Proud to be a Blue

I always knew that the Toffees were a special team to support. Just how special, hit home when I read this article in today's BBC and later confirmed by other articles. "Unsettled Lescott cheered by fans" http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/teams/e/everton/8190966.stm.
Just reading the article made my chest fill up with pride. Now, I don't know if Lescott will still be with us come end-August, but if he does, a large part of the credit should go to the fans.
If he does leave, good luck to him, but surely he will look back fondly at his time here, and know that there are no better fans in the world of football.
To all the ToffeeWebbers who were at the match yesterday, well done and take a bow !

Just read yet another quote off that craggy faced boring bastard Hughes. This one really takes the biscuit:
"We have to make a decision on any player we are pursuing. If we feel a certain deal has run its course, we will look elsewhere. Whether we have reached that stage with Joleon only time will tell. Obviously we can do deals right to the end of the transfer window. However, we would prefer to do our business as quickly as possible, ideally by the end of this week."
Is this guy for real? These are quotes attributed to him on the Sky Sports News website under the headline "HUGHES WARNS OVER LESCOTT".
Fucking scandalous considering Moyes has AGAIN categorically stated that Lescott is NOT FOR SALE. I can’t wait until Hughes gets the sack, the charmless arrogant prick.
Good show of support last night. It was indeed a night when us blues showed what having a bit of class is all about.

I was in London today and was talking to another blue about footy and how proud we both were about reading that on the BBC and on the Guardian website (which seemed word for word the same article...) and a Arsenal fan butted in to our conversation to tell us how nice it was to hear fans cheering to keep a player & lots of respect to "real good fans" of "a real football team". We were well chuffed.
Reading stuff about that and having rival fans see and notice that makes you damn proud to be a blue. I really hope he does stay.

Watching the Malaga game (albeit on the web) I was pleased to see many of our supporters in the Gladwys St end applauding that magnificent Malaga goal. Again, class.

Lionel, read the same article about Hughes. Is the man a complete moron or has he lost the run of himself? Surely there must be some rule prohibiting a rival manager or club openly pursuing a player who is contracted to another club? Especially where 2 previous bids have been rejected and where they have told that the player is not for sale. If there is a rule, Everton should now report both Hughes and Shity to the relevant authorities and put the matter to rest.
Well done to the crowd on Friday night for supporting Lescott. I hope that when Shity visit us in January the fans will let Hughes know what we think of him, if he still has a job.

I couldn’t agree more, it shows a bit of class. Also, as Stephen mentioned, the appreciation for that classy free kick on Friday night just highlighted the respect for the game most Evertonians possess.
Next week I’ll be cheering our boys on from Lower Gwladys but will also aplaud the return to competitive footy by Eduardo. I’m sure I won’t be the only one.

I was at the match on Friday but Lescott got no cheers from me. I would be impressed if he comes out like John Terry and publicly sates he wants to stay. After the game on Friday was the perfect time to repay the fans for their support yet he remained quiet. No word from JL sends a clear message he wants out... and now.
