David Moyes has gone for a more attacking line up today......
Howard;
Neville,
Jagielka,
Yobo,
Lescott;
Arteta,
Fellaini,
Osman,
Pienaar;
Yakubu,
Saha
Anyone know any links to view the match?

Well lads I think a lot of people have got what they asked for. Its an attacking line-up. Whatever happens people will be critical. I think we might be going to have a go....
http://livefooty.doctor-serv.com/
has half a dozen links!
Fellani relise we are in the blue?
Top 4 side, it’s Arteta’ day off.
When was the last time Arteta didn't have an off day????
The Ref is shit..
None of the links are as good as last week.
Oh didn?t see that coming... at least we will have the ball for 5 seconds at the re-take
1 nil Utd, the first of many methinks.
Normal service is resumed... how depressingly inevitable.
Was just watching a live stream but it’s too depressing. Gonna settle down in front of the north-east derby.
P.S. I don’t know why we bother. I’m sure the 6 points are part of the regular transfers made between the clubs.
What a miserable load of bastards on here today! You seem determined to see us twatted!
We look shocking! Terrible! do we realise we are at home? When was the last time Howard saved or caught anything?SHITE SHITE SHITE
Men against boys springs to mind.
Fellaini is lazy, slow and worth about 15 pence not 15 million quid.
Posession-wise we must’ve had about 2 %!
Bert, even a small chink of light can help lift the mood but after an opening 2 mins of having a go the only time we’ve touched the ball apart from the retake is when we’ve flung ourselves in the way of another shot.
Only way this won’t be 3, 4 or 5 is if they take there foot of the gas.. to be fair they are very good, not sure is the game to judge us on
I can only hope but the thing that scares me is the boys are trying their best.
Fellani marking Fletcher for the goal was terrible.
Thank God for Howard so far
will watch till the bitter end though
Tactics seem to be based on playing it early-and high-to Fellaini.Don’t blame Moyes though-Mancs are just too good for us!
Feel bad for not being there - longest I’ve gone since I was an 8 year old without going.
This is a positive line-up today and we look ok going forward but the two lads in the middle are getting swamped.
Fellaini is really out of his depth. He looks like a cross between Milligan and Neil McDonald. Not good enough.
Watching the stream and we must get Pienaar on the ball more. He can unlock them. Fellaini lazy for their goal when he?d actually started okay. Osman is no holding midfielder - why is Castillo on the bench? We give the ball away too much but Alan Wiley is not having a good game either - shite as we are, it?s always tough against 12 men.
Pienaar is quality.
Lads - this team is only two away from our strongest. Cahill plus one. Personally I’d play Baines at right back at Yobo at right back.
Fellaini is not the answer though - we only paid 4m upfront thank God

Arteta keeps giving passes away
Lescott looks shit, his starting to show that he can’t perform at this level
Baines need to come in at leftback and Lescott of the filed.
Move Pienaar to a central position, next to Fallaini
Move Arteta to the right
So many dodgy free kicks for them around our box! And we’re attacking so Wiley blows for half time. As for Fellaini will get much much better, especially if he is playing with a confident team which we most certainly are not at the moment. I think Fellaini needs a quality holding midfielder alongside him and then he might start to look worth mega money. The Yak has lost all confidence at the moment but next goal vital - if we snatch it then we might have a real go.
When did Lescott swap his legs for a couple of 2x4s???
We need a Roy Keane type of player. We’ve got no real "ball-winner" in the team. So important. With Osman, Arteta, Pienaar we’re too lightweight. Therefore there’s too much pressure on the defence. They can’t handle it. Fellaini needs to improve quickly but he’s not a player who can get tackles in.

Lescott needs to come off.....period!
Pienaar and Howard are by far the best first half performers.
Lescott wasn’t really at fault for their goal - it was a good run not tracked by the sleeping midfielder Fellaini. He seems to have got the England disease of thinking he’s made it now. Fellaini is still off the pace but has shown flashes again against a very good midfield let’s not forget. My biggest concern is that we should be competing more - getting the tackles in - but Wiley is having a poor game. Vaughan and Castillo/Rodwell on and Yakubu and Osman off for me. Arteta needs to be made to get on the ball more as does Pienaar. But we’ll no doubt go long ball when we go 2 down and shove Fellaini up front.
