Our Jack

I have just watched the England U-21 team win 7-nil and it was a delight to see our Jack come on for the second half. The future is certainly bright. From the moment Jack Rodwell came on, he looked total class, dominating the midfield, stroking the ball around, and taking control. I am convinced he will get better and better and will be the fulcrum of Everton and England for many years to come.
I think next season Pip will find himself right back with Jack dominating the defensive midfield position, linking with Mikey, which is mouth-watering. Moysey needs to strengthen the right midfield but with Peanuts, Tiger Tim and the Big Fella, I think we can compete with the best. We must not sell Joleon and get one more quality striker and we are off!!!

I too believe that Rodwell should be first choice at DM, him and Mikky with either the Big Fella or Timmy behind the striker, all we?d need is a fit Yak and a right winger and we?d be flying. Right wing is the only position that desperately needs strengthening imo.
I think if Moyes gives him his chance from the start of the season, he will outshine Fellaini easily.
Rodwell is going be one hell of a player...
I think Moyes has done right with Rodwell so far with regards to usage in games. In 1 or 2 that he has started, he has looked a bit lost, and was shocking in the first half in the cup qtr final against Boro. I think next season for him will be same again with maybe a little extra playing time. It would be daft to give him the sole responsibility of a what has been a very important position under Moyes.
I know we like to get carried away with our own youth players coming through but come on. Dont believe the hype. There was 5 or 6 better players in the England team last night and 3 or 4 of them were played out of position, they had a goal keeper up front for Gods sake, it was a joke of a game!
Jack will be lucky to get in there as 7 of Englands likley U21s will probably be back from injury. Azerbizian or who ever they were were like i a kids sunday league team. Its no great thing that Jack wasnt outclassed by them.
All jack did was pass backwards and sideward, and a couple of times when he did try forward long passes they were over hit out of play, even his goal took a massive deflection. Sorry but i cant understand why people seem to rate Rodwell higher than Fellaini, Fellaini will get better next season just like Jack will improve but Fellaini will be better again.
I saw the under 21’s last night and Rodwell did ok i suppose, it was just a steady performance, and lets be honest, the opposition was shit too, but you can see he’s not a natural midfield player, yeah he can pass the ball and spray it around well with both feet but for me, he doesnt do enough to make space for himself, he was always at the side of an opponent, he didnt do enough to get away from em to recieve the ball and thats why the back line when he dropped in deep asking for it didnt really give him it and when they did he got rid straight away, he’s got to do more to get away from his marker when wanting the ball, then he can get his head up and spot other passes instead of the simple 5-10 yard pass because when he as got space and time to get his head up and pick a pass he’s very capable, i know he’s a redshite cunt but you watch how Gerrard plays, he’s always moving into space away from his marker and that allows him to spot things quicker and gives him time to zip it into Torres or spread balls wide and id like to see some of are midfielders move about like that instead of being one paced and not moving, thats why majority of the time we play hoofball, because no one does enough movement wise to give an option to the player on the ball!.
Didn't see the game last night but I think some people just need to calm down abit regarding Rodwell. Yes, he has shown he's got great potential but that's it. He should not/will not be a regular next season. Moyes will do what's right ? keep introducing him gradually into games and develop him as a player that way ? hes not a 1st team regular yet but boy he could turn out to be a Goodison great!!! Fingers crossed.
The problem we have with Rodwell is that he?s represented by the snake that is Paul Stretford and his company.
If he turns out to be as good as what we think he?ll be, how long before he?s starts to manoeuvre a move away for him?

In Rodwell we have a POTENTIALLY very very good player. However Potential is the key word. Remeber he’s only 18!
20-30 games next season, with 10-15 starts is what should be targeted.
He is not a central midfield player, however playing there now could really develop him. But he could develop into a really top class defender.
However people cannot put too much pressure on the lad and people must also be reasonalbe when he has his occasional shocking performance.
However things look good, and if we can continue with this influx, our squad could be much better for it, having free quality as back-up, allowing us to spend big on individuals to take us the next level.
Any links for the goal he scored last night. I believe it was good.
I think young Jack would be wasted as a defender but knowing Moyes like we all do, he loves his defenders, so probably can?t wait to move him there and what a waste of a talent that would be.
He is one of the few players to excite me last season, in a manly non gay way like.
He looks so composed on the ball and comfortable with it. Yes he is a little sideways sometimes but with games and confidence I hope he will become one hell of a defensive midfielder
We were chuffed when Rodders came on at half time, and the beauty of being at the game was we were able to watch him all the time, not just when tv decided.

Mike Suffolk what kind of a garbage post is that? Moyes was the one who made the decision to play Jack in midfield in the first place even though his prefered position is in defence, but instead of giving Moyes credit for it you decide to turn it around on him and take a cheap shot at him, unbelievable!
And whats wrong with being a defender anyway? correct me if im wrong but isnt the most expensive english player ever a defender, didnt Ferdinand once play in midfield but now he is Man Utds and Englands best defender? Yes what a waste putting him back there! whos stupid idea was that?
