I don’t know if there is a Romanian word with a different meaning but prior to his goal Fellaini got out jumped by a midget and the Romanian

Is it just me, or does there seem to be a nice balance to the team today?
Osman looks so much better in the middle of the park. Pienaar back seems to have taken some of the pressure of Arteta, he looks so much more comfortable today. The back 4 (apart from the goal ) look solid. No Neville = no hoofball? The only grey cloud on the horizon, is with Man u and Arsenal coming up, you can see Moyes going back to 4-5-1, and Neville (if fit ) coming back in.
I reckon we have have to much for the Geordies today, and should go on to get a couple more. Also, nice to see Fellaini bag one.

Great 1st half, awful 2nd half, caught cold for the 2nd goal - pretty fair result overall. We looked alot better today in the 1st half and Newcastle played the best they’ve played all season in the 2nd half.

Rob Lyons - relax mate, thats football and its whywe love it.

The RS won 3-2 after being 2 down so it can happen to anyone.

Onward & upward, some good performances and DM can be proud of his players and his own choices today; he’s been pretty brave going with a 442 and putting on 2 strikers near the end to try & win it.

No need to slate anyone - I thought it was quite enojyable to watch myself.

I just cant understand it, we have no penetration and again Arteta was awful. Apart from the penalty Arteta was so ineffective today. His compass his weight of kick was completely shot to pieces. I think moyes should bite the bullet and give Arteta a fortnight on the bench it seems he needs to sort his head out.

Yet again we miss a true leader on the park, no one seemed to want to grab the game by the scruff of the neck

Stef - we were awful in the 2nd half as I said in my first post! Lescott & Jags play the ball long too often yes, but is that DM?s fault? I dunno, could it be that they don't know what else to do because they?re not very cultured defenders?

The message from the dressing room is negative of course, something else I already mentioned ? why? Because of everything that happened in the summer, the exit from Europe, the lack of signing etc etc, theres loads of reasons, but if you think that the only answer is that the manager has gone AWOL, then I think you?re insane!

Over the course of the season we?ll be ok, we?ve had a bad start but I?m confident it?ll pickup.

In the meantime, you can carry on being negative, I?m off to get on with my life.

West Brom can string two back to back wins together which is a damn sight better than us. Go to Arsenal and lose 1-0 whereas we?ll get hosed. I really don?t see where two wins on the bounce are going to come from. On paper, our start to the season was a real opportunity to establish a decent position in the league before the tougher challenges came. Well, were virtually relegation fodder and now come the tough games. The side has no character, players are enveloped with fear, there is no leadership, no spirit of adventure. 2. Is it DM?s fault that we play hoofball you ask? Of course not you idiot! Its Bin Laden?s fault. Or erm the queen. No, George Bush? Let me know when I get close, because I thought our tactics were given out by our manager. Shows what an idiot I am.

james i,m a very positive person and a very positive evertonian just like you but, david moyes is negative and is dragging us down. can you remember the season when we qualified for the champs leauge. we were flying high with 451 football then after the new year every team worked out how to combat that. did moyes change anything NO. as a result we won 2-3 from then and finished fourth because the teams below were shite ,not the fact we were good. moyes has not progressed since then thats just mho so its not a knee jerk reaction especially our current run of dodgy forms goes back to feb-march and the fiorentina game

I’m about to jib this completely, too fucking depressing. Would rather spend a few hours weeding the garden and the missus doesn’t have to put up with me being a narky bastard. Moyes signing for 5 years will be the end for me. Completely Serious

The thing is, James, when do you start worrying? You keep saying "We are on a bad run, and we will come good." By then though, it could be too late to challenge for a top 5 place. If we get beat by Man Utd and Arsenal, you will probalby say, "There is still nothing to worry about," because you expected us to lose those 2 games. I think there was plenty there today (those who were left by the end of the game) who were far from happy, which was shown by the booing.