I had a dream last night, my 3rd ever efc-related dream (previously i had correctly envisioned a 5-0 over norwich and 4-1 v spurs in the cup semi in 95.) anyway, last night’s had moysie bringing Dave Watson back in! But then he put him in midfield...
Fellaini has been no worse than any of the other players.
But that’s not saying much.
I’d bring Castillo on for Yak, go 4-5-1 and pray we nick an equalizer. As it stands what’s the point in having two up front when we can’t even get the ball out of our own half?
It’s literally like watching United vs United Reserves.
That’s Lescott who has the England disease by the way! Typing whilst flicking to the live stream makes me as disjointed as our midfield!
Looking forward to the 70th minute substitions.Who will he bring on and replace?
We’re going to need to score 3 to get anything out of this game.
Our 2-goals-a-game gift to the opposition is making us a bit of a joke at the moment. I think we need to put 2 defenders on the shopping list for january, and if we cant afford that, then we need to sell whoever we can to bolster the defence, as conceding 76 goals in the premiership equals relegation.

At this stage we can’t compete in the middle of the park. My best bet would be to move Pienaar to the midfield. He’s deffense splitting passes could open up chances for Saha and Yakubu. Fallaini needs some create help.
I really think Arteta needs to go to the right, bringing some fresh legs on the left.
Bring on Anichebe and go with three upfront. Replace Lescott with Baines
Jack Leonard, I’ll say Baines for one of our ’attackers’, or something equally as forward thinking!

i mean playing Pienaar in central midfield!
Totally agree with Chris Jones, is that Spike Milligan and Ronald Mcdonald? Thats what it looks like to me!
shit , hope moyes didnt see the goal or else we,ll certainly be after fletcher in the summer
No changes at half time so let’s hope Moyes has fired them up like he used to do...
Lescott is shocking today
This is getting boring but Fellaini has just outjumped two United defenders and because we looked dangerous Wiley blows for a free kick. I don’t like Moyes much at the moment because he has lost his passion but we are playing against 12 men.

Stefan,
Lescott has been shocking all season!
Why the fuck was that blown as a foul???
Willey is tit!
When we pass it we look pretty decent but we need to do it much more regularly. And that’s why we also need a midfield enforcer to win us the ball to be able to pass it more. At least there’s not been as much hoofing today.
Perfectly good tackle from Neville and he’s booked. What happened to respect by the way - United players surrounding Wiley to get Neville booked. It’s different rules and they wonder why there is a gap to the ’Sky 4’ for fuck’s sake.
That's what's wrong with football, the bitch rolled around like he was shot by a sniper.
God that was a fair tackle by Neville! fuck off rio!.. see the one Giggs got away with no yellow card in first half? Didn?t see us surrounding the ref then... at least they are showing some spirit now, come on boys
Get it Phil, thats what the spirit should be
Everton have been excellent second half - but we need 90 mins like that. Bit disappointed with front two though...
I take it all back - Get in Screech!!!
Yesssssssssss, come on!! stick that up your arse Rio
This is more like it, much better this half - COYB!!!!
Great cross, great header. Well done, Fellaini!!!
That’s Ferguson-esque. Hope we carry on going at ’em now. Damn those posts!
OH HELL YES, GET IN!! We are on top this half
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
That reminded me of Dunc against the Shite in 94
Much much better blues
Well amazingly its all blue at the moment!
So close for the Yak
Off the post can’t believe it!

Nice one Fergie. Teach that little shit a lesson.
Get Vaughnay on now to really fuck them up. But dangerous, silly free kick to negotiate first.
Fuckin’ cheating twat Wiley. You bottling cunt.

If anyone says Moyes has lost his passion, watch him barking orders at his players in todays game. His passion is there.
There you go - professional foul equals yellow card if you’re United. Nobody can tell me Wiley hasn’t been a shite biased twat today. And he was shite for us against Stoke too. Whatever happened to swings and roundabouts?
shitting myself. i’m sure we’ll lose.
Pat Nevin on Five Live says Fellaini has been easily or MoM - any opinions from people watching?
At last Vaughney - let’s make the diver pay for that miss Blues. About time we scored a late winner against a so-called big boy. And Trevor, I’m glad Moyes has rediscovered his passion because that’ll mean we have a decent manager again. £17m probably helps a bit!
I didn't see the first half but in the second, is Ossie playing the holding role or just popping up at the right moments cause he actually looks good there despite being tiny.
Inspirational tactics from DM? Surely not... :)
I didn’t expect that point...it’s only a point but get in!
