Time to Boo!

People keep talking about getting behind the players but enough is enough. If we just sit a smile and say "nice try lads at least there was one game this season where we only conceded one goal" what kind of message does that send? To me it sens a message of "mediocrity is good enough" and any player worth his salt will want to leave for a club with higher standards.
Moyes for his part makes me laugh. Maybe the Standard Liege player should have been sent off but ultimately what he is saying is that if we had had 11 players and they only 10 then we would have won. OK so even though we signed their "best player" for £15 million and have established internationals like Yakubu, Saha, Cahill, Neville etc in our squad we still need to have a numerical advantage in terms of players to beat an inexpensively assmbled bunch of nobodies from Belguim. Nice work Moyes worth £3.5m a year for that alone.
I am pretty sure we will either draw 2-2 with NU or lose this weekend and while Kinnear is hailed as a savior Moyes will say "We couldn't have done more, Nev had a shot off target and Yobo got one tackle in. Who could ask for more?"
I will say "I ask for more" because you've been here 6½ years, Kenwright even longer, and the nucleus of your team for almost as long so to show my displeasure I am going to "boo" because nothing but the best will do.

You are going to come all the way over from the States to boo them are you.
The idea is that we give them encouragement not depression and it might work, or isn’t that the Yankee way of doing things?
Did anyone notice the length of Blue Bill?s shaggy hair last night when the camera flashed on him watching the game? Looks like the guy can?t afford a haircut never mind give David that raise.
I have not known an Everton team like this one with the ability to deflate the crowd. How is anyone expected to get up watching that shower of non triers?
What a load of bollocks.
If you don’t want to support the blues then don’t turn up.
If your a real supporter turn up and shout up.
Fuck Moyes and Neville if they can’t raise the side then it up to the fans.
35000 voices singing loud and clear are needed on Sunday. It might even scare the Geordies into keeping there shirts on.
Everyone on this site ends by saying COYB. Well it needs saying at Goodison. Lift our team and intimidate
the other shower.
Russ....are you bringing the song sheets then? ......sounds like Eurovision to me......and if we still give Newcastle a two goal start .... then what??....... Don?t be daft! ......You make it sound like it?s the fans fault for Everton?s troubles....what next???
Ashley Davies, butter wouldn’t melt. The British don’t boo their teams? Although I would hold it until we see lack of effort which is when they truly deserve it.
We boo anyway, it’s not like we’d be doing anything different.
Welcome to the Sky mentality........ Boo our players, that?s a great idea, maybe we could look like twats and sing "You don?t know what your doing" so a camera can pan in on our faces then Moyes.
Me, I would rather support my team and my personal favourite is to shout at the ref ? but that?s just me.
Go the match to boo? Nahhhh... if I ever felt that way, I would rather save my money and go the boozer instead.
If they do play badly on Sunday then damn skippy they should be booed off. There is no way we should be getting beat by Newcastle.
Tony if you wanna boo the ref instead of spotting the failures in your own team then keep digging your head in the sand mate.
It’s time to show our displeasure, after all we’re pissing away our money for this shower while they’re earning a fortune and getting away with not turning up on the pitch. If I was doing crap in my job my boss would tell me, so why should the players get away with it when they’re having a crap game, why should Moyes get away with it when he’s being tactically inept?
How about a radical thought ? That the players and manager give us something good to sing and cheer and shout about ? Will 35000 blues in manic mode really scare the opposition so that they make mistakes, are intimidated and can’t concentrate ? Perhaps that’s why our team is playing badly - we’re making them lose concentration with all the noise that we’re making :0) So let’s have less shouting and more applause at the end of a fine piece of passing so that our defenders can keep focussed, our midfield can perfect the silky pass or shimmy past two or three defenders and our forwards can leap like a graceful salmon to head home a classic goal from a perfectly weighted free kick or corner. Come on you Toffees, let’s give the Magpies a jolly good game so that we can wear our scarf with pride and sound our rattle with excitement........
Simple fact is the players do try, they tried last night and will try again on Sunday. Unfortunately at the top level of sport trying is not enough. Its easy to say this and its probably been said 100 times before, but I will because its true.
I feel for the lad but Tony Hibbert is a league one player at best, worst distribution of a professional player I have EVER seen. Embarrassing. Baines has gone backwards and isnt good enough either. Osman is technically decent but is too small, slow and weak for top level midfield football.
Neville is just not a midfielder, just get him at right back and do the best of a bad job. I agree that we should get behind them all because they do try . . . sadly it isnt enough.
Sorry Matt, I have to disagree with you, Neville’s is the worst distribution I’ve ever seen.
Agree with you on Osman though he isn’t strong enough to hold players off.
Arteta has just given up completely.
The whole of our defence seem to have taken a step backwards, they’ve lost their confidence. Something must be different in training because they don’t know what they are doing anymore.
I’m all for booing at the final whistle, it would take a realy blatant display of disinterest from the players for me to boo before hand.
However, I feel that the problems are stemming from our poor summer rather than from the actual players.
That’s not to say that the players are blameless but my anger is currently more with the board, possibly with Moyes (I don’t know who to blame until we get the truth about this pathetic summer).
What a Joke!!!
Whilst I agree about your comments regarding Moyes saying we should have been playing 10 men, you should never Boo your own team under any circumstances.
I know how disappointing it can be at times but never Boo, it's pathetic.
My guess is the atmosphere will be shite as it usually is, The away fans will out sing us as they usually do. If we are not winning after 5 mins we will get on the players back instead of supporting them. Then if we lose we?ll go home and write on ToffeeWeb how the team is shite but the fans are the best etc etc.
No Peter, the football we pay to watch is pathetic, and if a bunch of multi-millionaires cant be arsed to give 100% then I will show my displeasure by booing, along with the majority of paying supporters who spend £100 to take there kids to see there team play hoofball.
Booing is not going to help this team. They have no confidence and seem scared of making a mistake. If anything they need to walk out to an atmospher like Liege put on the other night to give them a encouragement and pride in their club again. I know its hard impossible to get excited about the crap we are currently playing booing and providing no atmosphere is only going to help the opposition.
I can see where this initial post is coming from and when the team has turned in some of the performances like they have this season, what are you meant to do, clap them off after they have just been stuffed by Pompey 3-0!!! Booing is down to pure frustration but I also think we need to start getting some nuts if we ever want the club to progress forward. Are we happy to give the ?lads? a pat on the back and say well done, better luck next time!! For me, this mentality signals a lack of ambition and frustration!!
Kieran,
it will have to be some fucking boo if its gonna be heard from the States.
Oh, and dont forget the time difference, or you could potentially be booing football focus by mistake.
Of course they deserve to be booed for not trying. Last weekend’s trip to Merseyside from Ireland cost me £250 for the ferry (for myself and 2 other guests), £100 in petrol (driving across Wales & Ireland), £200 in hotel bills, £165 in tickets (£35 each but I had to buy 3 memberships first at a further £20), and a further £50 in food, etc. That’s the best part of £800 for a game that these pampered millionaires couldn’t even fucking try to perform in.
I’ve never booed my team and I never will.
@ Andy Griff: The "super fan" mentality allows clubs to get away with murder.
@ Jay. You must be watching a different team if you think they aren?t trying. Sometimes things just don?t go your way no matter how hard you try.
