Where is Blue Bill today?

Comments (14)

Here's a little ABC quiz to warm the cockles of your hearts: Where is Blue Bill today?

(a) At a secret European location, securing the signatures of one or two Dutch internationals?

(b) At Goodison Park, nervously awaiting the game against Wigan?

(c) Locked in negotiations with some big investors, bringing much needed cash in advance of the transfer window closure?

(d) Presenting the Paul O'Grady show on Radio 2.

Answers please. The first correct answer will be entered in a draw to win a ticket for a play with Jenny Seagrove in it.

Tell me it was pre-recorded and he was at the game, smiling in the rain from the plush Director’s Box, warm air wafting up his trouser leg?

Normally they show him on the telly when he’s there.... but not today. Or did I blink?

Sky — breaking news — say we have Heitinga.

Tony

Agreed a fee, not done and dusted yet.

Heitinga... it says we have agreed a fee. If other reports are true, he is supposed to be on mega bucks, so this one will be interesting.....!

And Bill was at the game they were talking about him on Five Live walking up and down the stairs to the directors box!

Sky sports breaking news does not say we have him - its says we have agreed a fee. This was confirmed by Moyes on Radio Merseyside post match interview but he seemed to doubt whether we could agree personal terms with him — he said " we will need to see if we can reach agreement".

Heitinga would be a top top addition though! An absolute quality right back and centre half and Dutch international. Madrid payed him £2.5m a year - what's our maximum??? Well it wont be £2.5m.

All this speculation and no speculation for us going for a keeper. Nash has zero minutes of prem/euro/cup experience. We really need a short term 1 year loan for an experienced keeper — someone who could come on if Howard takes a knock and not let us down — Nash does not even play in 2nd legs when we are four-nil up or even the Carling Cup games where clubs' number 2 keepers jump with joy for actually getting picked!!!

Important win today!!

@ John Crook... I think our limit at the moment is 20p and some toilet roll!!!

I wouldn’t mind a play with Jenny Seagrove!

Can’t see why she married our Bill. He must have one helluva personality!

John, that is something I have been on about for months. It’s not just if he gets injured. What if he loses form or gets sent off? It would also keep him on his toes. All the top sides have decent cover for their keeper.

I’d feel better about the prospects for the Heitinga move if he hadn’t played against Malaga today:

Nick, Lescott played a couple of days before going to Citteh, it means nothing.

He was at the game. His big mug was shown full screen with the commentator saying something about his recent investment and sanctioning the purchase of our 2 latest additions.I was incensed. Commentator doesn’t know what he’s talking about. The money has come from the sale of Lescott not investment by that bastard.

And he knows well that if he hadn’t sanctioned any purchases he’d be ’hanging by the banks of the Royle Blue Mersey’ as the song goes.

In David Moyes we have a man of the highest moral and ethical standards. In the transfer market David Moyes is he wrong to expect others to act the same as he, or are we wrong to expect him to lower his standards?

Would we be happy with someone in charge who would lower his self-esteem by dealing in the gutter? I doubt we want our club to lower its standards to those of 'Appy 'Arry, Big Sam and Sparky.

All the foreign money in the world delving in murky waters might win a few tin cups but, as our dear neighbours are becoming to realise, at what cost to our integrity and good name?
