Lukas Jutkiewicz

Ok this lad is only at Motherwell, but he has scored 5 goals from 8 games, plus 2 from the bench, been voted Young Player of the Year at Motherwell, plays in midfield.

Looked good when he played at Goodison, any reason why we cannot call him back?

Moyes will only consider him if Motherwell convert him to right back.

He won the player of the month, he's only been there a short time to win player of the year.

I’ve only seen him play in pre season friendlies. But have heard that he does have huge potential, he just has no stamina!
The team we bought him from said they had tried all sorts, he has even been out on loan before with similar comments.
One game I saw him play, he was dead on his feet after 65 minutes.
Maybe this will improve if he plays regularly at Motherwell and will come back stronger

Apparently the lad has real problems with fitness. He either can’t or won’t get fit enough for 90mins play.

Maybe this good spell at Motherwell might give him an incentive.

There was a post on here a while ago, I think it was someone who went to a question and answers with Moyes maybe ESCLA .
He was asked about certain players Anichebe, "Don't talk to me about him" and his response about Lukas was even worse, which I thought was a bit disrespectful of the lad to say the least, so by the sound of that, there is no chance of him coming back to us at this moment in time.

Paul Gladwell, I’ve heard the same things from a very very good source and it also included James Vaughan which surprised me

There is a big difference between the Scottish Pub League and the English Premier League. Jutkiewicz was doing well at Swindon and DM took a chance, but he’s not good enough. He may be a decent player at lower levels, but not for us.

Lukas Jutkiewicz has found his level at the Scotish Pub League.

There’s a massive jump to the English Premiership.

Its unlikely Lukas Jutkiewicz will be able to make that jump.

Credit where it is due that is a decent goal return.

However to put in context, isn’t one Danny Cadamarteri doing quite well north of the border?

Perfect example of this kind of player is Anthony Stokes. The ex Arsenal and Sunderland striker.

The lad didnt cut it at Arsenal so was loaned to Hibs. The then went on a run of goals per game that made English sides sit up and notice. He moves to Sunderland and cant hit a barn door. Subsequently ends up back with Hibs and is now banging them in again.... He’s not even in the Irish team anymore......

The SPL is a graveyard for promising players in the English leagues.

Gareth, yes, those where the ones, it has basically been said a long while back, allegedly from people at the club, that Vaughan will never make it now as his knees are knackered. Since I heard that he has been struck up again twice which just fuels those rumours.

Lukas is getting some decent press here in Ireland, apparntely he is eligible to play for both Ireland and England at the minute. I havent seen much of him to be honest, and yes, if you can score bags of goals in the SPL that doesnt mean you gonna be the next Rooney. Anthony Stokes shot at the premiership was ruined by that muppet Roy Keane when at Sunderland. I think loaning players to teams in the SPL is good for form and fitness but if we are gonna recall him then we would need to give a proper run in the team, which with all the injuries sounds like a good idea.

Motherwell fan here.

Yes, bug Lukas is settling in reasonably well after a slow start... the game up here is much faster than EPL, and he was lacking fitness and confidence at first. Starting to knock in a few goals now, though.

To be honest though, if I was Davie Moyes, I’d be taking John Ruddy back off us before Lukas -- he’s had some outstanding games for us, and could probably already hold down a place in some EPL first teams.

Good point Colin - I’d swap him with Fellaini. It certainly couldn’t make us any worse and at least we’d get the best out of Cahill again!

Thanks for the information, Calum. I hope he does well for you and we get a fit and in-form player back! (Even if it is so we can sell him.)

No disrespect but the SPL and EPL are poles apart. There will always be exceptions but lok where the average SPL player is bought from and sold too.
Rob Jones was outstanding for Hibs and club captain bought from Grimsby and sold to Scunthorpe.
Lucas up against the Falkirk defence is slightly different than coming up against Vidic and Ferdinand

He was loaned to Huddersfield last season,Their fans wanted him sent back to us as he was rubbish. Dont be fooled by scoring goals against giants such as St. Mirren or Aberdeen.
He’s not good enough for us or any premier league club

John Ruddy has fantastic potential and playing in the SPL will do wonders for his confidence and experience.
