnt.. its also too big, compare Saha with the real ’85 kit: http://www.sporting-heroes.net/files_football/GRAY_Andy_M_1985_GH_L.jpg

It's crap but I can't see us being "a laughing stock" because of it. Personally, I won't buy it but I never do anyway ? Football shirts should be worn by footballers on the pitch and kids under 12 only in my view.

It's a football kit ? not a fashion statement and if the opposing fans are that anal that our kit bothers them, then so what?

Sorry fellas, but I'm in the really like boat on this one, looks crisp, the right colour blue, the Le Coq badge looks pretty nice alongside the Everton badge on the other chest and if you're going to do a Vee in a homage to the past, might as well go all out like they have done, not put a fiddly little Vee like some people are suggesting.

I guarantee that up close in the flesh it will look even better. I would suggest though that the only people that will look good in it are athletes though, and the seam at the front does take a little getting used to, it's a marked improvement on the lazy Umbro templates we've been handed recently a la West Ham, Sunderland, Blackburn etc.. a unique modern original design for a unique team.

I'm with Mark above, though... football shirts are for footballers not a fashion statement. This is loads better than a lot of new kits I've seen, wait 'til you see Spurs monstrosity! And the redshites black away refs top... at least they will be now blatant about referee favouritism.

As a lover of all things retro I was really looking forward to this and I’m dissappointed,

I quite like the design idea being a homage to the 85 kit but I was hoping it would be a more taylored fit like the 85 kit, This just looks like one of thos awful Toffs replicas with a baggy cut designed for 50 year old blokes with moobs.

Still, like someone pointed out, I’m sure it will grow on us once we start winning games in it.

At least it shows Le Coq have put some thought (rightly or wrongly) into it, unlike Umbro who have one design and just change the colour according to which team its for.

In recent seasons you’ve also had to get a magnifine glass to find out what change Umbro had made to the shirt.

Extraordinarily, mind-bogglingly bad, I can?t even begin to imagine how they ever thought that was a good idea. So much for shirt sales, who is going to buy that disaster??

Umbro have been making shite for the past 3 years and this is a mile better.

The training stuff is absolute class and the new evertondirect.com is also quality. Plenty of choice and the stuff looks very good quality.

Anything is an improvement JJB and Umbro in my opinion and Kitbag and Le Coq are off to a flyer if you ask me.

PS. I hope the sketches of the away kit were someones idea of a bad joke. Fuck me, it looks a Gay Freddy Krugers away top.

The White V is huge, it looks ridiculous. The problem here is that because it looks so fuckin stupid, a lot of people who would normally buy it, won’t and that means less money for Everton. I’m not going to buy it simply because I want to give Everton a load of money, I want to buy something that I think looks decent and that I won’t look a twat in. Did they not ask people first what they thought about it? I know it’s all about opinion, but surely someone within LCS noticed that it looked shit and most people wouldn’t like it? It’s fuckin awful. What a fuck up. They’ll soon realise when sales plummet...oops. Has a side ever changed a kit mid-season??

Poop.

Here’s an idea. Why not get the manufacturers to knock up a few prototypes. Stick them on the OS, here, bluekipper etc and get people to vote for which one they like best. Then go for that one. That way people might actually go out and buy the thing. I suppose that’s too easy for us.

I’m praying that this isn’t going to be the final product but have a horrible feeling it will be.

Heaven forbid we pair up with Nike or adidias and get kits & leisurewear that might actually sell. Still when turnover & merchandising doesnt improve due to people with taste not wanting to be seen around town in LCS leisure wear BK will say he was right about not making profit out of merchandising. When this deal ends i expect us to go with Gola or Admiral

Seriously, what the fuck?! It really isn't that bad if that is what the final version looks like! But, to be fair, it looks quite photo-shopped to me! Anyway it really isn't as bad as some people are saying, for Christ's sake!

And some of the other stuff looks proper smart like the training range and other stuff, it's a lot different to the other shirts we?ve had recently, and I've brought a new kit almost every season and looked at it and thought, "What's the diffrence?" At least theres a change here and it looks good, it's blue with a bit of white, it's got an Everton badge... what's not to like?!

And for anyone who says they're not going to buy it, fair play, do what you like... but really do stop going on about it like it's the end of the world! If Arteta left, fair enough, say it's a fucking disgrace blah blah blah, but you're all getting so upset over something that isn't going to make a lot of difference to us as a club! It's just a shirt!

I've just been checking out the images of our new home kit online, and to say I'm disappointed would be a huge understatement! What a hideous kit!!!

Here was me hoping we'd go for something fresh and innovative for the coming season, seeing as we have now adopted the mantle of a club who is renowned for blooding talented and promising youngsters, all I see when I look at that kit is a second rate kit designer stuck in a timewarp who has merely thrown a few hotch-potched ideas into the mix. Fair enough, they've rather surprisingly opted for Leon Osman as the model, and let's face it, he could make a Hugo Boss suit look raggy-arse!

I was just hoping for something fresher that makes a statement, and I honestly can't see kids running out in their droves to snap up this design. Something along the lines of the Italy shirt made by kappa, with it's slimmer fit, modern print and fresh detail would be what I was expecting, I think Portsmouth and Chelsea have gone down similar lines with their kits recently also. (I do take on board the issues that your average 20 stone beer-guzzling fan might have with this - but then again, we do sell polo shirts in the merchandise store!)

Every Evertonian I speak to at the moment crows about the expectations of youth with the promise of Rodwell, Gosling, Vaughan et al, and that hopefully this is the dawn of an exciting new era for our beloved club - surely this year more than any other, would have been the right time to throw out something more bold and daring???

I fully expect a barrage of protests from all you historical blues out there, but personally I am thinking of the future right now, and so might I add, are the 4 teams we're trying to catch!!!!
