And if we lose on Sunday?

By John Brennan :  18/09/2009 :  Comments (0) :
Last night's victory was very refreshing, and no Evertonian could possibly complain about our performance, or the result — so, therefore, onwards and upwards eh???

OK, well I think even though AEK may not be in the same league as us, Blackburn should also be easily beaten by us. If we have any self confidence, belief, or determination to beat the teams around us, then, surely, we should be comprehensively defeating Blackburn.

I couldn't see Rovers playing the way we played last night, and pound for pound, we should beat them almost every time we square up to each other. I will be up-front and say that I have no idea which players Sam has brought in, but, to be honest, if we can't beat his lot, we don't deserve to finish around the top six or so.

Personally, despite last night's result, I will be very annoyed if we fail to win on Sunday. There wont be too many games in which we will be at home to the likes of Blackburn, and if there are any Everton fans out there who will be timidly looking for a 1-0 or a draw, forget it!!!

We really now need to be demanding more, especially from some players who are being paid (I say that rather than "earning") £30000 per week plus!!! Yes, of course I am delighted with last night, and the lads deserve the utmost praise for a top performance, but the drive, the determination, the impetus, and the engine of opportunity must be kick started and pumped into life for the forthcoming matches.

If by any chance we find ourselves 1-0 down at half time, don't lets have a repeat of last Sunday where we should have had Churchill and instead got Ian Duncan Smith (to quote Mr Southgate).

I won't be so bold or "clever" as to pick the team, but:

The trees are coming into leaf
Like something almost being said
The recent buds relax and spread
Their greeness is a kind of grief???

God, I hope not, COYB, and hammer Big Sams boys for all of us blues.

Team: Howard, Heitinga, Yobo, Distin, Baines, Pienaar, Fellaini Cahill, Bilyaletdinov (if fit), Saha, Jo (used properly at last).

Jo must play either with the Yak or Saha before we pass judgement on him, I do not accept he is crap, and this is nothing to do with the fact he scored last night. He needs support up front.

Subs, well, you can decide amongst yourselves!!! I have already chosen the team for the Toffees next win!!!

Sorry, forgot to add Rodwell, but he perhaps needs a break now, and besides, why risk him against Sams cloggers??!!