Take confidence from this, and go and batter Fulham and march towards the top 6... We have to have some optimism after weeks of doom and gloom!!!
Full time. Encouraging performance i thought. We passed the ball pretty well and caused them problems. Hope we can carry on that level of performance now.
Fellaini motm. Great second half performance.
Fellaini was a different animal second half - must admit!
Well played Everton - passionate, pacy, agressive football - they passed it at the right times too!
I suspect they got a proper bollocking at half time as the first half was piss poor. 2nd half much better and we deserved a draw - plenty of guts and played some nice football in a fairly frenetic game.
Shame DM didnt bring Vaughany on a bit earlier but a draw is a great result, especially the form Utd are in - 6 wins out of 6 for them until today.
Onward & upward.
Proud of the 2nd half, we dominated Manchester Utd, not an easy task. That has to be a lift to the whole club.
Aren’t we away to Bolton in midweek before the Fulham match?
Great 2nd half performance
For me MoM is Phil Neville for his passion, commitment and the cross for the goal
Would have settled for a draw before that second half but why, oh why, did David Moyes leave it until too late to bring on Vaughan and Anichebe when Manchester United were on the back foot ?
I didn’t watch the game (had to put up with live text updates...argh!!) but despite all the negative comments above this has to be a well-earned point against one of the best, if not the best, team in the Prem.
Hopefully, this is the turning point for our season!
My only comment would be why sub players with only a few minutes to go (or was it just wasting time) ?
Either way, well done Moyes and Everton!!
Fallaini my man of the match, but a great all round performance from the whole team.
That puts us up to the heady heights of 14th too!
Jon, I agree. I watched the live feed too. The potential is definitely there. People have gotta remember he?s still only 20, doesnt speak any English etc.
Well done to the team, best they played this season and really showed spirit and got stuck into them and they didn’t like it ha!
Steven Astley, please explain why you think I’m a cock?
If we had lost 4-1, I would have been happy with the way we played. Some cracking on-the-deck football. Just don't revert to type, Moysie, trust in the team. I am wondering how the hell the jammy Mancs escaped with a point, the most pleasing aspect was the fire in the players' bellies seemed to be back. I wanted Screech off at half-time, lol, he had a cracking second half when he kept passing forwards and driving on. I think he will be class but we gotta have plenty of patience. COYB
I think Fellaini should be converted to a striker, he's a danager in the box. Not convinced about his all-round play but his goals against the barcodes and today show he's a real danger in there. But then again hoofball would increase no doubt!
Forgot we go to Bolton midweek - we need to be up for it there because that’s a must win game. I wonder how Moyes will fit Cahill back into the side? Probably for Ossie. And Baines should be a fixture at left back now regardless of his stature.
Utd’s opener was Fellaini’s fault as he let Fletcher go but in the second half he was our best man. Neville and Pienaar also played well in the second half. Don’t forget Howard made a couple of important saves in the first half. Yakubu unlucly to hit the post. I hope we can build on this for the coming weeks. Bolton and Fulham, two very important matches.
Quick to jump the gun about Fellaini - accusing him of lazy - when you most likely now consider him to be the MOTM. Our club needs LESS fans like yourself who are ready to jump down the players throats at the first slight mistake or impression they make (especially those that are new to the club and the country). He is 20 years old for fucks sake, learning a new language, a new culture and has most likely never even been outside of Belgium.
Do you actually play football? Do you understand the game and what its like to be on the pitch playing? Did you track Fellaini?s movement all throughout the Man U game? If you did, you will most likely find that he covered the most yardage on the pitch in a Blue shirt.
Well done boys! Just shows what can be done if you just go for it and not settle for the draw, hopefully Moyes has learnt something today, in the past he would have took a striker off and put a defender/midfielder on played for the 1-1 and capitulated.
I?m sure they?ll get much confidence from that, get on a roll, and get comfortably into the top half.
The weekend is salvaged!!!
Yes, Fellaini had some blame for Utd’s goal... But we are all human, we make mistakes. Is there a player out there that doesn’t?
Ronaldo - who will in the coming weeks be handed the Golden Ball award and FIFA Player of the year awards had a clear-cut chance in the 86th minute that he pulled to the left hand side...
