Ladies do the Blues Proud

How did the powers that be at ToffeeWeb Towers miss this?

The Toffee Ladies are apparently 1 step away from qualifying for the group stages of the Uefa Ladies Champions League?

Well done, girls!

Personally, I have no interest in the Ladies team... but I presume some Evertonians do... at least more so than this passing "glory-hunter"-style adulation that on rare occasions like this accompanies their successes.

Sorry to be a sour-puss about this but we have been advertising on the appropriate page for a budding Ladies reporter to step forward and send us regular, consistent updates regarding the Ladies that would enable us to carry up-to-date pages for their league, cup and European campaigns...

Nada.

So, sorry but — until someone shows that level of interest... it's Nada from this end too.

As you said Michael ... sourpuss! I’m very pleased with their result the other night and I’m very pleased with their overall achievements as a team.

If you’re not bothered Michael (that’s fine) but that doesn’t mean people can’t post about it ... just like they post about anything and everything else related to Everton ... be it the men, the youngsters, the board, the ground, transfers, etc.

For the last two seasons, I have been keeping an eye on the Ladies results, as we are the only team to come near to stopping the Arsenal Ladies ever supreme reign.

We were unlucky last season, losing the league on the last day but being the first team to beat them in two years.

Also, anything to do with Rachel Unitt is a winner by me... hubba hubba.

Michael, first paragraph of your response is nasty and a bit crass. Your second paragraph suggests more than a passing interest in the ladies team (maybe a ToffeeWeb editorial position rather than a personal one of yours). Final paragraph reinforces the second paragraph yet suggests you don't care until a Ladies team follower cares as much to report. Odd.

So no-one has taken up the offer to report to you on a team you openly disregard?

What could possibly be putting them off?

Just contact the team mate and make an effort.

Our club is our club and we should support all of it.

My missus reckons the Premier League will change to a women’s league and we will be asking her and her mates for a page soon.

Having been to pub for a quick one at lunchtime and just got home, who am I to disagree?

It’s primarily a question of resources; if we had more, then we could provide coverage of the Ladies team. Not half-assed stuff now and again, just when they look to be pretty good, but full coverage that includes details of ALL their games played. That means full team sheets, subs, goalscorers, cards, match summaries, stats... Even player profiles.

Most of it is probably on the official website anyway for those who are interested... which I feel sure is precious few. Unless I’m wrong of course...

Come on somebody: prove me wrong. Prove there’s someone out there who wants to collect and post the above info for us on a regular continuous basis. Take ownership. This is your opportunity.

To be honest, Michael, it is just as bad on the official site. On Everton TV it has a profile of all of the first team male players, even Agard, but it has two on the women's: the goalie, Brown and someone else.

(Tongue in cheek!) For those who are interested, the Everton Ladies managed to win their final group game against Strommen of Norway 1-0 with a goal in injury time by Michelle Hinnigan. This qualifies them for the last 32 K-O round which is played over 2-legs. The draw is on the 14th August.

Not too bad, 4-1, 7-0 & 1-0. That’ll do for a start