I can't take much more... this has to be the most stressful club ever to follow. I'm sure it will come good again and bad, but then we will always be a mid-table club unless we get the billionare owner (ha ha!) ? we can only wish. Can?t wait for the next two games :-). BTW, love the bitching in the threads ? haha ? cheers me up.

Wasn?t it ace not having Neville in the team?

Apart from that, who do we balme for the abject failure to beat a team without a proper manager?

Moyes is a disgrace. His haggling over his contract must distract the team.

Howard has to be dropped. If it wasn?t for Baines he would nave conceded several more today. I would rather have Nash than Howard on this form.

Yak needs to be dropped too as Anichebe deserves a run.

Flat track Arteta! You can see why none of the Sky 4 want him.

I thought Osman did well today and good to see Fellatio score.

Simply awful performance today, I?m not sure I agree with those who say we played well first half I thought it was more a case of Newcastle playing particularly poorly, though I thought Baines and Fellaini were both outstanding. Arteta was poor by his own standards and Saha might as well have stayed in the dressing room as he contributed absolutely nothing throughout the entire game. Why on earth did Moyes leave it so late to replace him??? Hibbert has gone to sleep in two consecutive games now, allowing players to arrive at the far post on each occasion. Well, it looks as though its going to be a long hard season from here on in.

Why can?t we ever play positive attacking football at home? We never seem to have midfielders pouring forward in support like Newcastle had today, especially for their 2nd goal.

Moyes badly needs to instill confidence and self-belief in the squad, and fast!

Just recovering from the debacle, I offer the opinion that although the defence as a whole has been inconsistent this season, the underlying problem lies with the full backs. Hibbert is simply useless (I cannot totally respect Moyes as long as he continues to pick Hibbert) and Baines is too small. It seemed to me that Newcastle deliberately targeted Baines in the second half with the high ball inside the fullback. Having said that, Baines had a reasonable game but that cannot alter his size ? or lack of it.

But with one full back a liability and the other too small, no wonder the centre backs are living on their nerves all the time!

Surprised Neville hasn't been blamed for todays gutless showing. From the minute Yakuba lazily lost the ball to lead to their goal, we were awful; up until then, we at least played a little bit of football. The 2nd half was shocking and once again Moyes was terrified to try something different, Vaughan was given 6 minutes and immediatley the tempo was upped but Moyes seems scared to try anything different, which is why he will never be a top class manager. As for our new captain fantastic, once again MIA as I expected. We are in a relegation struggle and having to watch some terrible football, some people are happy to accept it ? I am not.

Nobody can ever fault David Moyes for what he has brought to this club since he arrived, helping us avoid relegation in his 1st season, or part season, and for helping the club achieve European place finishes for 3 out of 5 seasons, that in itself is pretty impressive.

Ok, now the accolade is out the way, let's look at the bad bits on Mr Moyes's CV: cup defeats to Shrewsbury and Oldham that were so embarrassing; poor performances in Europe, last season excluded; the 7-0 thrashing at Arsenal; 6-2 thrashing at Newcastle; 2005-06 season where we finished 17th and lost 3 games 4-0 ? Villa, West Brom and Bolton; and finally Moyes's lack of bollocks in the merseyside derbies; Hibbert right back and Neville midfield every time ? it doesn't work.

On a final note, since Dave took over, how many times have we won at Anfield, Stamford Bridge, Old Trafford or any of the Arsenal grounds? Answer is none. I hereby rest my case. Time for Davey to check out.

Brian, I have no idea why Lescott has lost his poise ? you have got me there. However, I think that a confident Lescott at left back is a better overall proposition than Baines at left back ? despite the fact that Baines is probably a better footballer.

As for the other guy at right back, I think Yakubu would make a better fist of it!

Ray, I?m baffled by your comments about Baines he was awarded MOM. How on earth do you arrive at your conclusions? We conceded the first goal as a result of Hibbert?s failure to pick up his man. As for the second goal, Pienaar failed to follow the runner, Baines was in no way involved.