Congratulations to the lads. Finally some passion out on the pitch and hopefully this can kick-start our season. (This is everton though so i?m not holding my breath.) Hopefully people will start getting off Fellaini?s back now. The lad was brilliant in the second half and seems to have the potential to be a truly class player for us. Remember though - he?s only 20; don?t expect him to perform every time. If given a little patience I believe that in seasons to come we can see his second half performance week-in, week-out. COYB
I’ve followed football for 30 years Steven - I played to a fairly decent standard for 6 or 7 years so in answer to your questions, yes I understand the game.
I have an opinion on Fellaini, and I do think he’s lazy at times, he appears to lack the pace required currently, and yes that may well be down to him not being settled here yet due to age, culture etc but is that really a reason for you to suddenly start with abuse like that? You and I support the same team you moron.
I’m entitled to my opinion on players as I see them and I do not think he was man of the match either.
Football is about opinions Steven and sadly yours is lost on me due to your childish name calling.
I didn?t see the first half but I found the flow of comments on this site completely amusing.
The whole team including Moysie needed to subbed and then sold... but then hang on... a goal by old 15 pencie and suddenly people want to pat backs again.
I know about passionate support but seriously some of you jokers need to put your fingers to work elsewhere (or maybe that was the problem) because the rubbish you typed based on one half against Manure was rediculous!
Kerry, you didn?t see the first half... so shut the fuck up. Everton were pretty poor and the game looked like going the same way as the derby.
Credit to the team for pulling it half-way around in the second half, but there were very few signs this was going to happen in the first half, when those Evertonians were making pretty accurate comments.
It?s called being wise after the event. And it?s not clever.
Marvellous second half performance, If we play like that every game we’ll have no worries. Neville was superb, I think this was the game he got MU out of his system - he seemed to realise what cheating, diving scumbags his erstwhile teammates actually are.
My Friend, I was not being wise nor trying to be clever.
I was expressing my exasperation at "Supporters" who don’t.
My belief is that a supporter doesn’t pour that load of hogwash onto a team and then turn around and say "Gee, we did well didn’t we"
A supporter backs the team through and through.
None of those Evertonians are any less or more frustrated than me at the way things have been travelling. I am in Australia, surrounded by Manure or RedShite fans mainly because they only sell their shirts over here.
We particularly should not take our frustrations out on other supporters.
Log onto a ’Pool site and dish it out on them on their forums if you need to vent.
Blue Heart Forever here mate!
Steven Astley - Fellaini WAS lazy for their goal because he didn’t track back. I don’t see a problem calling him on it nor holding my hands up when he made up for it second half. All the players needed to up their game and did. Now they need to maintain that level of performance for 94 minutes every game.
My Friend, I was not being wise nor trying to be clever.
I was expressing my exasperation at "Supporters" who don’t.

Well said Steven Astley. Fellaini was immense in the second half. So called supporters like James Marshall are a fucking disgrace.
"We particularly should not take our frustrations out on other supporters." What a fucking hypocrite! That is exactly what you are doing writing shite like that. We are all supporters, so don’t come on here and try to make out that your brand of support is somehow better than anyone else’s ? and try to at least make the fucking effort to actually watch the whole game next time before you do come on here slagging off other fans.
Are you trying to tell me you never accuse any of our players of being shit/playing badly at any point ever during a game Dave? No, thought not.
Football is a fickle game by nature, so grow up with the abuse eh.
James, the only reason you won’t admit that Fellaini wasn’t our Man of the Match along with Tim Howard is because of your ridiculous, embarrasing outburst after 27 minutes of today’s game.
"Fellaini is lazy, slow and worth about 15 pence not 15 million quid."
That’s not the sort of quote that a 35 + year old bloke comes out with. The fact that you are so old and ’mature’ and have followed Everton ’for 30 years’ should teach you a lesson to keep your trap shut until after the game - as after all - a game of football is played over 90 minutes... not 27.
We’re lucky that we don’t have anyone like you involved at the club ( or at least I hope we don’t ) as you’d be throwing your toys out of the pram as soon as the first chance arose.
Quite frankly, you’re made an embarrasing outburst prematurely and are to stubborn to admit it - go and take the wife shopping or something and fuck off!
Great result today and a well earned point against a very in form United.
Fellaini is starting to make his mark now on the Premier League; does anyone else think he should get his hair style sorted out before he ends up on all the back sports pages on a hopefully regular basis; after all it is fucking awful.
Okay, calm down the lot of you, at each other’s throats. Comment on the game by all means, but please accept Steve, that people are going to have different opinions about players ? there is no need for any name-calling.
