It's not going to be easy... but each game as it comes. It would be great to smack Old Redface around the chops a bit. They are not playing all that well. It's all about belief, passion and a bit of luck. If Sunderland can do it, so can we!

Post the team sheet when it appears here, this can be your Matchday Thread. COYB

First 20mins have been tough viewing. Utd dominant, and look in the mood to play ball. We on the other hand are backs to wall . . already. We have to change our attitude and take the game to them. Come on Davey, five in midfield is pointless if they’re not winning the possession stakes. Saha looks lively but is totally isolated. Switch to a four man midfield, stick Yak up front, and lets have a right go. If we go down, at least we’ll go down fighting.

The ESPN commentators are twats. A free kick against Fellaini was "defininate" (it appeared the Man U player jumped into his armpit, i.e. he’s shorter than fellaini), whereas Vidic’s swinging Elbow into Heitinga’s face is "just part of the game". It is nothing new, but maddening all the same...

Surely nobody can be surprised with the way w ehave played. Its the tried and tested moyes way against the big 4 sides, Shit himself, get the team to sit back all game and hope for a free kick or a corner. Teams this season that have got or played well against Man Utd have got into them but Moyes would never dream of attacking away at Utd. Watch next week as we face Liverpool in aterrible run of form we are at home. How will we approach the game ? the same way sit back and defend and watch Liverpool refind their form with a comfortable victory. total shite this season, gutless but no worries injuries are to blame not Moyes he is never at fault.

According to the commentators we are ’disciplined’..I an only interpret this as ’toothless.

Heitinga does a fine impression of Titus Bramble...passing it to oppsing players on the edge of his own box...25 minutes before he gets a touch and then he does that twice..

Long range passing..I’ll assume that was sarcasm.

Twasto be expected...two defnsive mnidfielders..an attacking midfielder who can’t pass playing as a winger and sod all creativity..

poor old Saha..he’s trying and so is Fellaini ..

Yes, most of them will lose out in the end, but it’s great to watch Utd on the back foot and defending fiercely for periods of the match. Surely the ’5th best team’ in the league can do the same. FFS.. we are getting over run because we are playing united.

We need to take our opportunities but I feel we seem to waste the ball when in possession too many times.

I do agree that we need 2 up front however but that will put pressure on the midfield.

So its take the risk and go for it or hold in midfield and hope for the chance. Either way its gonna be too tough. Personally I say fuck it and go for it!!

Their are only a few minutes left so we bring Jo on to replace Saha. No problem with protecting Saha but why not give Baxter a go, he may not be good enough but lets find out, we already know Jo is shite

Tactics. With a poor team....you attack and get cut to pieces. You defend, and don’t score.

All boils down to an injury ridden squad, no confidence, playing a good team.

And finally, the sad truth, that the top 3 are better than us...

Ged its not just the top 3 that are better than us, Liverpool, Man utd, Spurs & City are as well. Sunderland may well be too. We will get better when Arteta & Jags are back but i’m not expecting that form till February. We have a small squad will we sign anybody in january ? if we do itll be last week as usual.

The injuries line can only be used so far & obviously we would be better with Arteta et al. Its a combination of injuries and a failure to make best use of what we have & we have some good players & this has to be down to the manager.

"Let's have a right go. If we go down, at least we’ll go down fighting". Posted that at start of game. Now here we are 3-0 losers and this after a defensive performance. No doubt Davey will defend his tactics and tell us how good his buddy Alex’s team is. I’m just getting tired of the same old drivel.

I don’t really know what people expected to see. Did no-one predict one-way traffic and a sound defeat? They needed this, we needed not to be embarassed. A sad but true indictment given our current malaise. To call our manager a ’cunt’ seems harsh.

Probably the best group of individual players since Howard (first time round), but probably the least enjoyable to watch - no buzz at all anymore.

I’ll be at the KC but my 30 plus game a season loyalty is wearing pretty thin. Mikel and Pienaar are big misses.

This one was a forgettable match, that’s it. We never looked like we were going to get anything from the game. I don't understand how inferior teams get results at OT and we never do well there.

Our defence was ok but we played too deep. Saha was good in the attack with no real service or help. The problem was the midfield or basically the lack of it. We had two holding midfielders (defenders by trade!) who played very deep.

Fellaini is no playmaker so we had no threat from midfield. He looked lazy and uninterested. Gosling is too young and may not ever make it. Cahill tried but his best position is the other striker playing behind the centre forward. That left us totally helpless against a pretty mediocre ManU side which scored from about every decent chance they got.

There is no accusing the list of unavailables: we had 13 professionals onboard, only flair and guile was missing.

Howard (7): did what he could .
Neill (7): OK, solid defending and much more better passing than Hibbo.
Yobo (6): Did Ok too, but some dodgy moments.
Distin (7): Good overall.
Baines (6): Not one of his better games.
Gosling (5): Not there yet.
Heitinga (7): He moves like a carriership but the passing is great.
Rodwell (6): Not so good as in some other games but the promise is there. He turns more quickly with the ball than any player in the PL.
Fellaini (4): we have to get rid of him.
Cahill (6): Tried but no end result.
Saha (7): He was very good in a very difficult situation: he tackled, won headers and overall wanted to score against his old club.
Yakubu (6)sub: It was nice to see Moyes trying to change things early. One of the most intelligent players around, but he’s still not the same he was a year ago.
