Where's the money?
Comments (14)
Have just read that Everton have no more money to purchase new players... what is going on at Everton? They say they are in profit from last season, have record season ticket sales and have just sold Lescott for £24 million — so where is the money?
This looks, and I may be far of the mark, like a takeover is on the cards and the board are keeping quiet. If they have money, they need to strengthen now... only three days left.

David Barks, so where is the money tabled for Naughton and Delph? BK has spunked it on Kirkby, even the master bullshitter couldn’t possibly hide the money we got for Worf.

we have all been told all summer we had a pot of money for "Exciting" new players from the Vice chairman to the Chief executive.
Moyes then stands firm over Lescott and must have been promised we would make new signings if we let Lescott go.
Apparently Moyes is now "begging for more money with apparently the Banega deal dead and the Hietinga deal gone quiet it seems that Black Bill is once again dragging his feet to avoid spending.
Anyone remember the Fernandes fiasco "He’ll be signing in the morning".... Then the funds magically disapppear down the black hole when we didn't sign him.

Gavin, has the transfer window shut yet? Has Moyes not been saying we are close to a couple more signings? So maybe that is where the Naughton bid money is, being used in a few other negotiations. With Moyes admitting we have agreed a fee with Atletico Madrid, our spending has went up to about £22 million, that is the Lescott money. So I was answering that part of the post.
And it would seem that we are still negotiating with a couple more players. Why not just wait and see who has arrived by Tuesday night and then tally up the transfer fees, then we’ll know where the money has went. But since speculation is what we do during the transfer window, my guess is that we are hoping to complete the Heitenga deal, and then probably one other player, but Moyes would like two other players in addition to Heitenga. That is what I think he is talking about when asking for more funds, an additional 15 million to the Lescott funds instead of a figure around £5 or 6 million in addition to the Lescott funds.

That takes us onto Heitinga. Did he play for Athletico today? If so, despite the fact we have apparently agreed a fee, are we too far apart in terms of agreeing wages etc?
Where is Peter with those inside exclusives? (I’m not taking the piss, just curious!)
For the love of God, please let it be that Moyes plans to play Pienaar and Bily on the wings. I’m not sure how much longer I can suffer Osman out on the right. Granted, it’s not his favoured position, but it’s like a sore thumb how obvious a weakness we have down the right.

We played today with a back four and Rodwell and Neville in front, against Wigan! Neither got in their box in open play. If there is only enough cash for one player please don’t buy a utilty player, we need a genuine ball holding midfield player, a specialist. Full back is the easiest position on the park, my granny could play there.

Obviously he couldn’t name his source he was so accurate when Taylor and two others signed for us last week!!

Should that happen, we will all know where the money for team building went; maybe then, the protests will start