As for your comments, Kerry Frahm, they are totally uncalled for and you are showing yourself up to be a bit of an arse. The thread is here for Evertonians to comment on the game as they see it. Please show some respect for that if you wish to use this facility.
Steven, I’m not at all embarrassed by what I said - if you actually watched the game you’d see that at that time I was right - he looked out of his depth whether you like it or not. You may not agree with me but again, does that give you the right to get personal and start abusing me/making remarks about my personal life?
I wonder about people like you, who clearly show themsevles to have nothing better to do than lay into other people - are you unhappy Steven? Do you need someone to talk to to make yourself feel better about your petty little life? Well I persume so, as normal, balanced individuals tend not to attack people as you do - they lean more towards balanced debate which is clearly a skill you’re yet to develop.
And before you say that my comments were not reasoned or balanced about Fellaini, I would counter that by saying that in the heat of a football match involving Everton, opinions do indeed spill out and may appaer to sound unreasonable. Just to reitterate, Fellaini was out of his depth in the first half.
I put it to you that without abusing comments, you actually have very little to say.
Oh, and the wife is already out shopping but thanks for the advice with what to do with my spare time.
Paul, Fair call on the hypocracy I suppose, my exasperated comments were harsh to Evertonians, but how much game I am able to watch is completely irrelevant to my earlier comments.
My hypocracy is also no less than that of many on here who turned their first half calls into second half pats on the backs and that, my fellow Evertonian and therefore my friend, is my main frustration. Back the team all the way because it’s Our Team!
Great game... Thoroughly deserved draw... In LA,and got up at 4 to see it on a weekend (my fiancee was almost pulling out her hair ;))... And what I saw was well worth the effort...
Insipid first half (not poor, cause United were just too good) we gave them too much time on the ball.. And HOWARD was magnificent, it could have been 4-0 (just imagining Tony here if that had happened).. But I digress.. Great second half, we harried them, played with real quality.. Finally Arteta played well with some stunning touches and good set-pieces.. Pienaar is probably the most under-rated tricky player in EPL, he was wonderful.. As for Felliani, he is starting to show that he is a good buy, though in the Ballack mold not Makelele mold.. Finally a round of applause for Jagielka, he had some crucial interventions, so all in all a game I was very happy to see... Best part was we went for the jugular after the goal, quite unlike DM, but yes he showed aggression!!! Mr Marsh, Kenrick and others, maybe he is not that dour.. Just something to think..
Negatives? First half, too much time on the ball for ManU, IMHO DM should have brought Vaughan a little earlier.. but thats nitpicky...
All arguments aside, which are quite amusing if you are sitting in work and its raining type way.
I think a special mention for phil neville today, I have never been his biggest fan nor do I hate him, but today I felt he showed the heart and grit that he often talks about on the official site. A great result today and one to move us forward. Piennar really does make a difference to our whole outlook as well. Well done boys more of that please.
Michael,
I respect your call there although not entirely in agreeance.
I do not feel my comments were any less respectful than those returned to me or some others posted.
Matchwise - Having seen the second half, my outlook for the rest of the season, if we can maintain performances like that, get Timmy back in the middle (who will miss out though?) and stay clear of Alan Wiley is extremely positive.
We have been calling for more mongrel and I thought Jags showed a fair bit.
James, ok, I won’t embarrass you anymore by pointing out the fact that at half past 12 today, you took the liberty of logging onto this website and posting a childish message laying into one of our players who are trying to find their feet at a new club.
The fact that you want to label him with the £15 million tag is nothing to do with the player, apart from increase the added pressure already on his young shoulders - he hasn’t asked to go for that amount - and quite frankly - I don’t believe he is worth it ( he was a £6 million rated player ) - we suffered in buying at the very last minute at massively inflated prices - in addition to signing him on a 5 year contact.
You might want to reiterate again, but correctly, that most of our players.. if not all looked out of their depth in MOST of the first half.
You go and have your opinions James.
Steven, have a great weekend and thankyou again for your valued comments.
I live in Oz and was back in England in Dec 2000. Wangled a ticket for the away section at Maine Road: 0-5 and I hadn?t seen the Blues for 13 years. Most of our section left and deep in the 2nd half a bloke in front of me started crying and his mate said to him, "Don?t worry, it?s being here for games likes this that means we?ll enjoy it more when we?re back up there." Hope those 2 are having a good laugh today and all the doomsayers are pulling their heads in.
