More proof not that it was needed that Osman at right midfield needs replacing this week. Weak brushed off the ball and offering no outlet on the right. Hibbert too is being got at again. Lets hope Moyes gets the 4 or 5 we so desperatley need this week

Moyes out. He is far to cooperative with Kenwright in terms of lyeing to fans to drive up season ticket sales whilst serving up the same crap each week. Banega ? a lie. "WoW" a lie.
Senderos ? lie. 4 new signings ? Lie. Watch this space ? lie. Won’t sell lescott ? Lie. Will use Lescott money to reinforce before window closes ? Lie. This is like the late 1970’s early 80’s again with Moyes as Gordon Lee and Cahill as Andy King and the empty trophy cabinet as itself ? true.

Jonathan Bradley
Posted 23/08/2009 at 15:28:36
Kieran,
i) going to the lengths of getting a work permit for Banega suggests he was of the opinion that we would sign him;
ii) Senderos was an option and was confirmed by Wenger, but someone offered £5 million for him. He is not a £5 million player and so we have not paid it;
iii) Lescott’s own antics have guaranteed his sale, and Moyes reluctance to sell him have moved the fee up from £18 million to £24-25 million. How many people on this forum have been saying to get rid?
iv) unless I am much mistaken, the Lee era did not see five clubs have vastly more resources than the rest, and four or five clubs have considerably more resources than us.

We are playing shite and getting what we deserve. Sigma papered over the cracks that were clear to everybody. Lets see if BK & Moyes get their fingers out and sign the players we desperatley need. Dont hold your breathe though. On the basis of what we have seen in 2 and a half games its going to be a long hard season. both our main rivals Spurs And city who strengthened significantly over the summer have 100% records and we are already playing catch up. Some people beleive because we did it last year when these 2 sides were rubbish we will do it again. I think 7th would be an achievment based on the seaosn so far.
Simon Kirwan
Posted 23/08/2009 at 15:37:26
I cudnt giva fuk about lescott, banega or billy bull. What annoys me to fuk is the fact that useless waste of space fellaini has given the ball away 31 times and we have gosling on the bench who would give us so much more.. then we can put osman and cahill back to the right positions. Moyes so fukin stupid

Why has every team in the whole league got faster players than us?!
Kieran Kinsella
Posted 23/08/2009 at 15:42:44
Cahill is like David Platt. He could never pass, dribble or tackle and didn’t score quite enough golas to be a striker but did score enough to merit a spot in the team. Like Platt as he gets older the golas get fewer and before long he’ll need to retire and become Sampdoria coach or something because without consistent scoring he offers nothing to the team. Fellaini on the other hand isn’t like anyone I can think of because no one so crap has made as much money and got as much playing time at this level before. We have one good player out there and he is a 31 year old injury prone striker.
Ajay Timothy

Very disappointing. Cant even see any positives. We seriously need some new faces in. Our confidence looks shot. Well done Sparky and Lescott. You’ve blown a big fucking hole in out team spirit. No player looks remotely passionate out there. There is no fight, or desire.
I think it cannot do any harm to put some of the kids on in the second half. They will show some willingness to run, it might shame some of the others into making more effort. Got to agree with Kieran, Cahill looks shite. At least Fellaini is participating in the game...
Simon Kirwan

Ryan Holdroyd
3x manager of the year mean you cant make bad decisions?
We play our most effective player out of position ( Happens to be our most dangerous attackin player and we are again chasing the game ) Has Osman out wide where he is useless. Has what can at best be described as the burden Fellaini giving the ball away every 2 minutes with Gosling, an attacking, energetic winger on the bench ( Who happened to instigate our only goal v Arsenal )
I like Moyes, especially his excellent signing but he knows fuk all about tactics and substitutions
Stan Sheppard
Posted 23/08/2009 at 15:54:03
Fellaini hasn’t done much right. We don’t have much on the bench but as previous posts have mentioned surely Gosling couldn’t do any worse which would also allow us to push Cahill further forward.

Take Fellaini off are you mad? he’s one of the few who looks like he’s trying. I’ve a much better idea get Cahill in behind Saha and replace Osman who’s done sod all, with Gosling who just might look as though he’s interested.
Fran Mitchell
Posted 23/08/2009 at 15:55:28
The midfield is very very poor.
While Rodders has great composure he isn’t dominating enough. We need someone to hassle and dominate the midfield.
Cahill is just not good enough for a central midfielder. While I know many people will not hear a bad word about him, he lacks strength, pace and technique to dominate as a central midfielder. He should play just off the striker, as he has great timing and a knack of being in the right place. BUT I dont think he should be a definate starter. Other players who play in his ideal position, like Lampard, Gerrard have far more to their game than passion and a knack of getting a goal or 2.
This is where the game is being lost, while we cant do anything about Rodders in this game (we need to buy someone) we can about Cahill.
Either take him off, bring on Gosling and stick Ossie in the middle. But we would still be weak.
take him off, bring on Jo and stick Fellaini in the middle and revert to 4-4-2.
Take off Fellaini, stick Cahill behind Saha and bring on Gosling with Ossie in the middle.
I would personally like to see Jo on and Fellaini in the middle. Maybe bring on Gosling too.
however, I dont expect any changes at half time.

