Charlton or Everotn

I am confused by all the negativeness and the fact that know one is dicussing the takeover situation? If the media is to be believed it is either going to be us or Charlton to be transformed into another possible Chelsea in terms of financing. It's a lottery it is YOU!

What's the point? Our wonderful PR department has vehemently denied the story... you're not suggesting that they could be lying to us, surely in the name of all that is holy!?!?!?!

I think we can safely say that Blue Bill is still hoping to attract ?an investor? rather than an outright ?new owner.?It would break his heart to give up his power base as he wishes to continue to exert influence over whomsoever comes in.

He glibly talks about ?doing what is right for the club? as if ANYTHING he has done apart from recruiting Moyes has worked out right. And even that is looking a little tarnished these days ? particularly in the light of that ridiculous contract!

Whats the point?

Look at Moyes interview in The Independent last week regarding Kenright wishing to retain a position & some control after a sale. Who in their right minds would buy under those terms!!!

Sky Sports are reporting that Zabeel Investments have ended their interest in Charlton FC. Watch the rumour mill go into to overdrive!!!

I see that the statement Charlton have issued says that the Zabeel group are not interested with any other English team.

It seems strange though that papers have been reporting now for over a week that they were going to pull out of Charlton and takeover Everton.

I for one have everything crossed that this is true. I want us to have money and to be able to buy player, I never want to go through a transfer window like we just did.

I heard they wanted to buy us before Charlton but were put off by the fact our shit manager had been given a £17million contract. They weren’t willing to pay him off so moved their interest to Charlton.

Why does anyone think that his rumour has any basis in fact? Black Bill is not selling, despite what he has said in the past. I think it should be put in the category of the Fortress Sports Fund, Kings Dock move and any other shit he has come out with.
If somebody wants to sell their business, they would want to maximise any return and sell it for the highest price possible. The worth of a company is on it’s balance sheet plus any goodwill/intangible assets. So if you wanted to sell why would you add a 17million pound liability to that balance sheet, which is exactly what Bill has done in giving Moyes that contract. If he seriously wanted to sell the new owners could have offered Moyes that contract if they so wished. He was here for another year and would have given them plenty of time to negotiate.
It is all lies and spin again. I think it proves the old saying you really can fool some of the people all of the time and they will keep coming back for more.

I generally enjoy this site, it has an air of ?quality? but I must confess that some of the comment is beginning to grate. Zabeel may or may not come in for us, but I would seriously doubt that Moyes deal will have anything to do with their decision one way or the other. For Alan Clarke to suggest they turned their attention to Charlton because of Moyes contract is patently untrue and further undermines the cause of those who want him removed. I know you?ve heard it many times, but most commentators and supporters of other clubs regard Moyes as one of the best in the Premier League (I?m not saying they?re right), so if anything you expect his new contract to enhance our value, not diminish it. I don?t want to stifle the debate, but can we try to keep some sort of perspective.

I have recently learned from a reliable source that a Qatari group have already done a deal with Everton FC; sale price of approximately £180M with overall investment being around £500M.

I guess the ground decision to DK will delay any announcements just yet.

The recent negotiations between DM & BK over DM’s contract have been significant evidence that major changes in the clubs future were pretty obvious. I am surprised this had more coverage.

Blimey James, way too positive, surely the protracted negotiations between BK and DM have had the effect of killing any potential interest. Save for Bill, the whole world knows how crap Moyes is since his new deal won?t touch us with a bargepole.

I was taking the piss, Marcus! I was firstly making a point that lumbering the club with a £17 million deal with a useless manger might deter investors. I was also taking the piss out of people like James Byrne who have it on good authority blah blah blah.

The fact is no one has any clue at all about what happens inside Goodison. This summer of ridiculous rumours and bullshit from our board has proved that.

Thanks Alan, I guess it’s a case of "watch this space", no matter how corny that sounds.

Within the next six weeks if not sooner the future of EFC is about to change dramatically; I will post back with some more details if I can get them.

Alan, you’re absolutely right;no one knows what is going on inside Goodison Park because Bill Kenwright dare not let us know.
The club is not for sale. Our chairman is an egotist who will never do what is good for the club if it means him losing control. His contract with David Moyes has sealed the fate of our club.£18 million onto the value of the club or else a manager who excites no one. What an option for a buyer.