We?re not back up there, everything ain't perfect and Moyes isn?t a genius but the blue shirts out on the field are still EVERTON and all this negative crap and booing our shirt off when things don?t go our way (ie Blackburn) is playing into our enemies? (Big 3, Redshite, Premier League, Sky) hands.
Sometimes life isn?t all about being on top and the most important thing is keeping your shit together in the bad times. Then when things turn around you can take advantage. It?s a long march...
And let?s keep the pressure on Rooney. He?s never had a good game at GP since Dalglish and the crooks helped negotiate his transfer. His play and carry on today was that of a boy who is intimidated.
Enjoy blues
Kerry, I?m a supporter and I support the team. But I may not do it the same way as you. What I don?t understand is why you have to come on here slagging off other fans who were actually following the game ? when you weren?t by your own admission. And how much of the game you actually watched is entirely the point here. We’re talking about reactions to the first half, which were perfectly valid based on what those supporters were seeing. How other supporters support their team is completely up to them. It has nothing to do with you. Why do you have to tell them how they should or shouldn?t support Our Team?
For all the comments about Felliani the one thing that stood out for me today was when after scoring he kissed the Everton badge as if it meant a lot to him.
That should count a lot to Blues supporters.
Paul,
Please read through all of the comments. There were a lot of harsher comments made to other individual supporters than my original post.
In respect to Michael I will only make comments on the games in future.
I am hoping to come over to a game mid next season (2009-10). If you are there, I would like to buy you a beer to show I am not the prick you think I am. Just passionate as I know you are.
I think I preferred it when you were all fighting...
:)
Just a quick one to say fair play to Fergie for hauling Rooney off after he began to antagonise the park end! He has gone up in my estimations for that. By all account Fellaini played well today, hopefully this is the start of things for him! Well in blue boys, well played! good to see some fight back in the team.
Fair to Moyes, he went with a positive team and had a go. That?s all we want to see from him and the players.
Excellent game too watch, great atmosphere as well. It was a team performance really, I couldn?t really pick anyone out.
Pienaar ran his heart out today, he linked well with the impressive Neville. Arteta got involved for once and the movement upfront was good.
Jagielka was excellent as well, Howard looked a lot more confident.
The above posts show what?s wrong with our support.
And that, John Gee, shows what's wrong with your contribution. The policy of this website is that individual Evertonians are free to support Everton in any way they see fit, and that criticism of that support by others will not be tolerated. The rest of your message has been deleted. ? The Editor

Fellaini was shite first half, very good the 2nd
As I've already posted, his goal was like Duncs?s against the shite in 94
Don't make out that TM is a Red, he has his opinions and he can post them like you and me.
None of us love the Red Shite. NEVER say we love em.
Half my family support them, but me, my wife and my son don't.
Don't say blues are reds, its a sin mate.
Mustn?t get carried too away as I am in grave danger of being banned but I thought we played rather well today - particularly in the second half. Speaking very personally, I detect the merest glimmer of a revival and if the chaps can begin to turn it on in both halves a reasonably successful season can be anticipated.
I was also there and Fellaini was class, I honestly believe he could be the dominating central midfielder we have been missing if he can keep it up! I was a bit worried when I heard it was him and Ossie in the centre but the two worked well together, Osman also played well! Not sure whether Cahill will walk straight back in against Bolton, not one of the players today should be dropped for wednesday, excellent performance and unlucky not to get all 3 points, but I suppose thats why Man U are the champs.
Mike Mulhall, I had the same thought on Fergie when he took Rooney off, but he showed his true colours again.
Just heard an interview with Fergie saying he saw nothing wrong with Rooney’s behaviour and only took him off because he thought the Everton crowd would abuse the ref into sending him off. He also said that the ref failed to protect his players.
Two players who have got stick.. Neville and Fellaini were great today!
Neville?s commitment and passion for us today was brilliant, especially against Utd as well, his foul on Ronaldo ignited the atmosphere at Goodison.
Fellaini had an ok-ish performance in the first half, but in the second, he was unbelievable! Great signs and glimpses of a £15 million pound player and again... against quality opponents like Utd.
This could be a start of some form for Everton, and Cahill for Osman, Baines for Yobo or Lescott against Bolton, and it SHOULD be 3 points on Wednesday!
Osman and Fellaini where pressing in the second half, they sat far too deep in the first half and gave Giggs especially a lot of freedom to boss the game and he did boss it.