It’s fascinating watching Osman & Saha pick up the ball infield, looking to move it out to the wing, then realising that Hibbert’s on the overlap. You can almost see them thinking “What’s the fucking point?”, then turning around & running back towards the middle of the park .
Iain Smith
Posted 23/08/2009 at 16:32:08

I agree Anthony. The midweek scoreline wasn’t representative of how we played. In truth we look horrible this season and unless we sign 7 or 8 new top class players, we will go down.
And before anyone says ’kneejerk’ to me, its not the results that got me going, like i say, its the lack of talent we have. Rodwell looks ok. Peanuts and Baines are good. Saha is good but old and Howard can be decent.
We need to offload Cahill, Felli, Ossie, Hibbo, Jo, Nev and rebuild. Sadly, it looks like we will have to do this from the championship.

Here’s another issue we have. We’re upset with mercenary Lescott for leaving but even IF BK lets Moyes use some of that money to replace him what kind of player are the bottom team in the prem going to attract other than another mercenary ?

According to the BBC "Everton have never lost their opening two matches of a Premier League season". Another record broken for Moyes then....

Only one i can think of is Niko Krancjar. He’s already at a turd team so might just fancy a change.

We’ve been shite for a while Viv, glad someone agrees. I thinking getting to fifth in last couple of seasons has been more about the shortcomings of other sides. That won’t be the case this season - We are 9 points behind Spurs
Cahill played in central midfield - why?
Fellaini - £15 mill worth of garbage
Persistence with Osman & Hibbert
Vaughan regularly doesn’t get a sniff
Shite Shite & Utter Shite

Is anyone REALLY surprised after all of the recent BS?!? >Set your expectations lower for the next few weeks (and be realistic!) and let the anger subside!
Expectation =/= Ambition!
Once things settle down we’ll be OK. No point getting worked up over something that, ultimately, cannot be controlled by anyone other that Moysey, etc. COYB!

Richard Parker, you should be ashamed at yourself calling fellow blues with different opinions than you, "fucking women", and telling them to "fuck off and support man city".
You need to have a word with yourself.

People need to be careful about assuming this is part of a pattern, in which woeful early form is replaced by better form after a few matches. At the moment, we’re the worst PL club. Unless Moyes can do something urgently to address that problem, which means concentrating on the team, not Lescott, or all that’s not perfect in his little personal world, we’ll be dodging relegation.

Absolutely, Jeremy. Richard Parker, you’re banned. I will not tolerate fans insulting fellow Evertonians because the team is not performing. That is truly pathetic.

Tim Howard - Okay one class save. must be embarassed with what he sees in front of him though!
Tony Hibbert - Thought he had a better game compared to a lot of players. His speed let him make up for a lot of mistakes, though he’s still shocking and we should sell him. against anyone decent i.e. top 4 they’ll play with him. What a run for the pen dive though. like a train.
Leighton Baines - Thought Bainsey was ok today, though old Hoofball was a bit boring. wish they’d just pass along the floor. More crossing and free kicks! He just looks unsure and unconfident.
Neville - Isnt a centre back
Yobo - Is less of a centre back than Neville. I think his speed makes up for his mistakes. I thought he was awful today. Every single time it was cleared in the air. he looked anxious, he took the wrong amount of touches, seemed to be in the wrong position, just generally had a bad game and affected those around him. I wish Jags was fit.
Osman - Think hes getting worse over the years. I actually thought he was almost england quality once! ha. Lazy, No tricks and lightweight.
Cahill - Only saw him do one huge run in the second half. he disappeared for huge parts of the game.
Rodwell - Another good performance. Unfortunately, surrounded by so many bad ones, it didnt really do much. solid and effective.
Fellaini - Thought he had a good game, but hoofball doesn’t really suit us in my opinion and not fellaini, even with his size. Often surrounded and outnumbered, his game was made very difficult.
Piennar.- Good game but running was made difficult. Ounumbered quickly every time by burnley. think he needs to get back to basics with bainsey.
Saha - Not potent enough. Missed pen very badly, missed various other shots and could have scored.
Subs
Jo - Unsure, think he deserves more time, was creative, and passed well, but should have took that shot that came on to his right.
Overall, Unhappy with the hoofball and the attitude of staff/players. If its created by Lescott then i blame it all on city, but they dont make us play hoofball. we had the better 11 players out there today. and we lost.
Coyle negated our strikers, we played hoofball, they won the midfield battle, then we were closed down too offten and too quick. by the time we compensated it was 85 min gone. and we missed the pen we won.