As for the game in Belgium, Baines succeeded in doing exactly what Lescoot failed to do ? he matched the runs of Dalmat prompting the match commentators to add that Dalmat failed to influence the game in the way he had done so well at Goodison.

What are people going to do?? No Neville to blame for the result......Hibbert was good today though wasn’t he? Two excellent headers to their centre forwards - one in each half. A few boots up the wing and out of play......some great 5 yard passes to Jagielka..... Fucking clueless....but no doubt better than Neville eh?

This team just gets worse. How the fuck can you throw away a two goal lead against a team on a worse run and in a worse position than us?Tim Howard is fucking woeful, the last few goals he has let in have all been close to him to the point that in my opinion they could have been saved even by me!!!! instead he just flaps his arms about and looks like a rabbit in the headlights......drop the fucker!!!!!....Tony Hibbert is equally woeful and needs shooting as he just ball watches and does not mark his man,the Yak suddenly thinks he is Cristiano Ronaldo and keeps taking a dive when he should be strong enough to hussle people off the ball like he has done in the past and finally Felliani is not a box to box midfielder OR a defensive one at best...get Castillo back in the side he at least seems to know his position and likes a crack at goal......Moyes you have youre work cut out boy cos this team is a shadow of its former self and slipping fast....get it sorted.........

I?m just hoping Moyes is given the leeway to do another 12 months to show us what he could do perchance he gets a budget (if we are taken over) as I don?t see any world-beaters in the queue to replace him.

That said, he wasted every penny of the rooney £23m on Beattie, Davies, Krøldrup and Neville ? all duds, so I?m not holding my breath.

Brian, I think we?ve already shot our bolt when it comes to a top 5 spot - I?d say top 7 (UEFA Cup?) might be possible, but even that might be out of our reach.

Arsenal are beatable, Hull and Sunderland have shown that, whether we can beat them is another matter entirely.

Joeynkoo ? thanks for the abuse, but when you say that DM?s tactics are simply to play hoofball, yeah I disagree ? I think Lescott and Jags play that way, but the rest of them try to play it on the deck as much as possible. We struggle with people like Hibbert being asked to play wing-back because he?s simply not up to the task. Our other midfielders played some decent stuff today (1st half) and if you look at the Opta stats you?ll see that across the PL we tend NOT to play the long ball as much as a lot of people think.

Theres not getting away from the fact that we?re shit at the back, but apart from the defence I?d say we?re playing OK ? having said that, a good defence is obviously integral to playing well so we?re fucked at the moment!

James - you wrote: "...you can carry on being negative, I?m off to get on with my life." That just smacks of someone who doesn?t let Everton affect them that much.

Regards hoofball. Now then, you claim that DM doesn't want to play it, but that certain players repeatedly do so. What would you do as manager in that situation? Some players are deliberately ignoring your instructions, and we are losing goals and games as a result. They have done it for 10 matches this season so far. Hhmm. Whats a manager to do..

Regards DM - 2 managers have turned up now to GP on their first day in the office with their respective new clubs: Paul Ince who manufactured a Blackburn victory, and Joe Kinnear who got the better of our gameplan (whatever it was) to rescue a draw. Neither manager spent the whole summer at their clubs, neither manager spent the near £20m in the summer that DM has, yet both were able to out do DM and Everton on our own patch. Makes you wonder why people think DM is irreplaceable.

People banging on about Baines. He?s been shit in every game before yesterday. Yesterday, good first half, second half - shite. His crossing was terrible. I don?t think he?s very good to be honest and would prefer Lescott at LB.

As for the way we?re playing. Sometimes we play it on the deck and we keep the ball. Sometimes we play a long ball and 99 times out of 100 we lose the ball. I really want to show the manager and players a video of this and say "Long ball, lost possesion, next long ball, lost possession again (etc.), now get it through to your fucking thick heads - it doesn?t fucking work." Ridiculous.

Yesterday was the Yak?s fault for fucking up and losing possession. That goal changed the game. First half Newcastle looked the worst team I had ever seen. Second half, Everton were just pathetic. Fully pissed off.
