I know it's only speculation, but WTF another slow one dimension miget midfielder? Is this how we are going to progress? I want answers — it's pure bollocks again this summer. Record turnover, record kit deals, record season ticket sales... Where's the money? Where's the progress?
From a truley unhappy blue:(

What would O’Neil offer that Osman doesn’t? They’re 2 similar players and I think the majority agree Ossie should only be a squad player.
We need pace FFS. The teams we are going to be competing with all have it.
Spurs-Lennon.
Villa- Young, Agbonlahor.
Man City- SWP, Adebayor,
I don’t think any Blue who knows their football would be happy with him

ToffeeWeb Punter "Moan, moan, moan - we haven’t got any players to fill troublesome right back/right wing/centre mid/striker position*"
----Sky Sports News links Everton with player players to fill troublesome right back/right wing/centre mid/striker* position-----
ToffeeWeb Punter "Don’t want him, I want him...the one at City/United/Rovers. Yeah, you know the one earning more money than ANY of the current Everton squad"

I would prefer one of the young lads to be given a chance before spending the £3-5million it would cost for Gary O’Neill. He wouldn’t improve our first team and would take a chunk out of our paltry budget!

Well Moyes did warn us all he was DEMENTING!!!

I liked the look of both Baxter and Wallace from their brief appearances at Coventry last weekend.
However, the most important thing is that the squad is larger. I’m not advocating that the side is filled with any old tat - we’re not Tottenham for fucks sake; more that the regulars on here are a little more open minded about some of the players we are linked with.
Senderos for example is a prime example of the negativity seething through this site. He is and I imagine will continue to be a proper defender. True, he can’t beat his man or hit glorious Beckenbaueresque balls from the back - and get this, he might be a little slow.
All threee of these traits were, are and will be levelled at both Jagielka and Lescott. Both of these guys were not the stellar signings so many of my fellow Toffees clamoured for - but would you want rid of either of them now that Moyes has worked with them for 2/3 years?
I’ll not raise arguments against any of the other players we’ve been linked with, because until it’s on the OS or the BBC Sport site it certainly isn’t anything but rumour or speculation. However, I hope you can see my point; no matter how long winded.
In the words of the Beatles....Give Moyes a chance

Underated at Arsenal because he couldn’t play the Eboue game.. no centre half should be even trying to take on half the world!
Could be an absolute steal...

I said on another thread about Senderos being good cover. My opinion was/is that Arsenal play a high back line because they have pace Gallas/sagna/clichy/gibbs/djourou/eboue but Senderos isn’t blessed with their pace and has been caught out due to this system. He is young and experienced and Moyes gets the best out of defenders. I wouldn’t mind him joining as cover. If he gets anywhere near Jags level we would all be happy.
But O’neill, no. At right back I’d play Neville, hibbo, coleman before him. At right mid I’d play Arteta/Pienaar/Osman/Gosling/Baxter before him.
In the middle he wouldn’t get in before cahill, neville, rodwell, fellaini, osman, wallace.
So why sign him for a couple of million when it could go towards somebody who can improve what we have got?
Hopefully it’s just another day and another rumour.

He is in the mould of Graham Stuart, nothing spectacular but very, very consistant and dependable.
Providing the money is right then I think this would be a useful addition to an already threadbare squad, especially on the right side.

Like most people on here I am gutted we haven’t fully strengthened, but I’m sure we have pursued some quality, but that now the banks aren’t lending, we are struggling to compete for top quality players. Forget the unemployment figures, when the credit crunch affects Everton’s progress the world needs to take a stand...Brown, Obama...get your sodding act together. I’m sure blue Bill has a few ideas...then again, no!!

You’ve answered your own question there....wages. He’ll be earning more at Boro than we can pay him AND will be looking for more to justify his Mr 10%’s existence.
Fuck me I hate footballers.
