I'm probably preaching to the converted here but is anyone else fed up with the Club's media efforts.
This is prompted by my waking up this morning to the news on Radio Merseyside that Arteta is likely to have further surgery. Rushing to my PC and trawling "newsnow Everton" I find half the national papers carrying the story. Hoping it's just a rumour I go to the OS — nothing absolutely nothing, a national story and no official news. The Piennar saga is also frustrating, match after match he's "doubtful". Now doubtful implies there's a chance and it's been weeks now so how can a player have a chance of playing 4 weeks ago and still not be fit now? Again zero news or updates, he just never appears.
Trying to navigate the intricacies of the website for tickets can also become a nightmare. Before the Benfica away game I and others tried to join the European travel club or whatever it's called. It was either closed or there was an announcement saying it had reopened but when you tried to enter it wouldn't do anything. As I say it wasn't just me and in the end we gave up (you have to do SOME work after all). As it turns out they probably did me a favour but that's hardly the point.
I could go on, even the Benfica home game I ended up paying full wack as a season ticket holder as the site wouldn't let me purchase on the last day of reduced prices. When I eventually phoned to book my ticket and complained, the guy said he couldn't do anything, but sympathised and said they get a lot of complaints.
Come on guys a bit more up to date news and better service from the website please.

For me, the way this club communicates with its fans is it’s most depressing downfall.....honesty and truth cost nothing..
The people’s club? That motto was about as far from the truth as it could have got...thank fuck we dropped it.
Arteta Setback
by Giulia Bould | Wednesday 4 November 2009, 09:36
Mikel Arteta has suffered a minor set back in his come back from injury.
The midfielder, who sustained a cruciate knee ligament injury in February, has had to undergo a procedure to remove an infection from the same knee and is now recovering.
In his press briefing today (Wednesday) ahead of the Europa League clash with Benfica, David Moyes said "Mikel has needed to have a ’wash out’ on his knee after doctors found an infection.
"It is a setback for him. However we can’t say how long it has put him back."
As for the OP. Maybe the Everton website are prepred to wait until there is something concrete to say rather than just reporting a rumour.
The reason you look on NewsNow & loads of press have it is because as soon as one reports it, most of the rest copy the story. It's nothing to do with it being widely known.
As much as I would sometimes like the website to be quicker, providing the news is accurate I am prepared to wait a few hours — I also don’t expect an official response on every rumour that is reported around the globe!
But do you really think a discussion about mis-communication at Everton would be full and frank with the ommission of Mr Kenwright's blunders, or the shameful shennigans of the Kirkby vote?
Maybe next we could have a discussion about football without mentioning players.

Despite your attempts - Bill or Kirkby didn’t come into it once.
Plus comments like
"the shameful shennigans of the Kirkby vote?"
Is complete specualtion boardering on slanderous and is completely unecessary.
I for one would be grateful if occasionally you could let one or two articles pass without having to mention your hatred of BK / Kirkby as its all getting a bit tiresome & your opinions are (Excessively) well documented already
I will remind you of the title and the premise of the article -’communications and the media’ - specifically in realtion to everton.
Of course they come into it.