In the second half they battled and got in there faces. Osman covers every blade of grass and Fellaini?s game is all about being awkward, the lad's of nuisance.
I noticed we squeezed the game and played a higher defensive line which is what we should do more often. We have pace at the back, enough to cope Rooney and Berbatov anyway.
Pienaar especially impressed me, I?ve never seen someone run as much as him. He really does cover every blade of grass and he?s so intelligent. Man of the Match for me.
Great day, good football and a very, very hard-working blue side.
Tremendous atmosphere throughout on the stadium. The fat kid was well and truly lost :-) Even had to get pulled off to avoid him disgracing himself any further. Loved it!
Fellaini, superb second half. Howard, top-class!
Neville, one of his best games to date. Pienaar, little gem!
I?ll just enjoy myself tonight, only shame the Yak could only hit the post.
This result’s screwed my Fantasy Football :-P But much better from the Toffees! I think our season’s starts here!!! COYB
James Marshall... http://www.evertonfc.com/evertoninteractive/the-blue-vote.html?poll_id=521
Nice to see your opinions are in the minority... Fellaini, man of the match.
Don't mean to be a smart arse, Troy, coz I kind of agree with you that people were judging ?Screech? too early but now you're doing the same by saying hes' come good after 1 good performance.
I won't make any judgement untill at the very earliest Christmas.
At the end of the first half I thought we were going to well and truly shafted. Lets be honest - we were really awful
Then a completely different team comes on for the second half. We might even have nicked it. As it is, the most crucial point is that the lads have now got back what has been lacking for the whole season ? CONFIDENCE!! As for Osman ? sorry, I was not impressed. Cahill on instead of him ? other than that Moyes FFS keep with 4-4-2 keep it on the deck and we will do OK.
Makes me laugh, the Felliani bashers for the 1st half, even then he was one of our best performers out of a bad bunch, actually had an arguement at the ground at half time about him. For fucks sake hes a 20-year-old lad, can't speak the language, thrown into a team who are playing terrible, is it his fault that Everton paid £15 mil for him? No it ended up a panic buy and Liege could name there price. Just glad he proved all the bashers wrong, give him a chance and he could be great, and any central mid would struggle with Osman next to you, we all know he needs an a younger Carsely next to him. Let's keep our fingers crossed come Jan (doubt it tho), If any one's to blame it's Moyes throwing him in at the deep end, imagine Wenger doing that. Just support the young lad, and wait and see. Anyway was a great great second half. COYB!
Just back from the game, and the big thing for me today was we went for it. None of this cautious 4-5-1 shite.
After a poor first half, we came out the 2nd a different side. Credit to Moyes today, for sending the lads out with the have-a-go attitude. Thought Yobo and Jags were solid, Arteta, after his usual missing in action 1st half, had a better 2nd. Felliani (I think some of you are going a bit OTT over his performance today) had a very good game, even Neville put a shift in today, maybe he has realised that he doesn?t play for the Mancs anymore?
Overall a great 2nd half performance. For me, though, a great 2nd half, and a point against a top side, doesn?t hide the fact that we have been piss poor this season, and will count for nothing, if we then go and get nothing at Bolton.
Dunno what Moyesy said to them at half time, but after a pathetic first half we played like we meant it in the second. Great atmosphere in the Gwladys too.
About the Fellaini fee.... my mate (I know, I know) was chatting with Sharpey in the airport a couple of weeks ago; Sharpey reckoned that the fee is actually £7.5m but the club have bumped it up in the media to appease the fans?! Think it?d be a bit unfair to put the pressure of the fee on the lad meself, but that?s what I?ve been told.
Steve, that just doesn?t make sense, Doulbling the lads transfer fee just to apease the fans.
He had a very good game today, but he (and I know it is still early days) doesn?t look anywhere a £15m player, he doesn?t even look like a £7.5m player yet. If it had come out that we only paid £7.5m, then I don?t think he would have had so much stick. If the club did do it, then they are more of a fuck up, than I already knew.
Steven Astley - being in the minority doesn't make a person right or wrong, its just an opinion mate. I actually voted in that poll, and I voted for Tim Howard without whom, if he hadn't made a number of class saves, we?d have lost the game by about 3 goals.
If you prefer to live your life as ?one of the crowd? then that's fine and I don't knock you for it, but in life those people that are different are invariably the ones who are remembered for making a difference.
I have nothing further to add to this pointless debate brought about by your antics.
