The Mail Bag

Reading Davey's mind

My local bookie — very much one of us — has just laid me 8-1 against my naming the starting line-up tonight! Now throughout the week there has been much debate about the great man's predictability and as a contributor to this assertion, I felt it reasonable to invest £20 at the price offered. Jimmy Generous was not for taking an each-way punt so, to win 160 notes or nowt, this was my selection:-

Howard; Rodwell, Yobo, Distin, Baines; Bily, Osman, Fellaini, Pienaar; Cahill; Jo.

Wish me luck lads!

Think Gosling’s going to get the nod at RB.

Hope I’m wrong, though, matey!

I’ve got a feeling Gosling may start right back with Bily taking Ossie’s place. We will wait and see. I don’t think Jo deserves to start after the Fulham game either.

Here’s mine Brian:
Howard;

A back four of Cahill, Osman, Fellaini and Pienaar.

Midfield - Yak, Baines, Jo and Nash

Forwards - Yobo and Distin

You just never know with Moyes!!!

Brian
I’d see if you can get your money back.

Rodwell’s a cert to start and I can see felli getting a start tonight which should mean Ossie’s on the bench but maybe Timmy.

ALL THAT IS CERTAIN is NOTHING is certain.

Brian, I think that you will be losing your moolah there mate, Gosling (who everyone seems to have forgotten about) will more than likely carry on were he left off against Sigma.

Gosling and Rodwell will both start as Moyes likes to play the youngsters in Europe as it is a slower game. Cahill will defo start as he has a very good record in Europe and Billy is also going to start so:
Howard
Gosling, Yobo, Distin, Baines
Billy, Rodwell, Fellaini, Piennar
Cahill, Saha
Subs: Yak for Saha, Osman for Felli and possibly Baxter for Piennar depending on the way the game is going.

Have you not been paying attention all week?

Gosling is going to play right back and Billy is going to play in midfield.

I’m amazed when he heard your team he didn’t give you much longer odds in order to entice you to throw away even more money.

I thought my bets were bad!

Howard
Gosling, Yobo, Distin, Baines
Osman, Rodwell, Fellaini, Pienaar, Billy

Jo

I’m going with half optimism (Pienaar in the middle with Felli infront of Rodwell) and half realistic (Osman won’t lose his place and Jo won’t get dropped.)
Id like Saha to start (if not the Yak!) and someone else to be given a shot on the right, but I don’t know who.

Also,
Anton Peterlin is listed on the OS as a midfielder. I obviously got that wrong, I though he was a new striker. Anyone know what he does and if we might get a look at him anytime soon?

Bah.. of course... I guess it'll be Gosling although I would really like to see him on the wing instead of Ossie... he’s a real positive spark and is direct...

Whatever the team, COYB!
